processing the personal loan applications for the customers. Initially the application was developed by
using classical ASP, but due to high cost and other issue in maintaining the application, it was decided to
be migrated to JSF 2.0 based platform. The main business logic resides in the AS/400 systems with which
the application interact through IBM request broker. The team was new in using the JSF technology, which
was the initial challenge and having very little support for existing AS/400 system

This provides customers with an opportunity to assess the value of an application in a “try-before-you-buy”
scheme, and is an excellent software marketing tool. Modalities and other product development entities
within GEMS provide applications which can be enabled via an alphanumeric license key. The information
from the modality required by the eFlexTrial system in order to support trials of an application is referred to
as a “package.” The eFlexTrial program will provide an automated mechanism by which modalities can
submit packages that enable product software to be trailed via eFlexTrial. And also along with eFlex there
is another application running, the application is eLicense which is highly have dependency with
eFlex.eLicense is a web based system where valid software option keys can be generated and stored.
This will give Field Engineer/On-Line Engineer/Manufacturing the ability to generate a permanent software
license from an FDO and associate it with a specific piece of hardware/application. A user will also have
the ability to look up all valid keys for a given system in the event of a load-from-cold situation, where all
software must be reloaded.
