of Rail service it is alternative to the bus service .The train having tires,
Power is fed to the mono rail through the rails installed at the centre of
the Beam on both sides keeping air space free .For diverting train from
one beam to another beam separate type of beam switches are installed.
Work Assigned:
To keep close watch on maintenance schedules to reduce the failures.
Performance monitoring of services under commercial operation.
Customer care/passenger Convenience items and train service operations.

Witnessing the tests coordination with the Contractor SCOMI.
2012 – March 2014 as a section in charge looking after AC – DC Siemens
rakes Pantograph maintenance of M/s Stone India Ltd. and M/s Schunk
Metal & Carbon (India) Ltd. Make pantographs.
Work Assigned: In Central Railway OHE conversion works were going on
from DC to AC without any interruption of services. While these works were
going on lot of PANTOGRAPHS ENTANGLEMENTS took place. Without
any inputs of new pantographs all damaged pantographs got repaired and
maintained the services. Pantograph pans are fitted with copper strips as
wearing material. These strips were wearing fast during monsoon due to
lubricant getting washed out while raining. Taken care to get the lubricant
applied by arranging the trains in shed during day and night.
2009 to 2011 as a section in charge looking after AC – DC Siemens rakes
with air suspension bogies maintenance.
Work Assigned: Central railway received 60 rakes of 12 car coaches from
ICF CHENNAI with Siemens IGBT technology and the bogies of AIR
SUSPENSION. The Rakes Commissioned and offered for trials by RDSO.
Lot of modifications done on stainless steel pressure pipes to avoid failures
on account of loss of air pressure during service of these trains. These
coaches were side bearer loaded on bolster. These side bearers have given
lot of failures due poor strengthening of its walls, all these failures were
arrested and advised to designer.
2005to 2008 as a section in charge looking after Elec. & Mechanical works
in DC EMUs.
Work Assigned: Section in-charge of inspection shop in which weekly,
fortnightly inspections were carried out. Surprise checks were carried out to
get the quality work from my staff and supervisors during schedule
inspections. I was always maintaining the rakes more reliable and
availability for service. I personally taking care of wheels maintenance to
not to cause any derailments because of wheels defects.
1998 to 2004 as a senior supervisor looking after Drawbar maintenance
and Ultra Sonic testing of axles.
Work Assigned: In Central railway there was a case of axle breakage at
outside of wheel disc. Since that incidence EMU rake is offered once in
every 6months for Ultrasonic testing of axles. After testing axle boxes
old grease sent for laboratory to find out any material contents of bearing in
grease. EMU coaches were coupled by ESCORTS semi-permanent couplers
3. to get the formation of 12car formation. These couplers maintenance was
taken care to not to give any failures like breakage, uncoupling during
service.
1987 to 1997 as a senior supervisor looking after wheel mounted disc
brakes maintenance.
Work Assigned: CENTRAL RAILWAY introduced 5 EMU trains fitted with
Disc Brakes FIRST PROJECT IN INDIAN RAILWAYS supplied by M/S
Brakes India Ltd. Chennai. These trains Trials and commissioning
successfully done and maintained to make them reliable in service.
March 1980 to 1987 as a senior supervisor to look after schedule
maintenance of EMU rakes on Mumbai Division Central Railway.
Work Assigned: Central Railway Mumbai division suburban services are
Life Line of Mumbai. Availability and Reliability of these services is most
important factor in Mumbai suburban section. Close monitoring of
maintenance activities Electrical and Mechanical side including wheels and
braking system made the trains available and reliable in service.
Training Undergone –
1. One month programme in Brakes India Ltd. Chennai on wheel
mounted Disc brakes.
2. 5 days training programme in Germany and Switzerland.
Awards –
1. 1996 won the GM’s award.
2. 2007 won the DRM’s award.
