To Whom It May Concern:
I am very interested in applying for an entry-level registered nurse position or a post-baccalaureate nurse
residency program at a recognized hospital or healthcare organization and I hope you strongly consider my
application for your position/program. I feel that either a registered nurse position or a post-baccalaureate
nurse residency program would be an excellent career opportunity for me to pursue, and I would feel
privileged to begin my nursing career at an organization renowned for excellence and remarkable care.
As the enclosed resume indicates, I will graduate this upcoming May with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Nursing from Viterbo University. Following graduation, I hope to pursue a job as a registered nurse working
in a caring, nurturing, and patient-centered environment. The nursing program at Viterbo University has
helped prepare me for this role as the curriculum involves both rigorous classroom work and extensive
clinical experience in a wide variety of specialty areas. All of my clinical experiences involved many of the
skills and tasks, including communication, leadership, and the ability to organize and prioritize care, that are
outlined in your requirements for this program. My exceptional academic experiences, my employment as
a certified nursing assistant, and my current position as a medical receptionist-float at the UW Medical
Foundation have given me invaluable experience working with, caring for, and providing excellence to all of
my patients and their families. Furthermore, I have developed outstanding patient skills and analytical skills
that provide me with the ability to assess a patient’s condition and critically think about how to advocate,
educate, and prioritize what the most appropriate intervention is for that patient.
In addition to my academic and professional work experiences, my experience as a Resident Assistant,
campus leader, and community volunteer have helped me grow into an extremely reliable and enthusiastic
person who takes pride in helping others reach their highest potential by meeting their physical, mental,
emotional, social, and spiritual needs. My experiences have also taught me how to work effectively in a
team setting, how to take the valuable time to show empathy and kindness toward others, and how to
learn quickly and adapt to situations in a calm, composed, and professional manner. These experiences
have also helped me become a great listener and leader who takes pride in being organized, detail-
oriented, and open to all types of feedback that will help me transition and grow into an improved nurse,
individual, and member of the community. Above all, I am an extremely caring, empathetic, and upbeat
individual who is always looking to make a positive difference in the lives of others in order to help make
the world a better place to live.
I truly appreciate your time and your strong consideration of my application for this program. Please do
not hesitate to contact me at (608) 212-0153 for further information. I look forward to hearing from you
and discussing this opportunity at your institution. Thank you so much for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Brandon Stiefel
