3. SCORING
• 1 point for each correct answer.
• Zero for incorrect.
• No points subtracted for incorrect or blank answers.
• Total score range 400-1600
• College consider the best scores
• Having all of your attempts sent will not have a negative impact.
• If you want, can use “Score Choice” to send only your best score.

4. EVIDENCE-BASED READING & WRITING

5. READING TEST
• Passages range from 500 to 750 words
• One classic or contemporary passage from US or World literature
• A pair of passages or a single passage from US founding documents or a text in Great
Global Conversation
• A passage on a Social Science topic- e.g. sociology, psychology, economics.
• One passage and a passage pair OR two passages from science, especially texts on
recent developments in biology, chemistry, physics or Earth science.
• You are required to answer the multiple choice questions based on these passages.

6. WRITING AND LANGUAGE TEST OVERVIEW
• Asks you to be an editor.
• Improve passages with deliberate errors.
• Read, find mistakes and weaknesses and fix them.
• You will read informative/explanatory texts, nonfiction narratives or arguments.
• Multiple choice questions.
• Prior knowledge is not tested.

7. MATH
• 20 questions with no-calculators.25 minutes.
• 38 questions with calculators.55 minutes.
• Bring your own calculator.
• Approved calculators: sat.org/calculators
• 45 standard multiple choice.
• 13 student produced response questions.
• You come up with the answer instead of selecting from multiple choices.
