Authentic Reading Task: 哥伦布的中国饭馆怎么样

Project Description:
1. (speaking and listening part) report a food gathering event and interview the participants on
their views of the foodpresented at the gathering
2. (writing part) write a foodies'sreport for two typesof goodfoods and drinks (a total of four
items) in Columbus for a food magzine, in the article, you must take picturesof the food,
explain where to get it, its price, ingredients, and comment on the flovor of the foodand
drink items
Specific Instructions:
1. For the foodreport, each of youmust bring in a type of fooditems that youare learning to
class, so our class will have a large foodand drink sampling event. During the event, youcan
intervieweach other and pretend youare reportingthe event to a large group of
audience. The foodsampling event is on December 5, so please bring in breakfast foodand
drinks that morning. Your foodis also counted as participationfor that day.
2. Youmay work on the written report over the break. Take picturesof your favorite foodand
drinks in Columbus. Youmay use http://www.tagxedo.com/, Glogster.compr Publisher in
Wordto design your articles.
Due Dates:
The first draft for interview questions is due on December 3 (Tuesday)and the first draft for the
written article is due on December 9 (Monday). Missed deadlines will lead to 5 points' deductionin
your final grade.
The entire project is due on December 11 (Wednesday)and the interviewwill take place on December
5 (Thursday).
I will send out information about the mid-term exam during the break.
Grading Policy:
1. whether youspeak complicatedand well-structured sentenceswith good pronunciation
during the interview
2. whether youask at least a totalof 10 questions, and talk with at least three interviewees
3. whether your report is well-wwritten with no grammartical errors, with more sophisiticated
words, phrases and sentences
4. whether your report is interesting with visuals and other multi-media supports

For the foodreport, each of youmust bring in a type of fooditems that youare learning to class, so our class will have a large foodand drink sampling event. During the event, youcan intervieweach other and pretend youare reportingthe event to a large group of audience. The foodsampling event is on December 5, so please bring in breakfast foodand drinks that morning. Your foodis also counted as participationfor that day. 2. Youmay work on the written report over the break. Take picturesof your favorite foodand drinks in Columbus. Youmay use http://www.tagxedo.com/, Glogster.compr Publisher in Wordto design your articles. Due Dates: The first draft for interview questions is due on December 3 (Tuesday)and the first draft for the written article is due on December 9 (Monday).
