Chinese Yo-Yo (抖空竹 dǒukōngzhú.) Also known as the Diabolo
It is from China, it can be made out of two bamboo disc or currently out of plastic. It is
made of two same size disc with a bar connecting the two. Some of the disc may have
grooves imprinted to create a whistling sound. The stick that comes with the toy is still
made out of wood. The stick has a string attached to it that keeps the yo-yo spinning.
There are no rules to this toy, because it is a toy where one person just keeps spinning
the yo-yo with the stick. It originated during the Ming dynasty between 1386-1644 AD.
Today children and performers either play with the toy or use the toy for dance. The toy
is primarily used by children or street performers during festivals.
