Dear Nurse Recruiter,
I am a very driven and compassionate individual, who is very interested in joining your organization. I
believe this is the prefect opportunity to grow my skills in a supportive environment. I am a newly
licensed RN, who has completed the requirements of a bachelors prepared nurse, and I am currently in a
master of nursing degree program. I believe the more we educate ourselves the better nurses we become. I
am entering the nursing field as a second career, with former experience in finance and management. I
feel this is a great attribute because I have a thorough understanding of what it takes to be a good
employee, along with being budget conscious.
Nursing holds a special place in my heart; I have the unique perspective of being a patient in an ICU burn
unit setting for an extended amount of time, so I understand many of the frustrations our patients feel, and
can empathize with them, since I have been in there place. I believe this gives me a special bond, an
unspoken understanding with the patients, and makes me a better advocate for their needs.
I have 210 hours of individual preceptor experience on the medical surgical floor, as well as additional
840 clinical hours in various departments including the emergency room, ICU, tele, medical surgical,
pediatrics and OB. I believe I am strong at multitasking; I have been able to maintain a high GPA
throughout the program, currently 3.84, while managing a business part time, and volunteering when the
opportunity arose.
I cannot wait to start this amazing journey of helping people on their path to physical, emotional, and
spiritual recovery. My goal is to provide safe, high quality, compassionate, ideal patient care to those in
our community that need it the most. I believe our values and vision for what healthcare should be are one
in the same. My life experiences and education will assist me in being compassionate and respectful of
each person’s dignity, whether that be a patient, family member, or colleague. I will strive to provide
nursing excellence, and patient satisfaction with each encounter.
