2. Current Problems
• High viscosity (5x that of water)
• Not suitable for use in advanced
stripping techniques like hollow fiber
membrane contactors (HFMCs)

3. • Solvent for gas scrubbing
• Utilizes glycerol derivatives for the removal of CO2, H2S,
and other contaminants from natural gas streams, syngas
streams and other industrial gas streams
• Selectively absorbent : e.g. absorbs CO2 and not CH4
• Physical Absorbent - Can be recycled
• Utilizes hollow fiber membrane contactor
– Requires low viscosity sweep liquids

• Device that achieve gas/liquid or liquid/liquid mass transfer without
dispersion of one phase within the other.
• No flooding at high flow rates
• No unloading at low flow rates
• Absence of emulsions
• No density difference between fluids required
• High interfacial area.
• Compact Size
• Low Energy
• Lower CAPEX and OPEX

5. • Lower density – allowing for lower power
requirements and use in HFMCs
• HFMCs provide lower CAPEX and OPEX
saving potential customers money
• Performs better than current Selexol solvent
• Steeper regulations on gas emissions will make
demand high
