Onsite meetings and accessibility during the year are hallmarks of our approach. We
offer education to your plan participants, so they can make informed, long-term
investment decisions and build wealth through your retirement plan.
We review the universe of over 200 fund families currently traded by BPAS to select
plan investments. This flexibility allows us to select the strongest possible mix, using
low cost funds and institutional share classes.
This program delivers comprehensive administration instead of recordkeeping. This
includes eligibility monitoring and determination; real-time vesting updates; a
streamlined process for loans, hardships & distributions; strength in compliance &
technical matters; and a simplified year-end process for Human Resources.
Technology is deployed through a bilingual voice response unit and participant
website that provide personalized rate of return, real time vesting updates, client Call
Center and numerous other services. Plan sponsors also have access to an online
library of planning tools as well as ongoing census and payroll data to resolve
administrative needs.
Haverford Trust has created an innovative retirement plan offering in partnership with BPAS – a provider of administrative
services to some 1,900 defined contribution plans and 170,000 participants nationwide. This program combines our
expertise as investment manager, relationship manager and the client’s local point of contact with an open architecture
platform of investments, fee transparency and state-of-the-art services and technology. We at Haverford use the same
program and investment menu for our own retirement plan.
Haverford Trust may serve as Discretionary Trustee within the program – selecting
and monitoring funds, creating an Investment Policy Statement, providing ERISA
404(c) assistance, and maintaining the integrity of the investment menu over time.
Our asset allocation models and proprietary research process take the mystery out of
investing. Participants can select a model portfolio and have their account
professionally managed over time according to this strategy. Or they can select a
custom mix of individual funds. Our flexibility caters to the needs of all types of
investors.
Each plan is serviced by a dedicated BPAS Plan Consultant. This individual will be
the plan sponsor’s main point of contact for day-to-day issues, compliance testing,
allocation of employer contributions, preparation of Form 5500 and answering plan
design or plan document related questions.
Thanks to careful design, our retirement program only involves two firms: The
Haverford Trust Company and BPAS. This efficient business model allows us to
keep overall costs low, with no redundancy of effort and a clear delineation of
responsibilities.
