2. We Are
We are funded by the British film
institution. They help new and
creative film makers with projects
that would otherwise be difficult to
film. They will also be helping us to
distribute the film digitally
3. The Plot
An unknown virus is spreading around the country at an alarming rate, people
affected by it are having cravings for human flesh and are doing anything for a
taste.
Our film starts with two teenagers, Rick and Walter, who are walking home from
school when they hear painful grunts coming from a nearby underpass, Rick goes to
investigate. He discovers a homeless man sat in a pool of blood with his back turned
away from the underpass entrance. Rick and Walter argue about helping the man
and calling an ambulance before Walter walks up to the man to see if he is hurt. The
man turns to reveal that he is eating his own arm, his face pale and veins showing.
The man jumps at Walter, they fall the ground and he screams in pain. Rick pushes
the man of Walter and they run away with the man close behind. After a while they
lose the man, Walter reveals that the man bit his arm. Rick learns about the virus
from his phone and has to help Walter get to a safe place before the virus sets in,
but will they make it?
4. Target Audience
Our target audience is 12 – 25 year olds, both male and female. Our questionnaire
showed that this age range are the most likely to see a zombie horror movie. Although
the results of the questionnaire showed that males would mostly watch zombie
movies we are aiming our film at both genders. We are representing different
ethnicities within the film as one of the main characters, Rick, is of Asian origin.
Horrors often have teenage characters which is one of the reasons that the target
audience consists mainly of teenagers. We created a mood board of things teenagers
stereotypical like:
5. Locations
The locations were are using are:
An abandoned underpass
A good place for a horror because its dark and has a scary atmosphere.
Walkway by a canal
We are using this location for a chase sequence, we will use long and tracking
shots.
6. Characters
Rick
Rick is the main character of the film, he is a stereotypical 17 year old. He keeps himself
to himself and is not very brave, but he has to overcome this to become the hero in the
film.
Walter
Walter is Rick’s best friend, also 17 years old. He is the adventurous one of the two and
is normally getting in trouble by being nosey. Rick usually keeps Walter grounded and
stops him from doing bad things.
Homeless Zombie
This is the first zombie we see in the film, it is the one that bites Walter.
7. The Name
The title “Bitten” directly connects to the zombie sub-genre and the character of
Walter who gets bitten. The font is uneven and looks like a scribble which
connects with the horror genre quite well.
The Log Line
“Don’t become one of them”
8. Unique selling points
• Not a stereotypical zombie movie, more
mysterious and unusual for the genre
• A wide, young target audience, we are hoping
to appeal to everyone not just people who
watch horrors
• Young and creative film makers sharing their
new project
