3. HISTORY
Principle of genetics were developed in the mid 19th
century by Gregor Mendel an Austrian Monk.
Born in 1822 near brunn in Austria in a poor family.
Gregor Mendal is the father of modern genetics.
4. Most famous for his work with pea plants.
Gregor experimented with pea plants by crossing
various strains and observing the characteristics of their
offspring.
5. Gregor Mendal- Studied inheritance of seven traits
in pea plants and first used the term dominance and
recessiveness.
6. Law of Segregation
According to this law, in hybrid of F1 both contrasting
characters remain in pair. These characters are separated in
F2. So, this law is called law of segregation.
During the formation of gametes (eggs or sperm) the
two alleles responsible for a trait separate from each other.
Law of segregation the sparation of alleles into separate
gametes.
