Vet Essay
Veterinarians            The topic I chose was veterinarians. What is a vet (short for
veterinarian)? "Vets are animal doctors" says Dee Ready. They care for sick animals. "Just as people visit the doctor when they are sick, animals
need help of doctors too" says Betsy Imershein.      What do veterinarians do? The vet may operate, fix a broken
bone or give an animal a shot. Whatever is wrong with an animal is what the vet has to do.      There are different
kinds of vets. Some care for pets. This includes dogs, cats, birds and things of that nature. Others care for farm animals. This includes cows, pigs, goats,
sheep, horses...show more content...
Where do they generally work? When the vet is in an animal hospital, he will be in the examining rooms,
operating rooms, and then the sick ones may stay to be watched closely. Farm vets have to go to the sick animals often because the animal is to big
to take to him.      People help veterinarians. "Vets need help with their work" says Betsy Imershein. The person
helps by answering the phones and plans visits. Sometimes the person helps with operations or assists the vet.
The pay scale is different. It is according to what kind of vet you are. Large animal vets earn between
$37,000.00 and $37,500.00. Mixed animal vet get $35,000.00. A small animal vet gets between $36,300.00 to $37,600.00.
The biggest task of all vets is to help others. They help animals and people. They take care of and help heal
people's pets. A farm animal vet helps the farm animal have babies. Most of all "vets show people how to care for their animals" said Grant
Compton. Ready, Dee Veterinarians. Minnesota: Bridgestore book, 1997 Crampton, Grant What Do Veterinarians Do? New York: Dodd, Mead &

The Importance Of Veterans To My Family
Veterans are people who have come home from serving our country. I have a veteran in my family. My dad was gone 2 years. He missed 2
anniversary's , everyone's birthday's, and even Christmas and Thanksgiving. When he left we were told that we wouldn't see our dad for
awhile.Things happened. When he was gone we went through lots of hard times. So the main thing that happened was we got this call saying "
There was an explosion." That explosion just happened to be right where Kevin Hoffman was standing. When we got the call we didn't know if he
had made it through that or if he was gone. So then they told us that they will let us know more when they find out more. Then we got a call from
them again and they said " It wasn't him that got blown

Essay On Modern Day Veterans
"Have you hugged a veteran today?" What about yesterday? most likely the answer is no. Veterans are important to our nations history and future, but
we are not very good at recognizing this and following through with our promises. A quote from John Kennedy states that "As we express our
gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." We do not realize the impact they have on our
lives today. They protected our freedom, they remind us of how deadly war really is, and most importantly they teach our future generations.
One of the fundamental reasons people go to war is for freedom. Where would we be without the soldiers who fought for our freedom in the
American Revolution, or the War of 1812. New Hampshire's motto, "Live Free or Die", sums up everything veterans stand for These veterans put their
lives on the line for...show more content...
Another 117,000 American soldiers in World War I. Something that people these days do not take into consideration is the pain soldiers go through
seeing their friends pass away in front of them. 2.4 million americans who fought in Iraq or Afghanistan are living with PTSD, or post traumatic
stress disorder, due to lost comrades and Traumatic Brain Injuries, from being so close to all the explosions. Our soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice
for our freedom and they come home with both visible scars and mental trauma. The mental scars are the hardest thing for us to understand and most
of the soldiers refuse to talk about what they had experienced in every type of war. It's important to remember that when our soldiers signed up to
fight for our freedom, they never knew how hard it would be to return to the United States and acclimate back into a normal society. They are living

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Va System
Our government gets a grade of C. The layers of bureaucratic waste were front in center with each week's lesson. The founding fathers had good
intentions but our leaders today seemed to have lost direction and proper focus. The negativity and division even, within their own parties of
government officials is disconcerting. The system would work better if THEY learned how to be civil, respectful and more understanding of each other
and realize that ever opinion matters and that working together they can archive more. The main strength would be the foundation that United States of
America was built on, our ability at times to come together when outside forces threaten the fabric of the country, even though present day the most

The VA System needs a complete over all we are doing a terrible disservices to our veteran's. My views have not changed in taking this class; I do
however feel I now have a much improved understanding of my stand on issues. There is always room for comprise and improvement. The current
make of House and Senate is divided along party lines and then also with in party lines. Our President should work on his deliverances of his
opinion on healthcare and stop the negative rhetoric. I am in favor of all having a voice as so long it is a positive voice. The example I use is that
of this class and the week to week healthy discussions by my fellow classmates. In 2050 the American Government can be a government of the
people if we turn the tide now and get back to providing equally for all. The thoughts and postings of some of my younger classmates give me hope
that we can and will be better. We have to educate and show our youth they yes they are entitles to their beliefs and opinions but not to demonstrate in
destructive and hateful manners. Get back to our youth and guide them with positive role models and open and respectful

Why Are Veterans Important To The Future
Veterans are important to our past and future because they help to keep our country free. They fight so we all have the right to freedom. These men
and women are important, because they risk their lives every day for the United States of America. Without these veterans in the past we would not
have all of the rights and freedom that we have nowadays. If we do not have veterans in the future we may not be the United States of America anymore.
These past and present veterans are vital to the survival of the U.S. They make it possible for us to have a life worry free, to the thought of danger.
Without past generations of veterans we would be living in a country full of awful things. Veterans help to protect the children and people, by keeping

us and our country, yet their government does not help them. These people have risked everything for us, the least we can do is help. The VA

of a trustworthy head, is not helping our veterans as the organization should be should be

Personal Experience: My Interview With A Veteran
I had to interview individuals because there is no VA hospital here. Most of the active duty members I have interview do not know where I would
send a veteran who's in need mental health services. So, I interviewed a veteran who served for 25 years and currently work at Grafenwoehr PX as
a cashier. The others two veteran I couldn't get a hold of because they were not returning my emails and I do not know their work schedule. Also, I
have completed my part from the final assignment. However, I didn't see all the post at the time. I have attached my finding about two days ago, and
I will have attached it again. I didn't use the same questions you all used since I was intervening individuals and not an agency. I did my interview

Veterans Day Essay
1. THIS DAY IN NAVAL HISTORY
– NOVEMBER 4, 1955 Gioconda R Saraneiro became the first appointed female captain in the U.S. Naval
Medical Corps. Initially appointed a Lieutentant junior grade in the WAVES during World War II in 1943, she left the Navy to teach and start a
medical practice. She returned to the Navy in 1949 and retired in 1966. Captain Saraneiro passed in 1983. 2. VETERANS DAY. As we celebrate
Veterans Day, take a moment to reflect on and give thanks to our veterans for their contributions to our nation. Veterans Day will be observed as a

RETIREMENT SYSTEM (BRS) TRAINING. The Fiscal Year 2016 Nation Defense Authorization Act created a new military retirement system that
blends the traditional legacy retirement pension with a defined contribution to Service members' Thrift Savings Plan account. The new Blended
Retirement System goes into effect on January 1, 2018. The opt–in/election period for the Blended Retirement System begins January 1, 2018, and
concludes on December 31, 2018. All Service members who enter the military on or after January 1, 2018, will automatically be enrolled in BRS. A
Naval notification will be mailed out to all Sailors eligible to opt–in to the new BRS. The letter states that all MANDATORY training must be
completed no later than 31 December 2017. BRS training is mandatory and provides Sailors with information that compares the benefits of the current
retirement system and BRS. Once a servicemember decides to enroll in BRS, the selection is

What Does It Mean To Be A Veteran Essay
Our flag stands tall and people say that it blows with the last breathe of every soldier who has given their life to our country. On the eleventh hour
of the eleventh day on the eleventh month in 1918 an armistice occurred. This soon became a federal holiday in 1938. Veterans are important to our
past and future because they stand up for what is right. They put their life on the line to help defend our country. Although they have families of
their own, they have stepped up to defend everyone elses family in the U.S. too. Veterans fight for our country and we should be very grateful for
them. The veterans who have fought in these wars to protect our country. They were very giving and not selfish. They put peoples lives, that they
didn't even know, before their own. T Veterans put their life on the line to help defend our country because it's something they feel they need to do.
They are very inspiring people. Most people don't have the courage to go to war. The men and women who are so courageous are once in a lifetime
people who have amazing stories to tell. Our freedom would not exist if it weren't for veterans....show more content...
Saying "The Pledge of Allegiance" and singing "The Star Spangled Banner" makes me feel so proud to live here. Listening to veterans tell stories
about wars is so interesting. You wonder how they survived and how some are still willing to go out and fight. When you see a veteran, you
realize that this is your home. These veterans have given me a life most people would love to have. These veterans stood up for what they believed
in. I will never meet all of them, but I will never be able to express how thankful I am. These veterans are people we pass every day, they don't expect
a thank you. We lose about 1,000 World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans everyday. They should be thanked a lot

Why Veterans Are Important Essay
There are so many history stories in history books and on the internet, but the source from people who were actually there is so much better than
reading the nonsense. It's better to hear stories from people who have actually lived and witnessed it rather than just read stories about it. Most
students listen better than they read. When you listen to stuff, it sticks in our mind way longer than looking at a book trying to figure out what's going
on. Veterans are an example of this. They tell us stories about the times they were in the training and when they battled, if they did or have already.
They have always been an important part of our nation's history, present, and future. Everyone who went into the military or is currently planning to
join has or will have a story to tell. It will be a part of them that they will always remember, the good times and the bad times. So many veterans love
telling all the experiences they have witnessed. Thinking of it, it's not a bad thing; it's a great thing to be able to say they were actually there. Many
students ask what the training is like when they first join the military, although it's really tough, many still consider going, some even make the
commitment to join right after they graduate. Those who do make it, the commitment, are the reason our nation's history and future is how it is and how

country a free country, which also makes it a better place to live in. Veterans stood up for our country; whether the ones forced to go during the
draft, or the ones who voluntarily go. Whether the cause, they were always ready to go and fight for the people's freedom. We really do see how
great these people are, I mean, they risked their life for ours to be

Speech About Veterans
Freedom is not free. It is obtained for us by people we don't know in countries far away. Veterans are the key to keeping our country safe. They
were willing to give up their family, friends, security, and even their lives to fight for the rights of those they don't know. By risking it all, veterans
are able to be an inspiration to a whole country. While I admire the work that many veterans have done, I don't believe that I would be able to make
the same sacrifices as they did. As a service to their country, they took it upon themselves to protect those unknown to them. They are a part of
something greater than themselves in which they are essential to the outcome of the whole. All roles are of equal importance because without them all
our rights would be unfound. There would be no freedom of speech or right to a fair trial. Our country would be without purpose if we...show more

I am proud to say that both my grandma and grandpa served in the military. The experiences that they have had are invaluable to learn about. Their
stories keep the service they have done alive and helps to enrich others about what serving the country is like. They do not glout about their service,
but are humbled to have been able to make a contribution to the nation's security. If not for my grandpa's service, I would not be here today as he met
my grandma through it. I respect his service and sacrifice for the country of today. It is important to remember how much of daily life is affected by
the work of veterans. Walking on streets, going to school, eating at restaurants, and hanging out with friends all depend on the service of veterans. They
may not receive the proper amount of recognition from the younger generations, but their work is appreciated. In actuality, they gained vital
information that can be shared with the future generations. They have gained respect and honor for their duty for our

Why Are Veterans Important To Society
Throughout US history, many wars and battles were fought that marked America. Fighting within those wars were brave soldiers, which to this day, we
know as veterans. Veterans are important to our nation's history and future, as they have contributed to make America the great and prosperous nation
that it is today. Veterans, along with other respected groups of people, deserve the nation's uttermost respect for all the contributions they have made to
this country known as America. Not many people would withstand having to go off to war knowing their life was on the line. There is much respect
and gratitude inclined towards those who did and sacrificed everything they had. Our cordially veterans – the ones who fought and endured the bestial
wars, the ones who knew they could fall at any moment, the ones who, despite the horror and fear...show more content...
One often misinterprets the true meaning of war, believing it is only a dispute that is ended through fighting. In fact, war is more than just fighting. It
is a battle where many brave souls lose their lives for protecting the country they love. Many of the rights we have today would not have been possible
without the sacrifice of many brave American soldiers. Instead of living in a tranquil and prosperous nation, we could be living in a nation that
resembles countries such as Africa, living under poor conditions and extreme poverty. It is imperative to take into consideration that the veterans we
have today have made an impact on our nation and we owe much of our respect to them. Not many people have the courage to take on the heavy and
overwhelming duty of going to war, knowing that death is imminent. Along with that, many of them have experienced traumatizing moments that have
scarred them for life. Because of this, there is much appreciation and respect inclined towards

What Does Veterans Day Mean To Me Essay
When I was asked what Veterans Day meant to me I didn't have a specific answer. I could give the cookie cutter answer of to honor the men and
women who fought for this country's freedoms, but I wanted to go deeper. What makes these specific people so special and worth honoring? The
reason may be because of the sacrifices they made or the bravery they showed; or it be for the tough times they have gone through and still have to
go through. Maybe we owe them for not being just our moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandmas, and grandpas; but for going above and beyond what
anyone could ever ask of them. When you are young you hear of stories told about people losing not just their lives, but their limbs, identity, and even
their mental abilities. The question is then why even risk the chance of this happening? Why not let others fight while you just sit back and watch?
Many people may choose to sit back to enjoy the life that they have, yet they...show more content...
No one could imagine strapping on boots that you know could be torn right off your feet, imagine jumping out of an airplane behind enemy lines;
or imagine living on a US aircraft carrier fearing the threat of underwater mines every day. The bravery it would take to be in any of those
scenarios is enormous. Many brave veterans have their own memories to share when they return home to tell the stories, but countless others never
get that chance. Veterans have that rare bravery that sets them apart from the rest. So why should we honor these people? Is it for them protecting
our freedoms, or risking their lives for us and our country? What do we owe them for the great number of sacrifices they have made in their lives, or
for their rare bravery which they possess? Maybe we owe veterans for not being simply ordinary; we owe them for being extraordinary. I believe it is a
much simpler reason, we owe veterans because they are

Essay On Importance Of Veterans
People often say that freedom is not free and that price has been paid by countless brave individuals. These brave individuals are known as
veterans. Veterans should be remembered, respected and honored because of their sacrifices, courage, and patriotism. All of us make sacrifices, but
consider the sacrifices made by veterans. How many soldiers willingly leave their worried families behind? Missing life's experiences such as the
birth of a baby or celebrating a favorite holiday impacts a veteran's life in a way that we can hardly comprehend. Many years are spent without the
comforts of their home and yet they still go out on the battlefield knowing their lives are at stake fighting to grant us our freedoms. Courage

Why Veterans Are Important Essay
A veteran is a person who served in the military. A person who sacrificed their own life to defend the lives of others. A person who protected our
country day after day from harm. A person who had to endure so much pain and suffering to give us a better tomorrow. Veterans are important to our
nation's history and future because without them having to go through what they encountered, our lives wouldn't be at all near to how they are today.
They make our future better even though they are unsure of theirs. They give us freedom for a finer future and we as the people of this nation should
ensure that they are an important priority in our life today, tomorrow and always. There are many wars that happened in history that changed our
nation. One war that had an enormous impact on our nation was The Revolutionary war. The Revolutionary War began the year of 1775. The war went
on till 1783 and within those eight years our nation gained something that will change us forever. On July...show more content...
We don't hear bomb explosions outside our homes: we don't walk out to see people carrying around massive weapons and we don't experience
suffering and pain on an everyday basis like other countries do. We are a safe well cared for nation because of our veterans. If our veterans are
willing to sacrifice their lives to protect us, it should be an important task in our lives to make sure that our nations veterans are well cared for.
Many of our nations veterans struggle financially and emotionally and that is not how they should live. There are veterans who don't have homes
and are homeless. That shouldn't be an issue in our world today. Why should someone who fights for a good life have to come back from war to
have to live on the street? They give us freedom for a finer future and we as the people of this nation should ensure that they are an important priority
in ensuring their lives are as bright as the people they fight

Why I Want To Be A Veteran Essay
I have always had the upmost respect for veterans and thought very highly of them. Ever since I was a boy it has been my dream to become a
soldier. My uncle was a veteran and I heard many stories about Vietnam and it just made me want to become a soldier. My uncle was in the Marine
Corps and every time he told me a story it made me want to join. Now at the age of seventeen years old I am ready to enlist into the Marines. It is a
big leap in my life that I would never have the opportunity to take if it wasn't for one life changing moment of my life. "It's going to be fine," that's
all I hear from the lady sitting next to me as I am crying and looking out the window as the house I was first brought home to grows smaller and
smaller. I turned around and cried not knowing what was going on and why I was being taken from my home. The lady next to me began to
comfort me and held me close while I cried. I didn't know her or the other people that were with her and I was scared. I had no idea where we were
going and I had no idea where my brothers or sister were. We drove for about half an hour and then we pulled into a big parking lot and stopped. We
all got out and they led me into a large building that smelled like winterfresh air fresheners. The sound of crying and laughing filled the air while kids

Vet Essay

  • 1. Vet Essay Veterinarians            The topic I chose was veterinarians. What is a vet (short for veterinarian)? "Vets are animal doctors" says Dee Ready. They care for sick animals. "Just as people visit the doctor when they are sick, animals need help of doctors too" says Betsy Imershein.      What do veterinarians do? The vet may operate, fix a broken bone or give an animal a shot. Whatever is wrong with an animal is what the vet has to do.      There are different kinds of vets. Some care for pets. This includes dogs, cats, birds and things of that nature. Others care for farm animals. This includes cows, pigs, goats, sheep, horses...show more content...      Where do they generally work? When the vet is in an animal hospital, he will be in the examining rooms, operating rooms, and then the sick ones may stay to be watched closely. Farm vets have to go to the sick animals often because the animal is to big to take to him.      People help veterinarians. "Vets need help with their work" says Betsy Imershein. The person helps by answering the phones and plans visits. Sometimes the person helps with operations or assists the vet.      The pay scale is different. It is according to what kind of vet you are. Large animal vets earn between $37,000.00 and $37,500.00. Mixed animal vet get $35,000.00. A small animal vet gets between $36,300.00 to $37,600.00.      The biggest task of all vets is to help others. They help animals and people. They take care of and help heal people's pets. A farm animal vet helps the farm animal have babies. Most of all "vets show people how to care for their animals" said Grant Compton. Ready, Dee Veterinarians. Minnesota: Bridgestore book, 1997 Crampton, Grant What Do Veterinarians Do? New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1964 Imershein, Doctor Betsy The Work People do Animal Doctor. • 2. The Importance Of Veterans To My Family Veterans are people who have come home from serving our country. I have a veteran in my family. My dad was gone 2 years. He missed 2 anniversary's , everyone's birthday's, and even Christmas and Thanksgiving. When he left we were told that we wouldn't see our dad for awhile.Things happened. When he was gone we went through lots of hard times. So the main thing that happened was we got this call saying " There was an explosion." That explosion just happened to be right where Kevin Hoffman was standing. When we got the call we didn't know if he had made it through that or if he was gone. So then they told us that they will let us know more when they find out more. Then we got a call from them again and they said " It wasn't him that got blown Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Essay On Modern Day Veterans "Have you hugged a veteran today?" What about yesterday? most likely the answer is no. Veterans are important to our nations history and future, but we are not very good at recognizing this and following through with our promises. A quote from John Kennedy states that "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." We do not realize the impact they have on our lives today. They protected our freedom, they remind us of how deadly war really is, and most importantly they teach our future generations. One of the fundamental reasons people go to war is for freedom. Where would we be without the soldiers who fought for our freedom in the American Revolution, or the War of 1812. New Hampshire's motto, "Live Free or Die", sums up everything veterans stand for These veterans put their lives on the line for...show more content... Another 117,000 American soldiers in World War I. Something that people these days do not take into consideration is the pain soldiers go through seeing their friends pass away in front of them. 2.4 million americans who fought in Iraq or Afghanistan are living with PTSD, or post traumatic stress disorder, due to lost comrades and Traumatic Brain Injuries, from being so close to all the explosions. Our soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and they come home with both visible scars and mental trauma. The mental scars are the hardest thing for us to understand and most of the soldiers refuse to talk about what they had experienced in every type of war. It's important to remember that when our soldiers signed up to fight for our freedom, they never knew how hard it would be to return to the United States and acclimate back into a normal society. They are living examples of the hardships that are faced on the battlefields and not only can we respect their experiences we can also learn from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Va System Our government gets a grade of C. The layers of bureaucratic waste were front in center with each week's lesson. The founding fathers had good intentions but our leaders today seemed to have lost direction and proper focus. The negativity and division even, within their own parties of government officials is disconcerting. The system would work better if THEY learned how to be civil, respectful and more understanding of each other and realize that ever opinion matters and that working together they can archive more. The main strength would be the foundation that United States of America was built on, our ability at times to come together when outside forces threaten the fabric of the country, even though present day the most destructive...show more content... The VA System needs a complete over all we are doing a terrible disservices to our veteran's. My views have not changed in taking this class; I do however feel I now have a much improved understanding of my stand on issues. There is always room for comprise and improvement. The current make of House and Senate is divided along party lines and then also with in party lines. Our President should work on his deliverances of his opinion on healthcare and stop the negative rhetoric. I am in favor of all having a voice as so long it is a positive voice. The example I use is that of this class and the week to week healthy discussions by my fellow classmates. In 2050 the American Government can be a government of the people if we turn the tide now and get back to providing equally for all. The thoughts and postings of some of my younger classmates give me hope that we can and will be better. We have to educate and show our youth they yes they are entitles to their beliefs and opinions but not to demonstrate in destructive and hateful manners. Get back to our youth and guide them with positive role models and open and respectful Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Why Are Veterans Important To The Future Veterans are important to our past and future because they help to keep our country free. They fight so we all have the right to freedom. These men and women are important, because they risk their lives every day for the United States of America. Without these veterans in the past we would not have all of the rights and freedom that we have nowadays. If we do not have veterans in the future we may not be the United States of America anymore. These past and present veterans are vital to the survival of the U.S. They make it possible for us to have a life worry free, to the thought of danger. Without past generations of veterans we would be living in a country full of awful things. Veterans help to protect the children and people, by keeping Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Advantages And Disadvantage Of Veterans A veteran if someone who served in the military, without our U.S. veterans we could not call ourselves free. These people have risked their lives for us and our country, yet their government does not help them. These people have risked everything for us, the least we can do is help. The VA (Department of VeteranAffairs) is a department set up by our government to help our veterans, but the VA is failing. The lack of money, and the lack of a trustworthy head, is not helping our veterans as the organization should be should be The VA is failing and they should do more to help our veterans, here are 3 facts that support that statement. So, I interviewed a veteran who served for 25 years and currently work at Grafenwoehr PX as a cashier. The others two veteran I couldn't get a hold of because they were not returning my emails and I do not know their work schedule. Also, I have completed my part from the final assignment. • 10. What Does It Mean To Be A Veteran Essay Our flag stands tall and people say that it blows with the last breathe of every soldier who has given their life to our country. On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day on the eleventh month in 1918 an armistice occurred. This soon became a federal holiday in 1938. Veterans are important to our past and future because they stand up for what is right. They put their life on the line to help defend our country. Although they have families of their own, they have stepped up to defend everyone elses family in the U.S. too. Veterans fight for our country and we should be very grateful for them. The veterans who have fought in these wars to protect our country. They were very giving and not selfish. They put peoples lives, that they didn't even know, before their own. T Veterans put their life on the line to help defend our country because it's something they feel they need to do. They are very inspiring people. Most people don't have the courage to go to war. The men and women who are so courageous are once in a lifetime people who have amazing stories to tell. Our freedom would not exist if it weren't for veterans....show more content... Saying "The Pledge of Allegiance" and singing "The Star Spangled Banner" makes me feel so proud to live here. Listening to veterans tell stories about wars is so interesting. You wonder how they survived and how some are still willing to go out and fight. When you see a veteran, you realize that this is your home. These veterans have given me a life most people would love to have. These veterans stood up for what they believed in. I will never meet all of them, but I will never be able to express how thankful I am. These veterans are people we pass every day, they don't expect a thank you. We lose about 1,000 World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans everyday. They should be thanked a lot Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Why Veterans Are Important Essay There are so many history stories in history books and on the internet, but the source from people who were actually there is so much better than reading the nonsense. It's better to hear stories from people who have actually lived and witnessed it rather than just read stories about it. Most students listen better than they read. When you listen to stuff, it sticks in our mind way longer than looking at a book trying to figure out what's going on. Veterans are an example of this. They tell us stories about the times they were in the training and when they battled, if they did or have already. They have always been an important part of our nation's history, present, and future. Everyone who went into the military or is currently planning to join has or will have a story to tell. It will be a part of them that they will always remember, the good times and the bad times. So many veterans love telling all the experiences they have witnessed. Thinking of it, it's not a bad thing; it's a great thing to be able to say they were actually there. Many students ask what the training is like when they first join the military, although it's really tough, many still consider going, some even make the commitment to join right after they graduate. Those who do make it, the commitment, are the reason our nation's history and future is how it is and how ...show more content... Our nation past was, well, not always perfect. Without some of our veterans, our country wouldn't be as free as it is. Veterans continue to make our country a free country, which also makes it a better place to live in. Veterans stood up for our country; whether the ones forced to go during the draft, or the ones who voluntarily go. Whether the cause, they were always ready to go and fight for the people's freedom. • 12. Speech About Veterans Freedom is not free. It is obtained for us by people we don't know in countries far away. Veterans are the key to keeping our country safe. They were willing to give up their family, friends, security, and even their lives to fight for the rights of those they don't know. By risking it all, veterans are able to be an inspiration to a whole country. While I admire the work that many veterans have done, I don't believe that I would be able to make the same sacrifices as they did. As a service to their country, they took it upon themselves to protect those unknown to them. They are a part of something greater than themselves in which they are essential to the outcome of the whole. All roles are of equal importance because without them all our rights would be unfound. There would be no freedom of speech or right to a fair trial. Our country would be without purpose if we...show more content... I am proud to say that both my grandma and grandpa served in the military. The experiences that they have had are invaluable to learn about. Their stories keep the service they have done alive and helps to enrich others about what serving the country is like. They do not glout about their service, but are humbled to have been able to make a contribution to the nation's security. If not for my grandpa's service, I would not be here today as he met my grandma through it. I respect his service and sacrifice for the country of today. It is important to remember how much of daily life is affected by the work of veterans. Walking on streets, going to school, eating at restaurants, and hanging out with friends all depend on the service of veterans. They may not receive the proper amount of recognition from the younger generations, but their work is appreciated. In actuality, they gained vital information that can be shared with the future generations. They have gained respect and honor for their duty for our Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 14. Why Are Veterans Important To Society Throughout US history, many wars and battles were fought that marked America. Fighting within those wars were brave soldiers, which to this day, we know as veterans. Veterans are important to our nation's history and future, as they have contributed to make America the great and prosperous nation that it is today. Veterans, along with other respected groups of people, deserve the nation's uttermost respect for all the contributions they have made to this country known as America. Not many people would withstand having to go off to war knowing their life was on the line. There is much respect and gratitude inclined towards those who did and sacrificed everything they had. One often misinterprets the true meaning of war, believing it is only a dispute that is ended through fighting. In fact, war is more than just fighting. It is a battle where many brave souls lose their lives for protecting the country they love. Many of the rights we have today would not have been possible without the sacrifice of many brave American soldiers. Instead of living in a tranquil and prosperous nation, we could be living in a nation that resembles countries such as Africa, living under poor conditions and extreme poverty. It is imperative to take into consideration that the veterans we have today have made an impact on our nation and we owe much of our respect to them. Not many people have the courage to take on the heavy and overwhelming duty of going to war, knowing that death is imminent. Along with that, many of them have experienced traumatizing moments that have scarred them for life. • 15. What Does Veterans Day Mean To Me Essay When I was asked what Veterans Day meant to me I didn't have a specific answer. I could give the cookie cutter answer of to honor the men and women who fought for this country's freedoms, but I wanted to go deeper. What makes these specific people so special and worth honoring? The reason may be because of the sacrifices they made or the bravery they showed; or it be for the tough times they have gone through and still have to go through. Maybe we owe them for not being just our moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandmas, and grandpas; but for going above and beyond what anyone could ever ask of them. When you are young you hear of stories told about people losing not just their lives, but their limbs, identity, and even their mental abilities. The question is then why even risk the chance of this happening? Why not let others fight while you just sit back and watch? Many people may choose to sit back to enjoy the life that they have, yet they...show more content... No one could imagine strapping on boots that you know could be torn right off your feet, imagine jumping out of an airplane behind enemy lines; or imagine living on a US aircraft carrier fearing the threat of underwater mines every day. The bravery it would take to be in any of those scenarios is enormous. Many brave veterans have their own memories to share when they return home to tell the stories, but countless others never get that chance. Veterans have that rare bravery that sets them apart from the rest. So why should we honor these people? Is it for them protecting our freedoms, or risking their lives for us and our country?
