Descriptive Essay On A Day With My Father
As the line's length continued to decrease, I continued to hug my mom. We were on our way to see my Dad in California, and by we I mean only my
brother and I. Yep,that's right,me and my brother were flying across the country BY OURSELVES to see our dad in California. Not only that, it was a
12 hour flight with two stops.
The whole flight consisted of a stop in Houston,TX a stop in Seattle,Washington, welcoming, humorous flight attendants, and a dramatic little brother.
But it was totally worth it knowing that I would see my dad for the first time in a whole year.
When we landed in the airport, it was almost empty and looked nice with neat carpeting and organization whereas the airport in New York looked
chaotic. I was in the middle of a conversation with my mom to inform her that we landed when all of the sudden my brother, Ethan cried out
"DADDY!!!!!".
I looked up as my Dad was walking towards us and I couldn't help but smile while on the other hand, Ethan ran up to my dad and started hugging him
while crying at the same time. My dad lifted him up and carried him to the place where our step–family was waiting. When I saw them I didn't know
what to say other than "hi".
Everybody else murmured "hi" in an awkward way. We took a picture right there and then headed to the exit.
I walked beside my dad while Ethan was still being carried by him. Outside in the parking lot was a van that we drove home in. It was the longest
drive of my life. I was sitting right next to my younger

Personal Narrative: My Dad
My dad was an alcoholic all my memories consisted of me coming home from my babysitters or school, he would be drunk passed out on the couch
with beer bottles everywhere, and nascar on the television. This one night everything seemed to be normal my dad made dinner, my mom got
stuck with the dishes. I came out of my room right before I went to bed and I saw my dad sitting at the glass table that is on our porch in the
backyard. I went out to see what he was doing and he was smoking a vanilla cuban cigar, my mom came and took me to bed. Little did I know in a
few hours every memory in the house was not going to compare to this one. My mom ran into mine and my sisters rooms telling us we needed to get
up, I asked her many times "what's happening"

My Father: The Person I Admire Most
Over time, there have been several people who have influenced various aspects of my life, based on their personal characteristics, accomplishments,
and values. I have been privileged to have had numerous teachers and professors who I respect for their patience and intelligence. There are artists
that have inspired me by their natural talents and original creativity. I value many political leaders, who have inspired me by their contributions to
society, and their ability to change our futures. Of all the people I have encountered in my life, the person I admire most is my father. As the youngest

No matter how tired he was from his long work week, he would be up bright and early Saturday morning to attend any of our sporting events,
tournaments, or recitals, and then chauffeur us and our friends to slumber parties or school dances. He was always very protective and kept a
watchful eye over us. My father's protectiveness and selflessness generated at a young age for him. He is the ninth of twelve children, and often
told us stories of how he had to look after, and practically raise his three younger siblings after my grandfather had passed. He made certain they
completed their chores around my grandmother's farm, maintained good hygiene practices, and kept up with their schoolwork. School was extremely
important to my father, because he knew an education was the only way he could be successful. Proudly, he finished high school at the age of
sixteen, but could not follow the footsteps of his older brothers and join the military, because he was too young. Therefore, he decided to continue his
studies. The completion of his degree in biology was bittersweet. He was the first and the only one in his family to have graduated from college,
however, there were not a lot of opportunities for a young African–American male in 1957, in small town Alabama. After taking few odd jobs, he
decided to enlist in the military. My father had encountered many challenges in his life, but one of his toughest was seeking to date my mother. He was

Personal Narrative: My Dad
What keeps me up at night is how privileged I am. My father grew up in a very poverty stricken town, Guanajuato. Even though his family owned a
great deal of land to cultivate fruits, they were barely able to make ends meet. My Grandma and father would have to wake up at 5 am to walk all
the way to the other side of town and then catch a bus to a nearby town, Celaya, to sell what they had harvested. While there, my father would go to a
nearby wasteland to find any old toys or clothes others had thrown out. This was a continuous thing until my dad, at the age of 15 decided to come to
the United States, with nothing else other than a few extra pairs of raggedy clothes, that he had gotten from the wasteland. My father stayed in Texas to

I remember when my Dad and I were at my old house playing catch. After we would finish playing catch he would tell me what I need to work on and
help me out. My Dad helps out a lot of people, like his patients. He is a very skilled eye doctor and helps many people everyday. He is also a very
good athlete, ever since he was a kid to a grown man.
First off, he is a very good athlete, my dad and I have always been involved in competitive sports. We often times play each other in the yard and get
very competitive. Some days I would beat my dad and some days he would beat me, but I always have a good time. He has ran in marathons and he has
ridden his bike for many miles. He was also an amazing baseball player as a kid, he would tell me how he could field any ball hit to him and hit the
ball anywhere he wanted to. He would say that he was on the all star team that has the best players. He also played a lot of football in high school
and was the star running back, scoring a lot of touchdowns and juking all the players. Since my dad is able to have many athletic abilities, his skills

Speech About My Dad
My dad is someone I have always looked up to. He has always been there for me and has helped me through everything. He tries everything just to
make my sisters and me happy. My dad is one of the most hard working and respected person I know. He will always go out of his way for other
people. For all my life my dad has always tried toughen me up and be the most independent person I can be. He has always told me to try and have
fun. Three stories come into mind about my dad. Throughout these stories he has taught me to never give up, to do things for the happiness of
others, and to enjoy the beauty of nature. It was spring break, I was around 7 years old, and my family and I were on a vacation in Florida with a lot of
our friends. We have always loved to water ski ever since I was little. At this time I have never been able to get up water skiing before. I've always tried

Descriptive Essay About My Father
Oh, how mistaken my Dad was. I remember him looking down at me, my Dad a towering height of 6'6 and I a height of 3'5, telling me that I wasn't
reading. I remember looking down and getting sad and angry, that I thought I was reading.
When I was younger, I loved to "read". By reading, I mean being read to by my parents every night. One of my parents would lay beside me every
night on my twin sized day bed. I would snuggle underneath my quilted blanket that my grandmother made for me, and get ready for an adventure.
Our two golden retrievers, George, and Baldwin, would be either on or next to my bed, being content with just being near my parents and me. Every
night I would expect a story of adventure. Both of my parents were constantly...show more content...
"I can read The Fourteen Bears, Summer and Winter all by myself!" I said, my smile somehow growing larger. My Dad smiled a bit more and laughed,
"Mimi, you aren't "reading" the book, you just memorized it." He said laughing. I started to get sad and angry, my smile disappearing, and I started to
tear up. My Dad saw my frown and stopped laughing. "Mimi, It's ok if you don't know how to read yet, I know you'll learn," My Dad said with a
smile. I didn't return the smile, as I was still angry that he said that. I was reading! I looked at the words and said what they were! I didn't get what he
was saying!
Over time, something clicked. One night, with my mom sitting next to me, I narrowed my eyes and looked at the words. I looked at them,
remembering what my teachers taught me at Montessori, and I put two and two together. I started reading! It was slow and steady. I couldn't read
some of the bigger words, but I did it! I was reading! My mom was ecstatic and so was my Dad. From that spark, a great fire ignited. My love of
reading grew and I would read almost everyday. At Montessori, as a Kindergartner, I could read better than some of the fourth and fifth graders. I
even tried to teach my little brother how to read by setting a pile of books in front of him, and reading and describing the words. My parents loved it,
and they went out of their way to get me more and more books. When I entered elementary school, my parents bought me over $100

My Dad Essay
My father is not a father. Technically, sure he's a father, but in every other meaning of the word he is not. My dad made my life miserable at a
young age by acting like a teenager and forcing me to be responsible. At the same time, I learned what is important in life and I have learned from his
mistakes. He changed my life for the better.
My dad was never meant to be a dad. He still acts like a teenager even today.
My father was hired at a factory right out of high school and moved up the ranks to a supervisor, a high paying job, when I was born. he decided to
quit seven years later after not getting the manager position he wanted, without having a backup plan. He then became depressed. He was doing

Even when my family targets me, I am still there for them and will continue to support them as long as I am able.
Through his mistakes my father has taught me what is important in my life. My dad has made more mistakes than I can count, but from every one
he has made, I have learned from. The biggest one in my opinion is having kids at such a young age and not having a plan or high paying job. He
taught me that family is more important than work. He did not appreciate either and my family is fairly dysfunctional because of it. My father's
back–up plan for anything is just spend more money to fix whatever he did or did not do such as missing a court date and him not having a job just
leaches off the rest of my family. Some things you must learn by experience. Everyone tells you that drugs are evil and to stay away from them,
but teenagers are still curious and will try them out anyway. That is not the case for me as I have personally seen how they destroy lives, kill
people, and ruin futures. There is no happiness in them except those few moments when you take them, which can also be hell as well, including
right after you take them. My father, being in the drug world has many friends, some decent people with unacceptable habits, most terrible people
with worse actions. Over half of my dads "friends" are in prison or jail and about half of them have screwed him or our

The man above all the rest, because of his influence on my life, is my dad. He is so special to me that it's hard to put it in words. My dad is the one
who had me knowing in my heart by 7th grade, maybe even sooner, that I wanted to teach someday and that I wanted to coach. My dad was a 5th
and 6th grade teacher for 23 years. During these years he coached track, softball, volleyball, and my favorite sport, basketball. I think I probably had a
basketball in my hands when I was born!

I have so many vivid memories of my dad in front of a classroom captivating his "audience". I remember during a science lesson on the parts of the
body he had middle school students playing "The knee bone's connected to the...". He had the respect of his students and, in return, they worked hard
for him. He had the ability and opportunity to influence each and every one of their lives. I hope I will someday have a similar influence on my
students. I have many special memories of helping my dad with bulletin boards (not always willingly!), correcting papers (which I did enjoy!), reading
stories for contests, and just observing him.
My dad's a principal now of an elementary school, but he is probably one of the most visible, active principals I've ever known. My dad plays his
guitar and sings during school assemblies. How many principals do that? The kids, teachers, and parents all get a kick out of that. Since he was a
teacher for so many years, the teachers feel more like he is "one of them", not an egotistical administrator that feels he is so much better than
everyone else. He really loves and cares about the kids. He's so proud of the students in his school, always cutting their pictures out of the paper and
having kids be "principal for the day".
Many people have influenced me to become a teacher through their example and their sincere concern for me. Some great people listened to me and

My Life With My Father Essay
The One Week That Will Last a Lifetime Isn 't it funny how fast life can seem to pass by? Often we are so caught up in the daily actions of the
world that we miss certain things in the meantime. As if we all have infinite time to do infinite things with the people that we carry dearly in our
hearts every single day. Life as we know however, is not always this beautiful. I found this outthe hard way by losing my father, and falling into a
depression I struggle with everyday. I had a very interesting and in what most cases I consider myself to be a "modern" type of relationship with
my father. My parents had divorced when I was a child, I would go with my mom on weekdays, and my dad on weekends. Most of the time. In the
year 2013 my dad, because of the health of my grandmother was forced to move to Grand Junction. While 16 at the time, I knew that this was
indeed something he needed to do. This only made our time together less frequent than it was already was. I was a very peculiar son however, I
loved my parents there was never any question of that fact. Due to the little time I got to spend with my father however, I always felt as if our
relationship never evolved to the biggest it could be. After graduating high school last year, there was a new sense of commitment in myself however.
I was about to get a car and soon would be able to travel to and from Grand Junction at my own discretion and that couldn't have excited me more.
Finally, a chance to get that relationship

My Memories Of My Dad
As I watched family members speak about my grandpa's accomplishments, realization finally dawned on me, I thought to myself, this is real. This
one misfortune got me thinking about how my grandpa lived life. As I think about my grandpa, I see how he was a prideful, but humble man. He
had a raspy, broad voice. His laugh might have been obnoxious to others, but to me it was music to my ears. I remember all his guitars sitting in a
room, it reminds me of his admiration of music. My grandpa's smell is something that I can't seem to remember, and it's painful. His presence is
something I will always yearn to be in one more day. I was always smiling and laughing with my grandpa. When somebody says grandpa, I can't
help, but think about him chasing me around the house trying to grasp me in his arms. It truly makes me smile. My grandfather has truly inspired
me to strive for success in life. I'll never use time foolishly again, because no matter how much we think we have with a loved one, it will never be
as much as we desire. As we drove to the hospital I had my headphones in trying to block out the chatter between my sisters. The moment I wiped
my sweaty palms on my jeans I knew I was nervous. I start to think of the reason why we are driving to the hospital. I remember it was just a bland
day in the Impomeni household, we woke up and just hung out. My dad decided to get us lunch that day, so as we were dishing ourselves up my
dad's phone rang. I could hear my mom's frantic

One Friday night, my dad and I were sitting around the fire talking about all of grandpa's past memories. I will never be able to forget this story. In
my future, I can only hope my love story will be this good. One day along time ago, my grandpa started out his day by going to school like he
would any other day. When he got to school, there was always a little girl standing outside in the frigid weather. The air was as cold as Satan's soul.
The young girl had no jacket, gloves, or anything that would help keep her warm. Everyday he walked by her, he always gave a nice smile and went
on with his day. This young girl had a beautiful smile, you could recognize it out of everyone. He never thought anything about her throughout the day.

Thanks to My Hardworking Father Essay

Thanks to My Hardworking Father It is very fortunate for a kid to have his father around. In the last thirty years, having both parents in the household
was rare. Most of my friends I grew up with only had their mother around. To all the mothers that were strong enough to raise a boy to be a man, I
commend you. However, I was very fortunate to have both parents in my household. I would like to thank my father for showing me what a
hardworking man truly is, for teaching me how to be responsible, and teaching me why it's better to work hard for my money than take the easy route
like selling drugs. First of all, I thank my father for showing me what a hardworking...show more content...
It was never anything outrageous but it was definitely a good motivator. My father never tried to spoil me, but there was always a lesson to be
learned in everything he did for me. If he gave me something for doing what I was supposed to do, he would tell me that God's reward for me
being responsible is even greater. My father continually stressed to me that when you work hard for the money, there is always a greater reward at
the end. Finally, I thank my father for teaching me that a real man works hard for his money. My father always said if a person takes the easy route
to get money, that person won't appreciate anything. I didn't understand what my father meant by that until I got older. Seeing people sell drugs to
get money, I noticed that those people didn't care how the money was spent. I would see those people buying clothes, which were ridiculously
expensive; like five or six hundred dollar shirts. These guys had no clue about how to work hard for their money, so they didn't care how fast it was
spent. Then I saw a hard working man who cherished every dime he worked for. In the end, what my father was trying to teach me was that there are
benefits for those that work hard, and none for those that don't. In conclusion, I thank my father for being there to teach me how to be a hardworking
man, the importance of being responsible, and how nothing comes easily.

Descriptive Essay About My Dad
Have you ever had a hero in your life, someone that is always there for you when you need them? I did, I called him "my dad." My dad was the only
person that could make me laugh when I was feeling down. My dad was that person who had so much love for his family. My dad was the person who

worst dreams did I ever see my dad having cancer. The man that I looked up to, and loved to pieces had cancer. I was devastated, I remember crying

About a year after being diagnosed, his doctor told him that he was cancer free. He was so happy; his face was all smiles. I had never seen him so
happy in his entire life. It was such a beautiful sight seeing my old mans face that lit up, he told everyone that he was cancer free. I was so proud of
my father for being that strong, cancer couldn't even bring him down.

My Family, My Dad Essay
My immediate family is rather small, it consists of my Dad age 55, my Mom age 60 and myself age 21. All three of us are Caucasian. My Mom
and Dad got married when they were much older, and they did not have me until they were 40 years of age. They are a little more traditional and they
each take on their own roles in the family along with myself. My mother works Monday to Friday however she is the one who cooks the meals
every evening, the one who cleans the house, does laundry and does the grocery shopping. My Dad works a longer day and makes the majority of
our household income. He comes home and enjoys his evening watching the news and then sports. I go to school, work, and then I come home to a
home cooked meal, and a clean house. The boundaries are fairly rigid in my household, my dad mostly stays away from the cooking, grocery
shopping and cleaning as that is my mother's role in the house and as much as she can complain about it I do believe she would be lost without it.
There are only two subsystems identified in my family, they would be husband–wife, and parent–child.
External Structure
The external structure falls into two subcategories which consists of the extended family and large systems.
Extended Family
My mothers extended family consists of her father Borden who died at the age of 70 from Alzheimer's. Her mother who still lives on her own in
Halifax at the age of 92 with no major health concerns. She also has two sisters Beverly 65 who lives in Halifax and

Personal Narrative-My Hero, My Dad
My Hero, My Dad
The wind was cold and bit deeply into the skin on my exposed legs and chest. I shivered a little, shielding my face against the cold by putting my back
to the wind. Standing alone on the platform, high against the background of the rest of the park sent shivers tightly down my spine. I watched the goose
bumps raise neatly on my arms and legs. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, sighed out my anxieties and jumped.
I was quickly being violently thrashed about inside the fiberglass tube, working my way down the cascading waterfall of death. The water slide threw

There was disorder on the outside. Apparently everyone thought I was in trouble. I did not think so. The serene clarity of my water wonderland put my
mind at ease.
Unfortunately the concussion I suffered from the water slide skewed my judgment, if only slightly. A lifeguard immediately recognized my situation
and, accordingly, leapt into the pool, bubbly with the thought of saving a life. He quickly and accurately swam across the watery expanse determined
to put his training to use, saving a complete stranger. Lying at the bottom of the pool, I was completely unaware of the goings on up above. All I
remember was the hand.
My rescuer's hand plunged through the glassy surface above and took a hold of mine. I was drawn from my trance as I was drawn from the water. I
immediately gasped for air, thrashing as the oxygen started to fill my lungs. At first I couldn't tell who carried me to the side of the pool, focusing on
breathing, feeling like I had never used my lungs before. When I caught my breath, I stared into my lifesaver's face. To my surprise my father's eyes
stared back.
Astonishing onlookers and baffling the lifeguard on duty, my dad heroically jumped in the water, beat the trained guard to me and plucked me from
the blissful waters through his love for his son. All this time my rescuer, my savior, was my own dad. I did not even realize he was near enough to

My dad is my hero, he goes by the name of Ray Williams. My dad is a preacher but not your typical preacher. Just because he is a preacher he doesn't
stop me from living my life and having fun that's what I love about him. People always see my father as one of the "cool dads". Some of the reason he

my hero because he is always there for me. When I was in 6th grade my parents got divorced and life hasn't been the same ever since, but my dad has

offers to take us all out to eat and pay for everybody's food even if my friends have money. My dad has a huge heart, and nobody can take that from
him. The last reason why my dad is my hero is that he supports me in anything and everything I do. My dad is the most supportive person I could
ever think of. Whatever I decide to do (unless it's something completely out of the box), he is by my side. He always says, "If it makes you happy I'm

A Day With My Father: My Cross-Country Trip and Reunion

  • 1. Descriptive Essay On A Day With My Father As the line's length continued to decrease, I continued to hug my mom. We were on our way to see my Dad in California, and by we I mean only my brother and I. Yep,that's right,me and my brother were flying across the country BY OURSELVES to see our dad in California. Not only that, it was a 12 hour flight with two stops. The whole flight consisted of a stop in Houston,TX a stop in Seattle,Washington, welcoming, humorous flight attendants, and a dramatic little brother. But it was totally worth it knowing that I would see my dad for the first time in a whole year. When we landed in the airport, it was almost empty and looked nice with neat carpeting and organization whereas the airport in New York looked chaotic. I was in the middle of a conversation with my mom to inform her that we landed when all of the sudden my brother, Ethan cried out "DADDY!!!!!". I looked up as my Dad was walking towards us and I couldn't help but smile while on the other hand, Ethan ran up to my dad and started hugging him while crying at the same time. My dad lifted him up and carried him to the place where our step–family was waiting. When I saw them I didn't know what to say other than "hi". Everybody else murmured "hi" in an awkward way. We took a picture right there and then headed to the exit. I walked beside my dad while Ethan was still being carried by him. Outside in the parking lot was a van that we drove home in. It was the longest drive of my life. I was sitting right next to my younger Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Personal Narrative: My Dad My dad was an alcoholic all my memories consisted of me coming home from my babysitters or school, he would be drunk passed out on the couch with beer bottles everywhere, and nascar on the television. This one night everything seemed to be normal my dad made dinner, my mom got stuck with the dishes. I came out of my room right before I went to bed and I saw my dad sitting at the glass table that is on our porch in the backyard. I went out to see what he was doing and he was smoking a vanilla cuban cigar, my mom came and took me to bed. Little did I know in a few hours every memory in the house was not going to compare to this one. My mom ran into mine and my sisters rooms telling us we needed to get up, I asked her many times "what's happening" Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My Father: the Person I Admire Most Essays My Father: The Person I Admire Most Over time, there have been several people who have influenced various aspects of my life, based on their personal characteristics, accomplishments, and values. I have been privileged to have had numerous teachers and professors who I respect for their patience and intelligence. There are artists that have inspired me by their natural talents and original creativity. I value many political leaders, who have inspired me by their contributions to society, and their ability to change our futures. Of all the people I have encountered in my life, the person I admire most is my father. As the youngest girl in my family, I always considered myself to be "Daddy's little girl." Growing up it always made...show more content... No matter how tired he was from his long work week, he would be up bright and early Saturday morning to attend any of our sporting events, tournaments, or recitals, and then chauffeur us and our friends to slumber parties or school dances. He was always very protective and kept a watchful eye over us. My father's protectiveness and selflessness generated at a young age for him. He is the ninth of twelve children, and often told us stories of how he had to look after, and practically raise his three younger siblings after my grandfather had passed. He made certain they completed their chores around my grandmother's farm, maintained good hygiene practices, and kept up with their schoolwork. School was extremely important to my father, because he knew an education was the only way he could be successful. Proudly, he finished high school at the age of sixteen, but could not follow the footsteps of his older brothers and join the military, because he was too young. Therefore, he decided to continue his studies. The completion of his degree in biology was bittersweet. He was the first and the only one in his family to have graduated from college, however, there were not a lot of opportunities for a young African–American male in 1957, in small town Alabama. After taking few odd jobs, he decided to enlist in the military. My father had encountered many challenges in his life, but one of his toughest was seeking to date my mother. • 4. Personal Narrative: My Dad What keeps me up at night is how privileged I am. My father grew up in a very poverty stricken town, Guanajuato. Even though his family owned a great deal of land to cultivate fruits, they were barely able to make ends meet. My Grandma and father would have to wake up at 5 am to walk all the way to the other side of town and then catch a bus to a nearby town, Celaya, to sell what they had harvested. While there, my father would go to a nearby wasteland to find any old toys or clothes others had thrown out. This was a continuous thing until my dad, at the age of 15 decided to come to the United States, with nothing else other than a few extra pairs of raggedy clothes, that he had gotten from the wasteland. My father stayed in Texas to help provide Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Personal Narrative: My Dad I remember when my Dad and I were at my old house playing catch. After we would finish playing catch he would tell me what I need to work on and help me out. My Dad helps out a lot of people, like his patients. He is a very skilled eye doctor and helps many people everyday. He is also a very good athlete, ever since he was a kid to a grown man. First off, he is a very good athlete, my dad and I have always been involved in competitive sports. We often times play each other in the yard and get very competitive. Some days I would beat my dad and some days he would beat me, but I always have a good time. He has ran in marathons and he has ridden his bike for many miles. He was also an amazing baseball player as a kid, he would tell me how he could field any ball hit to him and hit the ball anywhere he wanted to. He would say that he was on the all star team that has the best players. He also played a lot of football in high school and was the star running back, scoring a lot of touchdowns and juking all the players. He also had to pull metal out of a guy's eye, he said that he was nervous, but still got the piece of metal out. He has been successful ever since he came from Malaysia, he is very talented in many ways, he is hardworking, and almost never gives up. My dad has encouraged me to always do my best, always study hard, and to be the best person I can be. If my dad was not here, I think I would be a very different person than who I am today. My dad has also inspired me to one day become a great doctor like him. In this essay I will go more in depth and tell you how much of an inspirational person my dad is. This inspires me to either become a doctor, or an architect, and he inspires me to play tennis in high Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Speech About My Dad My dad is someone I have always looked up to. He has always been there for me and has helped me through everything. He tries everything just to make my sisters and me happy. My dad is one of the most hard working and respected person I know. He will always go out of his way for other people. For all my life my dad has always tried toughen me up and be the most independent person I can be. He has always told me to try and have fun. Three stories come into mind about my dad. Throughout these stories he has taught me to never give up, to do things for the happiness of others, and to enjoy the beauty of nature. It was spring break, I was around 7 years old, and my family and I were on a vacation in Florida with a lot of our friends. We have always loved to water ski ever since I was little. At this time I have never been able to get up water skiing before. I've always tried I have just never been able to do it. So one day on the vacation my dad asks "hey do want to try and ski today?". I responded with " I guess". So It was just me and my dad and we took the boat out on the lake. The whole trip I never really wanted to go in the water because I was scared that there were alligators in the lake. But when we went out, my dad kept saying "there's nothing to worry about i'll be right here". So i get in the water. put the skis that he made for me on, and he starts the boat up. On the first try I was able to get up water–skiing for the first time ever. i was so Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Descriptive Essay About My Father Oh, how mistaken my Dad was. I remember him looking down at me, my Dad a towering height of 6'6 and I a height of 3'5, telling me that I wasn't reading. I remember looking down and getting sad and angry, that I thought I was reading. When I was younger, I loved to "read". By reading, I mean being read to by my parents every night. One of my parents would lay beside me every night on my twin sized day bed. I would snuggle underneath my quilted blanket that my grandmother made for me, and get ready for an adventure. Our two golden retrievers, George, and Baldwin, would be either on or next to my bed, being content with just being near my parents and me. Every night I would expect a story of adventure. Both of my parents were constantly...show more content... "I can read The Fourteen Bears, Summer and Winter all by myself!" I said, my smile somehow growing larger. My Dad smiled a bit more and laughed, "Mimi, you aren't "reading" the book, you just memorized it." He said laughing. I started to get sad and angry, my smile disappearing, and I started to tear up. My Dad saw my frown and stopped laughing. "Mimi, It's ok if you don't know how to read yet, I know you'll learn," My Dad said with a smile. I didn't return the smile, as I was still angry that he said that. I was reading! I looked at the words and said what they were! I didn't get what he was saying! Over time, something clicked. One night, with my mom sitting next to me, I narrowed my eyes and looked at the words. I looked at them, remembering what my teachers taught me at Montessori, and I put two and two together. I started reading! It was slow and steady. I couldn't read some of the bigger words, but I did it! I was reading! My mom was ecstatic and so was my Dad. From that spark, a great fire ignited. My love of reading grew and I would read almost everyday. At Montessori, as a Kindergartner, I could read better than some of the fourth and fifth graders. I even tried to teach my little brother how to read by setting a pile of books in front of him, and reading and describing the words. My parents loved it, and they went out of their way to get me more and more books. When I entered elementary school, my parents bought me over $100 Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. My Dad Essay My father is not a father. Technically, sure he's a father, but in every other meaning of the word he is not. My dad made my life miserable at a young age by acting like a teenager and forcing me to be responsible. At the same time, I learned what is important in life and I have learned from his mistakes. He changed my life for the better. My dad was never meant to be a dad. He still acts like a teenager even today. My father was hired at a factory right out of high school and moved up the ranks to a supervisor, a high paying job, when I was born. he decided to quit seven years later after not getting the manager position he wanted, without having a backup plan. He then became depressed. He was doing nothing and became depressed over the...show more content... Even when my family targets me, I am still there for them and will continue to support them as long as I am able. Through his mistakes my father has taught me what is important in my life. My dad has made more mistakes than I can count, but from every one he has made, I have learned from. The biggest one in my opinion is having kids at such a young age and not having a plan or high paying job. He taught me that family is more important than work. He did not appreciate either and my family is fairly dysfunctional because of it. My father's back–up plan for anything is just spend more money to fix whatever he did or did not do such as missing a court date and him not having a job just leaches off the rest of my family. Some things you must learn by experience. Everyone tells you that drugs are evil and to stay away from them, but teenagers are still curious and will try them out anyway. That is not the case for me as I have personally seen how they destroy lives, kill people, and ruin futures. There is no happiness in them except those few moments when you take them, which can also be hell as well, including right after you take them. My father, being in the drug world has many friends, some decent people with unacceptable habits, most terrible people with worse actions. Over half of my dads "friends" are in prison or jail and about half of them have screwed him or our Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Dad Essay The man above all the rest, because of his influence on my life, is my dad. He is so special to me that it's hard to put it in words. My dad is the one who had me knowing in my heart by 7th grade, maybe even sooner, that I wanted to teach someday and that I wanted to coach. My dad was a 5th and 6th grade teacher for 23 years. During these years he coached track, softball, volleyball, and my favorite sport, basketball. I think I probably had a basketball in my hands when I was born! My sisters and I used to travel to games with him on the bus with their crazy bus driver, Mr. Krueger. The team membersalways welcomed us, and we had a blast. My dad used to say as Mr. Krueger wildly whipped around another corner, "don't you tell...show more content... I have so many vivid memories of my dad in front of a classroom captivating his "audience". I remember during a science lesson on the parts of the body he had middle school students playing "The knee bone's connected to the...". He had the respect of his students and, in return, they worked hard for him. He had the ability and opportunity to influence each and every one of their lives. I hope I will someday have a similar influence on my students. I have many special memories of helping my dad with bulletin boards (not always willingly!), correcting papers (which I did enjoy!), reading stories for contests, and just observing him. My dad's a principal now of an elementary school, but he is probably one of the most visible, active principals I've ever known. My dad plays his guitar and sings during school assemblies. How many principals do that? The kids, teachers, and parents all get a kick out of that. Since he was a teacher for so many years, the teachers feel more like he is "one of them", not an egotistical administrator that feels he is so much better than everyone else. He really loves and cares about the kids. He's so proud of the students in his school, always cutting their pictures out of the paper and having kids be "principal for the day". Many people have influenced me to become a teacher through their example and their sincere concern for me. Some great people listened to me and are now my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Life With My Father Essay The One Week That Will Last a Lifetime Isn 't it funny how fast life can seem to pass by? Often we are so caught up in the daily actions of the world that we miss certain things in the meantime. As if we all have infinite time to do infinite things with the people that we carry dearly in our hearts every single day. Life as we know however, is not always this beautiful. I found this outthe hard way by losing my father, and falling into a depression I struggle with everyday. I had a very interesting and in what most cases I consider myself to be a "modern" type of relationship with my father. My parents had divorced when I was a child, I would go with my mom on weekdays, and my dad on weekends. Most of the time. In the year 2013 my dad, because of the health of my grandmother was forced to move to Grand Junction. While 16 at the time, I knew that this was indeed something he needed to do. This only made our time together less frequent than it was already was. I was a very peculiar son however, I loved my parents there was never any question of that fact. Due to the little time I got to spend with my father however, I always felt as if our relationship never evolved to the biggest it could be. After graduating high school last year, there was a new sense of commitment in myself however. I was about to get a car and soon would be able to travel to and from Grand Junction at my own discretion and that couldn't have excited me more. Finally, a chance to get that relationship Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Memories Of My Dad As I watched family members speak about my grandpa's accomplishments, realization finally dawned on me, I thought to myself, this is real. This one misfortune got me thinking about how my grandpa lived life. As I think about my grandpa, I see how he was a prideful, but humble man. He had a raspy, broad voice. His laugh might have been obnoxious to others, but to me it was music to my ears. I remember all his guitars sitting in a room, it reminds me of his admiration of music. My grandpa's smell is something that I can't seem to remember, and it's painful. His presence is something I will always yearn to be in one more day. I was always smiling and laughing with my grandpa. When somebody says grandpa, I can't help, but think about him chasing me around the house trying to grasp me in his arms. It truly makes me smile. My grandfather has truly inspired me to strive for success in life. I'll never use time foolishly again, because no matter how much we think we have with a loved one, it will never be as much as we desire. As we drove to the hospital I had my headphones in trying to block out the chatter between my sisters. The moment I wiped my sweaty palms on my jeans I knew I was nervous. I start to think of the reason why we are driving to the hospital. I remember it was just a bland day in the Impomeni household, we woke up and just hung out. My dad decided to get us lunch that day, so as we were dishing ourselves up my dad's phone rang. I could hear my mom's frantic Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Personal Narrative: My Dad One Friday night, my dad and I were sitting around the fire talking about all of grandpa's past memories. I will never be able to forget this story. In my future, I can only hope my love story will be this good. One day along time ago, my grandpa started out his day by going to school like he would any other day. When he got to school, there was always a little girl standing outside in the frigid weather. The air was as cold as Satan's soul. The young girl had no jacket, gloves, or anything that would help keep her warm. Everyday he walked by her, he always gave a nice smile and went on with his day. This young girl had a beautiful smile, you could recognize it out of everyone. He never thought anything about her throughout the day. Years Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Thanks to My Hardworking Father Essay Jose Quiles Prof. J. Robinson Eng 100–F80 August 06, 2009 Thanks to My Hardworking Father It is very fortunate for a kid to have his father around. In the last thirty years, having both parents in the household was rare. Most of my friends I grew up with only had their mother around. To all the mothers that were strong enough to raise a boy to be a man, I commend you. However, I was very fortunate to have both parents in my household. I would like to thank my father for showing me what a hardworking man truly is, for teaching me how to be responsible, and teaching me why it's better to work hard for my money than take the easy route like selling drugs. First of all, I thank my father for showing me what a hardworking...show more content... It was never anything outrageous but it was definitely a good motivator. My father never tried to spoil me, but there was always a lesson to be learned in everything he did for me. If he gave me something for doing what I was supposed to do, he would tell me that God's reward for me being responsible is even greater. My father continually stressed to me that when you work hard for the money, there is always a greater reward at the end. Finally, I thank my father for teaching me that a real man works hard for his money. My father always said if a person takes the easy route to get money, that person won't appreciate anything. I didn't understand what my father meant by that until I got older. Seeing people sell drugs to get money, I noticed that those people didn't care how the money was spent. I would see those people buying clothes, which were ridiculously expensive; like five or six hundred dollar shirts. These guys had no clue about how to work hard for their money, so they didn't care how fast it was spent. Then I saw a hard working man who cherished every dime he worked for. In the end, what my father was trying to teach me was that there are benefits for those that work hard, and none for those that don't. In conclusion, I thank my father for being there to teach me how to be a hardworking man, the importance of being responsible, and how nothing comes easily. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Descriptive Essay About My Dad Have you ever had a hero in your life, someone that is always there for you when you need them? I did, I called him "my dad." My dad was the only person that could make me laugh when I was feeling down. My dad was that person who had so much love for his family. My dad was the person who I could call and he'd always pick up. My dad was the person who would drop everything just to help me. My dad was the biggest hero in my life and to this day, still is. My dad has always been my biggest motivator and the reason for growing up the way I did. We had a very tight relationship; I was definitely a "daddy's girl." I always wanted to be around him, he was someone I looked up to when I was younger. I always looked at him like he was so much more ...show more content... He was paying out of pocket for everything because the government kept on denying his request for disability and social security income. I remember always seeing him take fifteen pills at a time with every meal he would eat. My dad got diagnosed with prostate cancer in early 2014. It was a hard year for my family, and I still remember it like it was yesterday. Not even in my worst dreams did I ever see my dad having cancer. The man that I looked up to, and loved to pieces had cancer. I was devastated, I remember crying and being afraid that I was going to lose him to an incurable disease that lurked the lives of many. About a year after being diagnosed, his doctor told him that he was cancer free. He was so happy; his face was all smiles. I had never seen him so happy in his entire life. It was such a beautiful sight seeing my old mans face that lit up, he told everyone that he was cancer free. I was so proud of my father for being that strong, cancer couldn't even bring him down. Early 2016, my dad became very ill and it wasn't going away. He realized that going to the emergency room was his only option. My mom took him to the emergency room, and they transferred him to the Lovelace cancer center. They explained to him that he had stage 4 colon cancer and there was nothing more they could do. The doctor who told him the news told him that he would have 6 months to live after his colonoscopy had taken place. It had been more than 6 Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. My Family, My Dad Essay My immediate family is rather small, it consists of my Dad age 55, my Mom age 60 and myself age 21. All three of us are Caucasian. My Mom and Dad got married when they were much older, and they did not have me until they were 40 years of age. They are a little more traditional and they each take on their own roles in the family along with myself. My mother works Monday to Friday however she is the one who cooks the meals every evening, the one who cleans the house, does laundry and does the grocery shopping. My Dad works a longer day and makes the majority of our household income. He comes home and enjoys his evening watching the news and then sports. I go to school, work, and then I come home to a home cooked meal, and a clean house. The boundaries are fairly rigid in my household, my dad mostly stays away from the cooking, grocery shopping and cleaning as that is my mother's role in the house and as much as she can complain about it I do believe she would be lost without it. There are only two subsystems identified in my family, they would be husband–wife, and parent–child. External Structure The external structure falls into two subcategories which consists of the extended family and large systems. Extended Family My mothers extended family consists of her father Borden who died at the age of 70 from Alzheimer's. Her mother who still lives on her own in Halifax at the age of 92 with no major health concerns. She also has two sisters Beverly 65 who lives in Halifax and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Personal Narrative-My Hero, My Dad My Hero, My Dad The wind was cold and bit deeply into the skin on my exposed legs and chest. I shivered a little, shielding my face against the cold by putting my back to the wind. Standing alone on the platform, high against the background of the rest of the park sent shivers tightly down my spine. I watched the goose bumps raise neatly on my arms and legs. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, sighed out my anxieties and jumped. I was quickly being violently thrashed about inside the fiberglass tube, working my way down the cascading waterfall of death. The water slide threw me like a rag doll in the air only to catch me again with the gentleness of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. This jolt sent my head...show more content... There was disorder on the outside. Apparently everyone thought I was in trouble. I did not think so. The serene clarity of my water wonderland put my mind at ease. Unfortunately the concussion I suffered from the water slide skewed my judgment, if only slightly. A lifeguard immediately recognized my situation and, accordingly, leapt into the pool, bubbly with the thought of saving a life. He quickly and accurately swam across the watery expanse determined to put his training to use, saving a complete stranger. Lying at the bottom of the pool, I was completely unaware of the goings on up above. All I remember was the hand. My rescuer's hand plunged through the glassy surface above and took a hold of mine. I was drawn from my trance as I was drawn from the water. I immediately gasped for air, thrashing as the oxygen started to fill my lungs. At first I couldn't tell who carried me to the side of the pool, focusing on breathing, feeling like I had never used my lungs before. When I caught my breath, I stared into my lifesaver's face. To my surprise my father's eyes stared back. Astonishing onlookers and baffling the lifeguard on duty, my dad heroically jumped in the water, beat the trained guard to me and plucked me from the blissful waters through his love for his son. All this time my rescuer, my savior, was my own dad. I did not even realize he was near enough to

  • 20. My Dad Essay My dad is my hero, he goes by the name of Ray Williams. My dad is a preacher but not your typical preacher. Just because he is a preacher he doesn't stop me from living my life and having fun that's what I love about him. People always see my father as one of the "cool dads". Some of the reason he is my hero is that he is strong, helpful, and always there for me. Trust and believe that's not even the half of it. One of the main reasons my dad is my hero because he is always there for me. When I was in 6th grade my parents got divorced and life hasn't been the same ever since, but my dad has always encouraged me and ensured me that everything was gonna be okay. Whatever I needed he tried his hardest to provide. Not to mention I...show more content... If they need anything he tries to help them out even though he knows it isn't his responsibility. Another example of how my father helps others is when my friends or my sibling's friends need a ride my father will give it. If they need a couple dollars he doesn't mind helping them out. My dad even offers to take us all out to eat and pay for everybody's food even if my friends have money. My dad has a huge heart, and nobody can take that from him. The last reason why my dad is my hero is that he supports me in anything and everything I do. My dad is the most supportive person I could ever think of. Whatever I decide to do (unless it's something completely out of the box), he is by my side. He always says, "If it makes you happy I'm happy". He just wants what's best for me just like any other parent would for their child, but it feels different for me. I know for a fact when I'm in trouble he is always gonna be there to help. I fall down is always there to pick me back up again, and at the end of the day no matter how much I get on his nerves, and how hard of a time I always give him he's never gonna leave me In conclusion, my dad is a blessing, and I wouldn't replace him for all the money in the world. Many people don't have a dad or take their father for granted, but I'm so grateful for mine. He never judges me, and never will, and I know he's "Team Alisha" till the day I die. Therefore, it is safe to say, my father, Ray Williams is my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
