Business Plan Assessment: Strategic Improvement
Strategic Planning & Implementation

Strategic Improvement
The purpose of the strategic plan in week two assignments was to show how Mexican Chipotle plans to work towards its damaged reputation and earn consumer trust and confidence. As highlighted in the assignment, Chipotle has faced ethical blows in its operation, which led to its closure. However, after resuming its functionality, the company had lost its positive public image, affecting consumer trust and confidence. Therefore, developing a great and workable strategic plan is vital and paramount for Chipotle because it will restore its public image and improve its competitive advantage and attract more customers. Thus, Chipotle's strategic plan aims to attract customers, increase the company's competitive advantage, and increase the general productivity of the company.
The key objectives of Chipotle’s strategic plan are to maintain its existing customers and do the best it can to attract more customers. Such objectives can only be achieved if the company strategically plans and approaches market development aspects. For instance, after Niccol took over, he employed differentiation as a market development initiative in the company (Thompson, 2019). This is a strategy that targets a narrow market, hence improving the company’s overall competitive advantage. Chipotle intends to give its customers variations of products to choose from with a target for a narrow market. This will increase the competitive advantage within the company and strengthen its overall operations in the business market.
The strategic plan reveals that Chipotle is focused on improving its processes to ensure the safety of both the people and the environment. The company intends to strategically differentiate its products, with a focus on the production of food with only natural ingredients. Initially, Chipotle used to process products from both natural and synthetic materials. However, after the ethical blow where many customers suffered from food poisoning, the company has learned its lesson and resolved to focus on the safety and health of the consumers (Thompson, 2019). Niccol has ensured that Chipotle sources its rice, beans, and cilantro from organic suppliers. This implies that Chipotle is focusing on having the best food quality instead of saving money on ingredients. This will eventually turn the company into a healthy living entity, which will change the narrative regarding the reputation of the company into what consumers love.
Chipotle has a performance culture based on employee development and promotion of employees from within the company. Employees are given a path of ascension and opportunities to advance their employment levels and job positions. More so, the company provides the workers with a bal ...

Project 1
The Molokai Nut Company (MNC) makes four different
products from macadamia nuts grown in the Hawaiian Island:
chocolate-coated whole nuts (Whole), chocolate-coated nut
5. clusters (Cluster), chocolate-coated nut crunch bars (Crunch),
and plain roasted nuts (Roasted). The company is barely able to
keep up with the increasing demand for these products.
However, increasing raw materials prices and foreign
competition are forcing MNC to watch its margins to ensure it
is operating in the most efficient manner possible. To meet
marketing demands for the coming week, MNC needs to
produce at least 1000 pounds of the Whole product, between
400 and 500 pounds of the Cluster product, no more than 150
pounds of the Crunch product, and no more than 200 pounds of
the Roasted product. Each pound of the Whole, Cluster, Crunch,
and Roasted product contains, respectively, 60%, 40%, 20%,
and 100% macadamia nuts with the remaining weight made up
of chocolate coating. The company has 1100 pounds of nuts and
800 pounds of chocolate available for use in the next week. The
various products are made using four different machines that
hull the nuts, roast the nuts, coat the nuts in chocolate (if
needed), and package the products. The following table
summarizes the time required by each product on each machine.
Each machine has 60 hours of time available in the coming

Apple
Apple Inc. is one of the most well-known and successful
multinational companies in the history of the globe. The
company was founded in California in 1976. Throughout the
industry, the company develops a reputation for being the
market's leading innovator. Even throughout the most
challenging periods of the company's history, innovation has
8. remained at the heart of its operations (Heracleous &
Papachroni 2016). In addition to its unique business strategy
and methods, which have allowed it to surpass large companies
like Nokia and Samsung in the marketplace, Apple Inc. is a
corporate organization that merits more investigation.
The company Apple Inc. is the subject of this investigation. It is
of particular importance to comprehend Apple Inc.'s history,
present position in the market, and detailed descriptions of its
goods and services (including those provided by third parties).
Furthermore, the goal is to understand the company's
composition, which includes its team, news, mergers,
stakeholders, its structure, and the extent of its activities,
among other things.
Apple Inc. is worthy of this kind of investigation because of its
innovative business strategies, which have enabled it to earn
billions of dollars while maintaining its number one position in
the world. This makes Apple Inc. a highly essential business to
introduce to young and ambitious investors all around the globe
since its success story serves as an inspiration for many
emerging companies on their path to success.
Apples’ headquarters is in Cupertino, California. The
organization is a global corporation that designs, creates, and
promotes portable digital music players, personal computers,
mobile communication and media devices throughout the globe.
In 1977, Steve Jobs established Apple, which has its
headquarters in Cupertino, California. Since Steve Jobs founded
Apple Inc. in 1976, the company has earned a reputation for
technological innovation and quality (Aljafari, 2016) Apple's
new Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook, has done an excellent
job guiding the company to maintain its position as the
industry's dominant force.
With revenues and total assets in the billions of dollars, Apple
Inc. is the world's leading information technology business, as
well as the world's second-largest mobile phone manufacturer.
On top of mobile applications, third-party digital content and
accessories, networking solutions, and software services, the
9. corporation's portfolio comprises a variety of additional
products and services. According to Apple Inc.'s business
strategy, which is shown through its products, design and
innovation are important (Li, 2021). Within the organization,
there is a clear leadership style that corresponds to the
hierarchical organizational structure of the corporation.
However, there are many situations in which the organizational
structure of the company seems to be flat. Apple's
organizational cultures put a significant emphasis on
innovation, which acts as the organization's overall vision and
mission statement and the organization's overarching vision and
mission statement.
