PROJECT DETAILS:
MERVA – Message Entry and Routing for Various Applications
Description: MERVA is a SWIFT service provider, a messaging based software application from IBM for routing BNY Mellon international messages. It is designed to help financial institutions in the preparation and processing of financial messages (SWIFT formats only).
Role & Responsibility: Senior Application Developer
Detailed analysis of the change request or project requests received from the users or back end applications, development and implementation of the changes.
Preparation of detailed design documents and Test scripts as per SDLC and maintain version discipline
Participate in meetings organized by Project Management team and provide updates.
Perform unit and regression testing for new changes.
Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Obtain approvals from all the concerned people, prior to implementation
Turn-over process using Package, transmittal and remedy.
Major projects:
1. SWIFT Annual release:
Duration: Annual (since January 2012).
Description: SWIFT, Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, a member-owned cooperative through which the financial institution conducts its business operations and exchange millions of standardized financial messages. Swift comes out with annual changes which are described by the Standards Release Guide of SWIFT and Message Format Validation Rules every year.
Role & Responsibility: Application/Senior Application Developer
Analysis of the changes in various SWIFT message types and preparing the Project Planning Document, System Requirement Specification, Test Plan/Cases document.
Perform impact analysis to find the list of back-end applications and their corresponding branches affected as a result of SWIFT changes.
Making necessary routing changes as applicable (updating macros, assemblers, print modules etc.).
Applying the IBM MERVA PTF’s in all non-production environments for Testing.
Carrying out various test like Forward compatibility, backward compatibility and extensive Volume Testing in MERVA CICS Environments to test the new changes introduced by SWIFT for all message types.
Preparation of analysis report based on the results of volume testing carried out for various branches in test environments.
Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support user queries while testing the newly introduced changes and ensure proper solution is provided to the users. Analyze the issues raised by the users and resolve them at the earliest while testing, log the defects and their corresponding solutions for future use, apply the fix and inform users

2. Production Data Masking:
Duration: October 2012 – December 2012.
Description: As per Information Security Administration Standards, there was requirement to develop a new utility to scramble the confidential data (Client account number, Credit/Debit amount etc.), in a production SWIFT message before using them for testing in any non- production environment . This was done as part of audit purpose and hence mainframe files containing production SWIFT messages had to run through this tool using JCL for scrambling.
Role & Responsibility: Application Developer
Analysis and preparation a list of tags for all message types, that contains confidential information such as account number, amount etc. using the SWIFT user handbook and preparation of Functional Requirements Document as per the requirement.
Involve in design and development of the tool using COBOL and mainframe procedure (PROC) to execute the program for scrambling the production data before using them in development regions for testing.
Preparation of detailed test scripts covering positive and negative test cases and the preparation of test plan to execute.
Execution of the test scripts.

Duration: December 2014 – April 2015
Description: The purpose of this project is to implement STP integration between Franklin Templeton and BNY Mellon Brazil through SWIFT.
Role & Responsibility: Senior Application Developer
Analysis and preparation of Functional Requirement Document based on the Project request.
Participate in meetings organized by the Project Manager and provide updates regarding each phase of the project.
Creation of new MQ interface with the backend application to send/receive SWIFT messages.
