3.  The Government of Tamil Nadu has launched Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance
Scheme to enhance the enrolment ratio of girls from Government schools to Higher Education Institutions.
 Through this scheme, the financial assistance of Rs. 1000/month will be provided to the girls till their
completion of UG degree/Diploma/ITI/any other recognized course.
 An online portal shall be developed to enrol the students with the details of their education.
 The portal will validate the credentials through an API. Based on the validation, the payment will get disbursed
through the DBT mode.
Pudhumai Penn Scheme – Phase II

4. Phase II is developed based on the following assumptions
The Nodal Officer of the college/institute
 is responsible for the Scholarship Enrolment
 shall use the login credentials shared already, for the submission of Scholarship form.
 will do the registration in the presence of the Girl Student.
Based on the learnings/experiences, it was decided that the enrolment for the scholarship should be done under
the supervision of the officers of the institution in which the girls students pursing their higher education.
Prerequisites for submission of form
1. Aadhar Card linked with the any of the 4 Banks Viz: Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, State Bank of India and
Canara Bank
2. EMIS Number
3. Details of the Schools studied from 6th Std to till the School Completion
4. A unique mobile number

7.  The representative of the institution has to click on the Institutes/College under login section to access the portal

provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu to login for the first time in the Pudhumai Penn Scheme portal

10. Upon successful login, follow the steps given below in the Institute Enrollment Screen :
1. Change/Reset Password – You have to change/reset the password
2. Please register your Email ID and Mobile Number for future communication

13. Checklist for Scholarship Registration
Check whether the student has the following details:
1. EMIS Number
 A student needs to have EMIS number for the scholarship registration
 If the student is unaware of the EMIS, Know Your EMIS in the portal can be accessed to test the EMIS number
 Even if the EMIS number is not there, but the girl is eligible for the scholarship, she can do so by using
“RegistrationWithout EMIS”
2. Aadhar linkage to the bank account is necessary pre-requisite for the scholarship and the student should have a
bank account in any one of the following banks
a) State Bank of India
b) Indian Overseas Bank
c) Indian Bank
d) Canara Bank
Incase the student does not have bank account in the aforesaid bank, then kindly open an account in any one of
the above 4 banks and link the Aadhar with the bank account.
3. The students mobile number linked with the Aadhar number to receive the OTP for verification

15.  The Institution/College representative have to login using the username & new password for the scholarship registration.

17.  You will land in this page where you can view the list of your students registered using this portal
 For new scholarship registration, click on the Scholarship Registration button on the top right corner

18.  Enter the EMIS number as available with the student, and follow step 4.6
 Alternatively, use Know Your EMIS button to know the EMIS number, follow step 4.5
 To view the student registered already, click Back to List button

19.  To know the EMIS number, furnish the required information in the above screen and click Search

20.  Enter the known/fetched EMIS number in the field and click the Fetch the student details button.

21.  Upon submission of EMIS, the student details get displayed as in the above screen
 If there is any discrepancies in the information, the student can modify the same with the help of college representative
and submit the same.

22.  You will be prompted with confirmation message to proceed further

23.  After successful confirmation of student details, the student need to provide the Aadhar Number for validation.

24.  Enter Aadhar number of the student
 Then click eKYC Validation button for validating the Aadhar details

25.  The student will get an alert message if the entered Aadhaar number is not same as provided in the EMIS. Click OK to
continue the eKYC Validation with the entered Aadhaar number

26.  Enter the OTP sent to the mobile number registered with Aadhar Number and submit

27.  Once Aadhar number gets verified, you will get a message -- “Aadhar verified”
 Click OK to proceed further

28.  The Aadhar details of the student will get displayed for confirmation

29.  Aadhaar Number will get populated automatically in bank details section for bank validation

30.  On Clicking Bank Validation button, if the Aadhar number is linked with any of the specified banks, the required details
will get fetched automatically.
 Click OK to proceed further with step 4.17.1

31.  On Clicking Bank Validation button, if the Aadhar number is not linked with any of the specified banks, follow the alert
message, provided EMIS Aadhaar and eKYC validated Aadhaar are same

32.  On Clicking Bank Validation button, if EMIS Aadhaar and eKYC validated Aadhaar are not same and the eKYC validated
Aadhar number is not linked with any of the specified banks, the student cannot continue with the registration
 The representative of the college/institute can click the Reset Application button to register the next student

33.  Reset Application is provided to clear and start fresh application anytime

34.  Enter the currently enrolled course details of the student for confirmation after successfully fetching the bank details

35.  Even if the Aadhaar Number is not linked with any of the specified banks, enter the currently enrolled course details of
the student for confirmation

36.  If the year of school completion of the student is not 2021 – 22, follow one more step of filling the school details

37.  Enter the school details of the student and confirm the same

38.  Upon successful completion of filling of details, the student will receive a 6-digit OTP to their registered mobile number

39.  Confirm and check the acknowledgment box
 Click the ‘Submit Application’
 The Scholarship Application will get submitted successfully
