Applicants must meet the
following requirements:
»» Be 18 years of age or over
»» Have recent and suitable experience
or have completed studies
(in Australia) to a Diploma level or
higher within the past 12 months.
»» Meet health and character
requirements and maintain
health cover
»» Have appropriate English language
skills to undertake the training
»» Hold a minimum of Diploma
or higher level qualification
(where the application is based
on study experience)
»» Have proof of academic
requirements for the program
»» Have strong knowledge
of your industry
»» Be flexible and willing to
work in a variety of areas
»» Be flexibile and willing to work
in rural and remote locations
Organisations that are diverse,
committed to quality training and have
staff with training experience are ideal.
Organisations should be capable of
providing adequate supervision and must
also provide a safe working environment.
As a host organisation it is
your responsibility to:
»» Treat the applicants as though
they are one of your employees by
providing a safe working environment
and ensure safe work practices
are adhered to in the workplace
»» Define the jobs, tasks and roles
that the applicant will undertake
as part of their program
»» Ensure the supervising staff have the
right skills to manage the applicant
»» Communicate well and develop
a rapport with the applicant
»» Provide the applicant with an
opportunity to try new things
and develop their skills
»» Allow time for the applicant
to practise new skills
»» Motivate, watch, coach,
praise and ask questions
»» Communicate with Staffing Solutions
Australia promptly should any
issues arise with the applicant
Applicants work on a full-time basis and
must work a minimum of 30 hours per
week. On average applicants are paid an
hourly rate from $20, though it does vary
depending on the organisation, industry
and hours worked.

Applicants will be eligible for the
program if:
»» They completed studies at a
Diploma level or higher
»» They can apply for at least 12
months within the program, and
»» Their student visa does not
have an 8503 condition on it
We will be the principal training
provider for the applicant. We will
design a structured workplace training
program in consultation with you as,
the employer, as well as your applicant.

RTOs and supervised work activities)

»» Monitoring and assessment
of the candidate’s learning
Yes, host employers can, if the reasons
warrant the employment to be
terminated and must be fair and
reasonable.
»» Staffing Solutions Australia is
committed to ensuring that the
program is a fruitful and rewarding
experience for host employers and
applicants. We endeavour to provide
many different forms of support
to our partners and candidates.
»» Staffing Solutions Australia has a
dedicated Program Coordinator who
will be the main point of contact
for all information on training,
assessment, and administration
matters. It will be the responsibility
of the Program Coordinator to find
the most appropriate match between
candidates and host employers,
taking into account factors such as
the type of work expected of the
candidate in the host employer’s
workplace, the level of work-related
skills the candidate already has, what
they need to learn and demonstrate
through the placement, and the work
environment and culture of the host
employer’s workplace.
»» It is the responsibility of the Program
Coordinator to provide support to all
parties, monitor the progress of the
candidate and to help to resolve any
disputes or problems that may occur.
»» Staffing Solutions Australia will
provide administrative support
to the host employer according
to mutually agreed terms.
»» It is the responsibility of Staffing
Solutions Australia to ensure
that the Applicant Agreement
has been correctly completed to
activate the training program.
The structured workplace based training
program will be developed in conjunction
with Staffing Solutions Australia, you and
the chosen candidate. It will include:
»» Training program objectives
»» Overview of work activities
(training modules)
»» Detailed and specific training tasks
»» Training duration and
timeframes for training tasks
»» Skills audit to assess the
candidate’s existing skills and
identify his/her training needs
All you have to do is register your interest
with Staffing Solutions Australia. Once an
application is received outlining your
requirements (including qualifications,
relevant skills and employment
experience), Staffing Solutions Australia
will work with our global pool of Skilled
Agencies and will select and introduce
potential candidates who match your
requirements.
Once the suitable candidate has been
identified, your organisation will be
required to make an employment offer
to the candidate that would include:
»» A description of the main tasks and
responsibilities of the position
»» Details of the position,
such as job title, occupation
and address of workplace
»» Proposed period of training
»» Annual salary and frequency
of payment (weekly,
fortnightly and monthly)
As a host employer, the fee is
$1,000+GST. Staffing Solutions Australia
bears all costs involved in the sourcing,
sponsoring and training of candidates.
The only other obligation you have
is to pay wages in accordance with
Australia’s Industrial Relation laws.
The subclass 402 visa - occupational
trainee stream may be valid for up to
two years to undertake an approved
training program (subject to the length
of the approved training program). An
additional two months may be added
beyond the training end date to allow
the occupational trainee and their family
members to make arrangements to leave
Australia, or to apply for another visa.
If the training cannot be completed
in the approved visa period, a second
subclass within 402 visa - occupational
trainee stream may be applied for.
