A local, residential Woodland centre offering Forest School
sessions and Outdoor Adventurous Activities
Opened officially on May 6th 2014
Main emphasis is to raise aspirations through repeated
visits for local school children
Cabins can hold up to 32 students, with access for
disabled students. Separate staff accommodation
3. FOREST SCHOOLS
- Opportunities for learners to have
repeated access to Woodland and natural
environment
- Aimed at developing self-esteem and
confidence using a hands-on approach
- A long-term process aimed at a number
of repeat visits rather than a one-off
approach. Linking each session with skills
and knowledge
- Learn how to manage risks and perceive
danger. Students will learn assess
situations make better decisions
- Emphasis on review and reflection
‘Process’ rather than ‘product’ approach

5. Prices for 2014/2015
£89 per student for 2 nights SEP - NOV
£60 per student for 1 night
DEC - JAN as above minus 10%
£99 per student for 2 nights FEB - JUL
£67 per student for 1 night
Prices available for Weekend.
Prices may be reduced regarding Catering
arrangements and we do have funding available
for Disadvantaged students
Prices will increase if Specialist activities are
desired

7. WHY COME TO UCA?
• Programmes are bespoke and designed to
meet the needs and objectives of your students
• Can be tailored to have more or less input from
UCA teaching staff and to suit your budget
• Local to your school, therefore relieves
concerns from parents (and staff!)
• No need to travel for hours in a coach to
Wales, Yorkshire etc, therefore reducing travel
time and costs
• A small, sole-use site at UCA.
