projects in Tenke Fungurume Mining concession, Katanga , RDC.

2011 – 2015 Director of Community Development - Freeport-McMoran: 1,600 km² concession
with a quarter of a million inhabitant. Community relations with
10 liaison officers, 2 offices in the concession and quarterly meetings with stakeholders
and 57 traditional chiefs, office for community complains, etc. Health; malaria program,
cholera, capacity building for local health services, mobile clinics, river maintenance,
clean village well drilling, etc. Economic development; agricultural program, capacity
building initiatives for women, construction of 2 markets, etc. Education; sponsorship of
6 schools ( Primary and high school ) and university financing for 50 local students,
purchasing of school equipment, etc. Sport and Culture;sponsorship of sports teams
in the concession and of TP Mazembe ( One of the best soccer team in DRC ), training
for local artists,etc. Resettlement;Constructionof more than 3,500 homes for displaced
families, replacement of land via compensation and agricultural program, capacity
building and team building ( 42 people – Topography, Data Base, Survey, Community
Engagement, Livelihoods, cash compensation), 2 offices for Community greivances.
Relation with the mine to minimize the impact with the community and LOM (Live of the
mine ). Meeting with the Governement and local authorities about the action plan of the
RAP. Working with the international standart and best practice ( IFC – ICMM ). Strategic
meeting with the Senior Management to explain the 5 year plan and RAP goals.Land
Office for the concession of the mining site; land and infrastructure management,
database management, inter connection between all the department of the compny.to
elaborate a 10 year plan for the LOM and minimizethe community impact. Urbanization
in the concession of Tenke Fungurume Mining / Katanga / DRC ; feasibility study and
subsequent development of a new town. Projects. Evaluate the risk of the influx of people
in the concessionand find the best place to realocated people and land in the concession
with the support of the land office.
2009 – 2011 Site Manager ( Q/C )for the restoration of a hydroelectric power station for
Freeport-MC Moran (supervision of works of ABB Germany, Pauwels Belgium and
Alsthom France). Project for Tenke Fungurume Mining at Nseke, ( 200km NE of TFM
concession, Katanga, DRC ) 200 million US dollars for the entire project.
2007 – 2009 Project Manager ( Civil work )for Freeport-Mc Moran 30,000m³ of concrete . Tenke
Fungurume Mining project , Katanga , DRC ). 3 billion US dollars for the entire project
(Copper&Cobalt and mines project )
1998 – 2007 DeputyGeneralManagerSAFRICAS civil engineering company / Management of ;
Quarries / Crushing plant / Asphalt plant/ Concrete mixing plant / Commercial &
Marketing / Transport. Different projects ;World Bank project, 100 km asphalt road,
European Union project, 55 km asphalt road, several hundred kilometers of dirt roads
and a bridge with 34 m span. Construction of 550 pylons, hospitals, schools, embassies
and homes, structural works for Ruashi Mining, Anvill Mining, TFM covering a total of ±
50,000 m³ concrete. (Projects in Kinshasa, Bas Congo, Bandundu, Katanga and Kasai )
