2. Artist Costume N.1
Costume number two was created for the second theme, purity. The dress is white and flowy, this connotes purity and
freedom which links with the other part of the song. It shows innocence and naivety which is important as it’s another core
part of the artist's internal personality. It's much liked to nature, as the dress resembles that of the fairy queen Titania, who is
said to have a cold heart but a beautiful body, this represents the character finely as it's a clear reflection of her personality.
The shoes will be kept as black lace up boots, as it connotes the darkness that slowly takes over the characters purity and
innocence and replaces it with obsession and hate. The shoes contrast the dress in a interesting juxtaposition as they are total
opposites of the character. As the character develops the shoes stay but the dress will change.
3. Artist's Costume N.2
Costume number one was chosen to show the seductiveness of the artist in the music video as it's the songs theme. However
because of the vintage 1950s vibe, I decided to go for a subtle seductiveness. The dress is red, long and buttoned, it has a split
through the middle which is what makes it look more appealing and seductive. The colour red itself connotes love and hate
which are emotions that are conveyed in the song, making the colour perfect for the artist to wear. The black heeled lace up
boots are a vintage statement and go with the outfits overall vibe, which makes them a necessary asset. The colour black
connotes darkness which is one of the key motifs that are set up in my music video. The fishnet tights go back to the whole
prospect of seductiveness as they were generally worn by erotic dancers in the early 19th century. They are a great addition to
the overall effect of the whole costume.
