The Blind Side is based on a true story about a homeless boy named Michael Other (Big Mike) who has been living with different people until the
Tuohys take him in. Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy eventually become his legal guardians and the story is about how his life improves while playing
football at Wingate high school in Tennesee. It shows his struggles with grades, and how the family and Michael are affected by the other. Because of
his giant size he goes on to get a football scholarship for the University of Mississippi. The story is about his journey.

John Lee Hancock's film, The Blind Side, is an absolutely must see. The Blind Side, is a semi biographical movie that is based on the life of a
football player named Michael Oher. The film was produced in 2009 by the Warner Bros. Production Company. The movie exemplifies the works of
talented actors and actresses, some of whom are familiar and others that are new to the acting world. The names of the Main characters are as follows:
Sandra Bullock, who plays the role of Mrs.Tuohy, Tim McGraw, who portrays Mr.Tuohy, and new comer Quinton Aaron, who plays the lead asMichael
Oher. Even though, the film seems to be over exaggerated clichГ©, it excels tremendously in acting, setting, and encouraging and inspirational
relationships. For these...show more content...
The next day Leigh Anne Tuohy wakes up and realizes that Michael is nowhere to be found and also did not take any of their belongings with him.
She runs out of the house and catches him walking out of the driveway. At that moment she demands Michael to come back and asks him would he
like to stay for Thanksgiving dinner. Michael continues to stay with the family and even pulls his grades up enough to play football for the school.
After giving Michael the unconditional love of a family, the Tuohys ask Michael would he like for them to become his legal guardians. Will Michael
find a home with the Tuohys or will he return back to the secluded and neglectful life that he once lived? The first positive characteristic of the film is
the Acting and the Characters. The actors/actresses in the film did an astounding job portraying the characters of the story. They went unfathomable
into the roles of the characters and add emotion and appeal to them. Sandra Bullock, with Quinton Aaron makes it convincing that she is Mrs.Tuohy
and that he is Michael Oher. Even though those two were the ones provide emotional appeal, the other cast masts all add something independently.
The father, Mr. Tuohy, exhibited the role of a positive male figure, who is supportive of everything that his family is involved in. Collins signifies the
role of the average American adolescent. She plays sports, has

a Catholic school because they can both play sports. The coach seems more interested in "Big Mike" more because of his size and agility. The
teachers are very concerned about the lack of education he has had, but they pull together to bring his grades up. The Tuohy family is well off and

With Michael and his circumstances and the welcoming of him in the family this enhanced his chances for his entire life, also the social mobility was
his change within the social hierarchy. Others in this story are more critical than the school, peers, teachers, coaches and some of
Leigh Anne Tuohy's friends. The racial card rears its ugly head at a football game where racial

In the movie, The Blind Side, Michael Oher's character experiences many changes. Throughout the film, he grows from a shy, uneducated boy into a
young man who belongs to a family. The film begins with Oher as a homeless youth struggling to find a place to sleep. It progresses with Oher's
fortunate meeting of the Tuohy family and concludes with Oher's ultimate transformation from a homeless boy into a successful man. A 17–year–old
atypical teenager, Michael Oher has been living with many foster parents throughout Memphis, Tennessee. He was basically an orphan because his
father dies when he was young and his mom is never around due to crack addiction. Every time he finds a new home, he runs away. He sleeps

official documents that state them as Michael's legal guardian. He then gets his own room, bed, and home, which he never had in his life before. He
even got a new car, which made him feel not only happy, but also part of a something he never had: a family. As he receives all these gifts, he
becomes more comfortable with his friends and surroundings at home and at school as well. He tested in the 98 percentile under "protective instincts".
This can be seen not only on test papers, but also in near–death situations such as stopping the airbag from killing SJ and protecting Mrs. Tuohy from
the gangsters in his hometown. Every other subject his teachers have tested him in, he has failed miserably. Therefore, Mrs. Tuohy hired a tutor,
Miss Sue, to help Michael get better grades and learn more efficiently in school. Other than schoolwork, Oher has grown into a great football
player as well; he has learned to play his position at left tackle, protecting the quarterback's blind side. With his family and his passion for football,
Michael has become more of a man. He finally speaks for himself as he did with the inspector lady and speaks for his family as he did when he beat
up the gangsters that were insulting his "mother". He is now more confident than before shown by

The Blind Side : Rhetorical Analysis Of A Film
"The Blind Side" Rhetorical Analysis of a film
Taking the bad in with the good, although you may be the perfect classification in order to be targeted in todays society. How you're classified is
based on things such as a persons race, intellect, social class, and appearance. A 2009 film, The Blind Side, written and directed by John Lee Hancock
stars, Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw, is based on a true story. This movie tells a story that truly depicts simple acts of kindness that has the
capability to change a persons life. This movie based off of a southern family living in Memphis, Tennessee will show you a true taste of southern
hospitality. In every film you have your list of characters along with their personalities and most importantly their motives. Along with the certain
qualities of every character comes the ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos which stands for the goodness of a film and/or ethics goes hand in hand with
the sender of a film, Pathos which is the passion and emotions of a film which goes hand in hand with the receiver, and lastly the logos which is the
logic/information that sends a message. Each rhetoric sends a message and surely puts a movie together. Leanne Tuohy, plays a huge role in the ethos
factor. Her ethics as a person that the director created for her character shows compassion, kindness, and selflessness. Mrs. Tuohy takes in an
African–American poverty stricken male, Michael Oher, on a rainy evening. Her senses told her that he did not have a place to go so kindly enough
she offers him her home resorting on him sleeping on a spare couch. Pulling up to the Tuohy's residence Michael was in awe at the size of their
home or shall I say mansion, little did he know that he would eventually become a part of this family shortly. Leanne shows character by her
gentleness with Michael, knowing he came from a rough part of town and was not as fortunate. She not only gives to Michael as if he was her
own, but she also cares for him as if he was her own. At a brunch with fellow friends a comment was made by one of her friends, "Honey, you're
changing that boys life" as Leanne replies she says, "No he's changing mine." The overall ethos of this movie shows that you should never judge a book

Fatlinda Osmani The Blind Side The Blind Side was a true movie about a homeless boy that had a rough life until the Tuohy family took him in.
As a child, he never had the chances that he did when living with the Tuohy family. They then adopted the boy and became his legal guardian.
After that everything got better for Michael. I would recommend this to a friend because of all the different important problems in this movie.
Race plays a big part in this movie. Michael is an African American boy, while his new family is white. Not only are their races different but their
social class is different. Michael was raised in the hood, while the Tuohy family was raised in a nice neighborhood. Examples of these in the movie
were when in the beginning Michael's friend's father drives them through an affluent neighborhood to high school. He looks around like he has never
seen anything like it before. When he does get to school, he is not welcomed nicely from his white classmates. Another example was when his
adoptive mother goes to look for him when he runs away. She goes to check in Hurt Village, which was where his biological mother used to live. Her
encounter with Alton, which was an African American, was a big cultural difference. She tells him not to step on the other side of town, which shows
how separated they are. Listening was a big thing in this film. There were plenty of scenes about listening. The one that stands out the most was when

The Blind Side – Fact vs. Fiction
"Life's a maze, you twist and you turn through it,The driest of droughts, maneuvered and I earned through it" (Clipse). During the Blind Side, Michael
Oher comes up from living on the `street to becoming an NFL football players. Throughout the film he is adopted by a new family who puts him down
the right path in life. Although the movie "The Blind Side" is similar to Michael Oher's life, there are also many things that the movie changed about
Michael's journey to add excitement to the movie.
During the Blind Side there are many similarities that the movie got correct about Michael Oher's life. One of the similarities of the film and

Another difference was that Michael was not let into the High School right away, but in the movie he does get let in. Michael Lewis also states in his
article, "When researching The Blind Side facts vs fiction, it was revealed that due to Michael Oher's poor and nearly non–existent academic record as
of 2002, the principal at Briarcrest insisted that he participate in a home school program for a few months first to get his grades up". This shows
that Michael had to do home schooling before being let into Briarcrest High School. All in all The Blind Side makes a lot of changes to add more
excitement and drama to the film. John Lee Hancock's choices in changing aspects of Michael Oher's life added excitement and drama to the
movie. For example, Hancock changes that Michael does not know how to play football. This adds drama to the movie because his adoptive family
now has to teach him how to play his position in football. Hancock also adds excitement when Michael gets into the High School right away, when
in reality he did not. This adds excitement by getting the audience excited to see what Michael will do at his new High school. These changes allow
John Lee Hancock to add excitement and drama to the movie. All in all The Blind Side is very similar to Michael Oher's life, but there are little things

Examples Of Motivation In The Blind Side Movie
Adapted from a real story, The Blind Side movie directed by John Lee Hancock in 2009 does give a lot of lessons to viewers and audiences in terms
of motivation on someone to success. Growing up without friends, siblings and he doesn't even know his father, yet still with help from the Tuohy's,
Michael Oher is now one of the shining stars in football arena. Below are some terms that have been analyzed through out the scene and characters in
the movie that portray and explain the journey of Micheal to success.
Through out the movie, there are some important characters that play a big role in shaping Michael Oher or Big Mike to become a star. Firstly, the
Tuohy's in which consist of Leigh Anne, Sean, Sean Junior (SJ) and Collins, their daughter. We also can see some of Michael teacher that takes
place to teach him and the appearance of his mother, Denise Oher in the middle of the movie. Some conflicts then can be seen is when Leigh Anne

The Blind Side: Do You Have Any Place to Stay?
Based on the 2006 book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis, the 2009 film The Blind Side is the true story of Michael Oher. Oher
is an under privileged African American teenager living on the streets of Memphis who is taken in and adopted by Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, an
affluent white couple. As much as the Tuohy family changed Michael's life he may have changed theirs even more. With no real special effects to

However it seems that Hancock has put the main focus on the relationship between Michael and Leigh Anne throughout the movie just as in the
scene Do You Have Any Place to Stay? Hancock says "It really is two different stories, one of which is more of a question: Who is Michael Oher and
why did the stars align to shine so brightly on this kid from the projects in Memphis? And then on the other side, it's a great story about how this unique
family evolved, and the unconventional mother son relationship at its center. (The Blind Side Full Production Notes www.madeinatlantis.com )
Hancock must ensure that every element is in place to scenes captured on film are as he envisioned them. The production designer has a long list of
duties that begin early in production. The production designer first must collaborate with the director and cinematographer to establish the visual feel

hair and make–up stylists, the special effects director and the locations manager. In The Blind Side in designing the sets, Production Designer Michael

Big Mike's Mom explains how the state took Big Mike from her since she is financially unable to provide for him. His mother is very emotionally
upset that she wasn't able to support and care for him in the way a mother should. Once Leigh Anne and her husband noticed Big Mike living the
way he was they decided to adopt Big Mike as their own son. Big Mike expresses an interest in football, Leigh Anne goes all out to help him,
including giving the coach a few ideas on how best to use Michael's skills. Leigh Anne family provide him with a loving home, hire a tutor to help
him improve his grades therefore he would qualify for athletic scholarship, buys him a vehicle and helps him get his driver license. Big Mike was
pick for the Baltimore Ravens in the 2009 NFL draft.
I believe the main story of this movie is accurate and was developed from a real life story. The inaccurate part of this movie is not everyone that has
lived in poverty ends up with a luxury lifestyle and gets adopted by a wealth family.

Film Analysis of The Blind Side The Blind Side is a film released in 2009 that is based off of a true story about current football legend Michael Oher.
It follows the story of a white family consisting of Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy with their children SJ and Collins Tuohy, who take in a homeless
African–American teenage boy named Michael Oher. Michael grew up in the bad part of town in Memphis, Tennessee and was raised in foster care
since his mother was a drug addict and he had no idea who his father was. Because of his enormous size, he draws the attention of the football
coach at Wingate Christian School and despite his ridiculously low GPA, he is accepted. One day on the playground, a kid named SJ Tuohy comes
up to him and befriends Michael. Later, it is SJ's family who takes Michael in as one of their one and helps him to succeed and later adopts him into
their family. One of the first social–psychological principles that appeared in this movie that interested me the most was the concept of fundamental
attribution error, that is, "the tendency to focus on the role of personal causes and underestimate the impact of situations on other people's behavior"
(Kassin, Fein & Markus, 2014, p. 123). In this movie, The Blind Side, all except one of Michael's teachers believe that Michael is unteachable and a
lost cause when it comes to academics because they believe that he is very unintelligent and is not a hard

or source of the interpersonal communication. Mr. Cotton is the receiver of the message. Big Tony wanted the athletic couch to accept Steven and
Michael or Big Mike as they call him into the Christian school. Big Tony encoded the message in the scene when he stated that he promised his
mother in her deathbed that he will get his son Steven out of the public school and into a Christian School (Bullock, S. (Director). (2009)). As the
conversation when on Tony Hamilton expressed why he believe they need to accept the Michael and Steven. Big Tony in the film also stated that, "I
know what you're thinking, couch. But look here, I got money, all right? See, I'm a mechanic at Wilson's Auto, the other side of town. Well, look,
what if somebody drops out or moves? Could they get in then," by stating that Big tony expressed what he wanted to communicate (Bullock, S.
(Director). (2009)). Mr. Cotton was processing the information when he stated, "They"? You only mentioned one son," he was unaware of Big Mike
and his possible athletic abilities ((Bullock, S.

What Are The Key Concepts In The Blind Side

  • 1. What Are The Key Concepts In The Blind Side The Blind Side is based on a true story about a homeless boy named Michael Other (Big Mike) who has been living with different people until the Tuohys take him in. Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy eventually become his legal guardians and the story is about how his life improves while playing football at Wingate high school in Tennesee. It shows his struggles with grades, and how the family and Michael are affected by the other. Because of his giant size he goes on to get a football scholarship for the University of Mississippi. The story is about his journey. Characters Self Concept: There are a lot of scenes that deal with self concept in this movie, but there are a couple important ones. The first scene is when Mrs. Tuohy is with her friends...show more content... The scenarios depict great examples of nonverbal communication, disclosure, and realistic ways that people in that society and situation would react. It shows many different kinds of communication all very realistically, and it is easy to put yourself in the characters shoes. Concept Definitions пѓ Intercultural Communication: a form of communication that aims to share information across different cultures and social groups пѓ Self Concept: an idea of the self constructed from the beliefs one holds about oneself and the responses of others пѓ Perceptual Accentuation: leads you to see what you expect and want to see пѓ Listening: making an effort to hear something; be alert and ready to hear something. пѓ Verbal Communication: the sharing of information between individuals by using speech пѓ Non Verbal Communication: includes gestures, facial expressions, and body positions (known collectively as "body language"), as well as unspoken understandings and presuppositions, and cultural and environmental conditions that may affect any encounter between Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Blind Side Essay John Lee Hancock's film, The Blind Side, is an absolutely must see. The Blind Side, is a semi biographical movie that is based on the life of a football player named Michael Oher. The film was produced in 2009 by the Warner Bros. Production Company. The movie exemplifies the works of talented actors and actresses, some of whom are familiar and others that are new to the acting world. The names of the Main characters are as follows: Sandra Bullock, who plays the role of Mrs.Tuohy, Tim McGraw, who portrays Mr.Tuohy, and new comer Quinton Aaron, who plays the lead asMichael Oher. Even though, the film seems to be over exaggerated clichГ©, it excels tremendously in acting, setting, and encouraging and inspirational relationships. For these...show more content... The next day Leigh Anne Tuohy wakes up and realizes that Michael is nowhere to be found and also did not take any of their belongings with him. She runs out of the house and catches him walking out of the driveway. At that moment she demands Michael to come back and asks him would he like to stay for Thanksgiving dinner. Michael continues to stay with the family and even pulls his grades up enough to play football for the school. After giving Michael the unconditional love of a family, the Tuohys ask Michael would he like for them to become his legal guardians. Will Michael find a home with the Tuohys or will he return back to the secluded and neglectful life that he once lived? The first positive characteristic of the film is the Acting and the Characters. The actors/actresses in the film did an astounding job portraying the characters of the story. They went unfathomable into the roles of the characters and add emotion and appeal to them. Sandra Bullock, with Quinton Aaron makes it convincing that she is Mrs.Tuohy and that he is Michael Oher. Even though those two were the ones provide emotional appeal, the other cast masts all add something independently. The father, Mr. Tuohy, exhibited the role of a positive male figure, who is supportive of everything that his family is involved in. Collins signifies the role of the average American adolescent. • 3. Sociology The Blind Side In the context of this extraordinary real life story a boy, depending on which society you come from he came from "The other side of the tracks" or "The wrong side of the tracks". The story is about a young black kid who is shuffled between the welfare system, Foster homes that he runs away from and the mother (a drug addict) that has let him down. Big Tony takes him along I think as leverage to get his own son in to a Catholic school because they can both play sports. The coach seems more interested in "Big Mike" more because of his size and agility. The teachers are very concerned about the lack of education he has had, but they pull together to bring his grades up. The Tuohy family is well off and ...show more content... Birth alone does not Determine his entire life. Social Stratification works here in that as a trait of society is not simply a reflection of Individual differences, privileged position, children born into wealthy families are more likely to enjoy better health, do well in school and have a successful career and also live along life. With Michael and his circumstances and the welcoming of him in the family this enhanced his chances for his entire life, also the social mobility was his change within the social hierarchy. Others in this story are more critical than the school, peers, teachers, coaches and some of Leigh Anne Tuohy's friends. The racial card rears its ugly head at a football game where racial Slurs are yelled out like "Fat ass boy" "Kickin that blue gums ass", "Boy", "Big black bear" and by her friends he is ranked from their social standards as "A large black boy" and for his size he will "eat them out of business" ( They own like a million Taco Bells, according to S.J). Michael is just an even tempered 17 year old that just wants a family and an identity as an individual. We are a "melting pot" of differences that should work together to create a better future for us all not just for the privileged. The N.A.A.C.P. was a shocking moment they tried pulling the racial Card because of his color and size saying the family had done this to better benefit them as well as the College they Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. In the movie, The Blind Side, Michael Oher's character experiences many changes. Throughout the film, he grows from a shy, uneducated boy into a young man who belongs to a family. The film begins with Oher as a homeless youth struggling to find a place to sleep. It progresses with Oher's fortunate meeting of the Tuohy family and concludes with Oher's ultimate transformation from a homeless boy into a successful man. A 17–year–old atypical teenager, Michael Oher has been living with many foster parents throughout Memphis, Tennessee. He was basically an orphan because his father dies when he was young and his mom is never around due to crack addiction. Every time he finds a new home, he runs away. He sleeps whenever and wherever he...show more content... He has his own driver's license, which indicates a big change in his teenage life having the ability to drive. Mr. and Mrs. Tuohy have signed the official documents that state them as Michael's legal guardian. He then gets his own room, bed, and home, which he never had in his life before. He even got a new car, which made him feel not only happy, but also part of a something he never had: a family. As he receives all these gifts, he becomes more comfortable with his friends and surroundings at home and at school as well. He tested in the 98 percentile under "protective instincts". This can be seen not only on test papers, but also in near–death situations such as stopping the airbag from killing SJ and protecting Mrs. Tuohy from the gangsters in his hometown. Every other subject his teachers have tested him in, he has failed miserably. Therefore, Mrs. Tuohy hired a tutor, Miss Sue, to help Michael get better grades and learn more efficiently in school. Other than schoolwork, Oher has grown into a great football player as well; he has learned to play his position at left tackle, protecting the quarterback's blind side. With his family and his passion for football, Michael has become more of a man. He finally speaks for himself as he did with the inspector lady and speaks for his family as he did when he beat up the gangsters that were insulting his "mother". He is now more confident than before shown by Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. The Blind Side : Rhetorical Analysis Of A Film "The Blind Side" Rhetorical Analysis of a film Taking the bad in with the good, although you may be the perfect classification in order to be targeted in todays society. How you're classified is based on things such as a persons race, intellect, social class, and appearance. A 2009 film, The Blind Side, written and directed by John Lee Hancock stars, Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw, is based on a true story. This movie tells a story that truly depicts simple acts of kindness that has the capability to change a persons life. This movie based off of a southern family living in Memphis, Tennessee will show you a true taste of southern hospitality. In every film you have your list of characters along with their personalities and most importantly their motives. Along with the certain qualities of every character comes the ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos which stands for the goodness of a film and/or ethics goes hand in hand with the sender of a film, Pathos which is the passion and emotions of a film which goes hand in hand with the receiver, and lastly the logos which is the logic/information that sends a message. Each rhetoric sends a message and surely puts a movie together. Leanne Tuohy, plays a huge role in the ethos factor. Her ethics as a person that the director created for her character shows compassion, kindness, and selflessness. Mrs. Tuohy takes in an African–American poverty stricken male, Michael Oher, on a rainy evening. Her senses told her that he did not have a place to go so kindly enough she offers him her home resorting on him sleeping on a spare couch. Pulling up to the Tuohy's residence Michael was in awe at the size of their home or shall I say mansion, little did he know that he would eventually become a part of this family shortly. Leanne shows character by her gentleness with Michael, knowing he came from a rough part of town and was not as fortunate. She not only gives to Michael as if he was her own, but she also cares for him as if he was her own. At a brunch with fellow friends a comment was made by one of her friends, "Honey, you're changing that boys life" as Leanne replies she says, "No he's changing mine." The overall ethos of this movie shows that you should never judge a book Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Blind Side Movie Analysis Essay Fatlinda Osmani The Blind Side The Blind Side was a true movie about a homeless boy that had a rough life until the Tuohy family took him in. Not only are their races different but their social class is different. Michael was raised in the hood, while the Tuohy family was raised in a nice neighborhood. Examples of these in the movie were when in the beginning Michael's friend's father drives them through an affluent neighborhood to high school. He looks around like he has never seen anything like it before. When he does get to school, he is not welcomed nicely from his white classmates. Another example was when his adoptive mother goes to look for him when he runs away. She goes to check in Hurt Village, which was where his biological mother used to live. Her encounter with Alton, which was an African American, was a big cultural difference. She tells him not to step on the other side of town, which shows how separated they are. Listening was a big thing in this film. There were plenty of scenes about listening. The one that stands out the most was when Michaels adoptive mom sits down Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The Blind Side Essay The Blind Side – Fact vs. Fiction "Life's a maze, you twist and you turn through it,The driest of droughts, maneuvered and I earned through it" (Clipse). During the Blind Side, Michael Oher comes up from living on the `street to becoming an NFL football players. Throughout the film he is adopted by a new family who puts him down the right path in life. Although the movie "The Blind Side" is similar to Michael Oher's life, there are also many things that the movie changed about Michael's journey to add excitement to the movie. During the Blind Side there are many similarities that the movie got correct about Michael Oher's life. Another difference was that Michael was not let into the High School right away, but in the movie he does get let in. Michael Lewis also states in his article, "When researching The Blind Side facts vs fiction, it was revealed that due to Michael Oher's poor and nearly non–existent academic record as of 2002, the principal at Briarcrest insisted that he participate in a home school program for a few months first to get his grades up". This shows that Michael had to do home schooling before being let into Briarcrest High School. All in all The Blind Side makes a lot of changes to add more excitement and drama to the film. John Lee Hancock's choices in changing aspects of Michael Oher's life added excitement and drama to the movie. For example, Hancock changes that Michael does not know how to play football. This adds drama to the movie because his adoptive family now has to teach him how to play his position in football. Hancock also adds excitement when Michael gets into the High School right away, when in reality he did not. This adds excitement by getting the audience excited to see what Michael will do at his new High school. These changes allow John Lee Hancock to add excitement and drama to the movie. • 16. The movie The Blind Side was released in 2009. It is about a young man, named Michael Oher, who grew up in a poor environment. In the beginning of the movie, Michael was homeless and not currently attending school. All of that changed when a woman, named Leigh Anne Tuohy, offered Michael the chance to stay with her and her family. The Tuohy family was well off, unlike Michael, so it was an adjustment for both the family and him to live together. However, the family was very warm and welcoming to Michael, which differed from many of the other people Michael encountered. In the movie, Michael experienced racism, discrimination, and prejudice towards him from a variety of people. Michael lived in a bad area when he was a young boy. This...show more content... Michael was laying on the ground because he was tackled but after the referee blew the whistle, a member from the other team kicked Michael in the head. Michael did nothing to react in a threatening way, he just continued laying on the ground. His couch asked the referee why the other team did not get a penalty for kicking Michael. The referee then waved his yellow rag and called "un–sportsman like conduct" for Michael team, despite the fact that they did not do anything wrong. Another example of discrimination towards Michael on the field was when he was blocking a player on the other team. Michael did not execute any foul plays, yet the referee's called out his team. The coach asked the referee what they did wrong and they responded by saying, "I don't know... excessive blocking." The referee's obviously did not have a significant reason for blowing their whistles and they likely would not have mentioned it if Michael was white. Similarly to real life, people are prejudice and racist towards people behind their backs too. The movie displays a good example of this. As I previously mentioned, the Tuohy family had a large amount of money, they even owned multiple chains of Taco Bell. Due to their money, Leigh Anne was friends with women who were wealthy as well. One day, Leigh Anne and her friends were eating at an expensive restaurant and while they were waiting on their food, they began a conversation about Michael. Film Analysis Of ' The Blind Side ' BBLearn User ID: Bmorin 17 October 2014 PSYCH 280 Section XW Film Analysis of The Blind Side The Blind Side is a film released in 2009 that is based off of a true story about current football legend Michael Oher. It follows the story of a white family consisting of Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy with their children SJ and Collins Tuohy, who take in a homeless African–American teenage boy named Michael Oher. Michael grew up in the bad part of town in Memphis, Tennessee and was raised in foster care since his mother was a drug addict and he had no idea who his father was. Because of his enormous size, he draws the attention of the football coach at Wingate Christian School and despite his ridiculously low GPA, he is accepted. One day on the playground, a kid named SJ Tuohy comes up to him and befriends Michael. Later, it is SJ's family who takes Michael in as one of their one and helps him to succeed and later adopts him into their family. One of the first social–psychological principles that appeared in this movie that interested me the most was the concept of fundamental attribution error, that is, "the tendency to focus on the role of personal causes and underestimate the impact of situations on other people's behavior" (Kassin, Fein & Markus, 2014, p. 123). In this movie, The Blind Side, all except one of Michael's teachers believe that Michael is unteachable and a lost cause when it comes to academics because they believe that he is very unintelligent and is not a hard Get more content on HelpWriting.net

His biology and history teachers studies with him and would give him oral tests. His teachers found oral tests helped him understand the class material better (The Blind Side). Oher began to believe in himself when he noticed that others were believe in him. With the support from SJ, Leigh Anne, his teachers, and his tutor, he is more accepted into the family and society. Oher is slowly starting to gain confidence in himself. It would be the adoption that would completely change Oher. "Well, Leigh Anne and I, we're..., well we'd like to become your legal guardians.
