3. • Cancer : Uncontrolled division of cells
• These cells invade and damage
surrounding tissue
• Oral cancer appears as sore or growth in
mouth and it does not go away
• Oral cancer includes: cancer of lips,
tongue, cheeks ,floor of moth, hard and
soft palate,
• sinuses pharynx, throat.
• It can be life threatening too

8. • Diagnosis
• Oral cancer screening examination can be conducted
• In this examination any lumps or irregular tissue changes
in the neck , head, face and oral cavity is checked
• If required biopsy is recommended
• Remedy
• Surgery: to remove cancerous growth
• Radiation therapy
• Chemotherapy (drug treatments) to destroy cancerous
cells
• Prevention
• It well balanced diet
• Do not chew or smoke tobacco and its products
• Limit exposure to sun
