Sector Information:
The Indian consumer electrical sector is on a sustained growth path arising from a confluence of
enduring macro and demographic factors. Rising income levels, growing aspirations of the
middle class, rapid urbanization, better outlook of housing, electrification and improving
affordability are likely to drive better penetration and product premiumization.
The Indian consumer electronics industry is evolving rapidly with increasing global trend of
continuously inspiring excitement and capturing the imagination of consumers with new devices
and technologies. For the last ten years, Indian consumers, especially the middle-class segment,
have been showing a drastic change in lifestyle and buying preferences with a strong inclination
towards consumer electronics products. This, in turn, has driven the global consumer electronics
market including the Indian market.
Moreover, rising disposable income coupled with the need for Internet usage has further boosted
the demand for smart consumer electronics. Preference for smart homes and smart offices is
driving the growth of the industry. High-end products still have a long way to go to acquire a
larger industry share in India.
India has witnessed increasing technology penetration with a strong demand from such
application areas as smart offices and smart homes, of which consumer electronics is an integral
and important part. Moreover, increased manufacturing cost in China has made India a potential
location for consumer electronics manufacturing.
Make in India policy of the government is attracting more investments in the consumer
electronics industry. Of the total electronics industry in India, consumer electronics has around
9.5 per cent market share, with major adoption among the middle-income group.
Company Information:
V-Guard Industries Ltd is a major electrical appliances manufacturer in India, and the
largest in the state of Kerala with an annual turnover of ₹23.21 billion (US$340 million)
in financial year 2017-18.[1] The company manufactures voltage stabilizers, electrical cable,
electric pumps, electric motors, geysers, solar water heaters, electric fans and UPSs. It was
founded in 1977 by Kochouseph Chittilappilly as a small voltage stabilizer manufacturing unit.
The company’s current Managing Director, Mithun Chittilappilly is a Post Graduate in
Management from the University Of Melbourne, Australia. In the year 2006, he joined V-Guard
as the Executive Director and in 2012, he was appointed as the Managing Director of the
company. Mithun Chittilappilly has previously worked with leading MNCs
like Deloitte & Hewlett Packard.
V-Guard is a consumer goods company with diversified product offerings. The company now
has over 500 distributors, 30,000 retailers, and branches across India.

appliances category
The company started in 1977, when Kochouseph Chittilappilly set out to build a brand in the
Indian electric and electronic goods industry The company started with a small manufacturing
unit for voltage stabilizers, a capital of Rs. 100,000 and two employees.
In less than four decades, V-Guard earned a reputation for solidity and reliability for designing
and manufacturing products that are built to last!
Within a short span of time, V-Guard grew rapidly to become a name synonymous with voltage
stabilizers across South India. The company soon expanded its range of products.
V-Guard's new vision will continue to drive more technologically sound products for the next
decade and beyond, enabling a seamlessly connected world.
V-Guard is armed with vast network of distributors, direct dealers, retailers and service centers in
its endeavor to reach every nook and corner of the country.

Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing the company's marketing initiatives. Uses market research and
analysis to direct marketing strategy and planning. Oversees the production of all
promotional materials and marketing campaigns. Reports marketing and sales results to
senior executives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
 Planning and Executing communication and media actions on all channels, including
Online as well as Offline.
 Creating and Managing promotional collateral to establish and maintain Product
branding.
 Effectively connect with the advertising teams to create collaterals to communicate the
brand proposition Develop Activations / BTL activities
 Effectively design media campaigns and work with the agencies to develop them.
 Monitor market trends and oversees advertising and marketing activities to ensure the
right message is delivered for the product and services.
 Working closely with product developers, researchers, marketing personnel’s and
creative agencies to make sure company brand values and image are followed.
 Evaluating the effectiveness of past and present brands and suggest enhancements
