Manifest Destiny was seen as a motivation towards Americans. Manifest destiny is a belief that the expansion of the United States were justified. The
Manifest Destiny was able to develop a relationship with land and controlling something that can not really be possessed. There are three texts that
support the concept of Manifest Destiny. The first text is, "American Progress" by John Gast, he showed motivation through a painting, the second text,

Lewis and Clarke are rewarded for their adventure westward. While in the west, Lewis and Clarke found plants that had never been seen before. The
plants excited the members of the American Philosophical Society. At the time of 1806,Americans cannot change the way plants grow. Some people
may say the concept of Manifest Destiny did not motivate Americans, for instance, in the John Gast painting some may say that the painting was a
negative projection of the Manifest Destiny. The painting shows the buffalo running in the west. Therefore, the Native americans were being run out of

In Amy Greenberg's book, she told us, "between 1790 and 1830, the U.S. population more than tripled to nearly thirteen million people. " (Greenberg
9) When individuals started realizing there was not enough room for everyone currently living in America, they knew they had to do something. They
decided they should travel towards the land east of Mississippi in hopes of finding more land for their family and farms. While for some this meant
pursuing specific dreams, for others it meant escaping either the harsh conditions of overcrowded American rural districts such as New England, or a
range of European environments. While the families and individuals were on their search for new land, they ran into many different obstacles. All of
this in turn would solve one crisis while leading to another.
On arrival of finding this new land, the Americans came into nations that were causing the progress of finding additional territory a problem. They
wanted the land to be theirs, so it led to the removal of many different Indian nations. The Indian nations living in the area were Cherokee, Creek,

Manifest Destiny took place in the US in the mid–1800. Manifest Destiny was used among the Americans in the 1840's as a defense for U.S. territorial

The Native Americans did fight back on some occasions however the Native Americans could not withhold any longer and subsided to the Americans
control. The expansionist forced many of the Native Americans on reservations as they continued to move westward to dominate what the expansionist
thought was theirs to dominate.

bigger factor than the belief in Manifest destiny. Manifest destiny is the belief that a county has God's blessing to expand to as far as it can. This

The United States was rapidly expanding and becoming more diverse, causing these men to look past their own land. This idea was primarily favored
by the Democratic Party because they believed that contiguous land would voluntarily join the Union in order to obtain the benefits of Republican rule.

The Wilmot Proviso was a direct cause of the civil war, for it split the nation in half. Four years after the Wilmot Proviso was denied of passage in
the Senate, Southerner, John C Calhoun delivered a speech to congress. Calhoun spoke to congress about the addition of California to the US.
Because of values of Manifest Destiny, it was in a way a dream of the US to add California. However, according to Calhoun, it had be a slave state.
He wanted this because he was a southerner and the more slave states there were, the better. Also, as he says in source B, that if t California was to
be added as a free state, then the balance, or "equilibrium", would be thrown off in the Union. There would be more free states than slave states. In

The Manifest Destiny in terms of our country means the 19th–century doctrine or belief that the expansion of the US throughout the American
continents was both justified and inevitable. It was the attitude towards the American expansion, that the United States not only could but was destined

"The End of Retirement" mentioned before is a story about somebody of the name Linda May. The author is overlooking the older generation of
people from the ages sixty and up. These people called "workampers" are people who hit the bottom of the bottom. They are very poor and social
security checks can't help them live stable. They are the generation who couldn't afford to retire. They travel across the country to find seasonal
jobs to live. They are working till they end up in a coffin. These "workampers" live in RV's, in little communities close to their job. They take their
life wherever they have to work and sacrifice all their time just to make a minimum living. These people face many hardships, and just want to get
joy out of life. The older generation is in a search for more, a better life. The Manifest Destiny has caused them to have this life, and caused them to
become greedy for joy.

Women that lived through the period of the Manifest Destiny viewed it as an opportunity for them to grow. Women felt that moving west would
be a new beginning. Many women had the same or similar goals as the men did. They were rooting for civilization, comfort, and fortune. After all,

When we think about power, what comes to mind is usually related to money and authority. We tend to forget that the most powerful tool we have lies
within our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. After the thirteen colonies separated from Britainvia the Declaration of
Independence, a sense of pride and nationalism began developing in the minds of many Americans. This became apparent when the concept of manifest

of Manifest Destiny, but to the rise of Westward Expansion. Westward Expansion was the main factor that made the United States a true continental
power. The Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the nation and opened up a little known region to exploration and eventual settlement. The initial
westward expansion brought increasing mobility throughout the nation.

Manifest Destiny(1830s–1840s) The ideal of Manifest Destiny has shaped the American society during the 1830s to 1840s by establishing the
innovation of manufacture, the expansion of territorial, transportation, and communication. Though it is one of the greatest period of the westward
territorial expansions, it caused a massive conflict of social interaction, political, religious and automatically divided the gender roles in the community.

twenty days to just eight days, and the cost of transportation fell from one–hundred dollars to just fifteen dollars. (making America 275) Furthermore,
the circulation inside the American society had been enlarged by the newspaper and magazine that published into the public. People were able to
communicate better in long distances with the new technology of electric telegraph. (making America 276). As a result of the advancement of the
innovation, immigrants were attracted to America for more jobs that are open. Despite– the expansion and new innovation, Jefferson sees the Native
American as an abstraction of westward migration. (making America 245). For instance, federal government tried to convince the Indian tribes to
move farther west and exchange with money, new land, and relief from white harassment. According to Shawnee Chief in "The Age of Jackson",
stated the reason that the Indian had loss their trust with the white people. He claimed that the whites do not want the unify among the Indian and they
intend to separate their tribes. Furthermore, he claimed that the lands are never be divided, but to share and no one have a right to sell the lands,
