Currently, I am a Utilities Pipeline Surveyor, Project Co-ordinator and Water Industry Leakage Specialist
employed by Advanced Engineering Solutions Limited, who are Pipeline Specialists undertaking condition
assessments of Water, Oil and Gas pipelines. For many years I have been successful in in a technically focussed
role and through various company mergers, I have worked in the Water Industry for over 30 years, working for
Sunderland and Shields Water Company, North East Water, Northumbrian Water and a short period at Scottish
Water. Previously, I have also been successful in Sales and Marketing, setting up and managing my own
company, working as a Yorkshire Area Sales Director for a large International Property Company.
Specialist Experience
My extensive technical knowledge of Water Utility operations includes Leakage and DMA Management on large
diameter and distribution networks, byelaws, mains cleansing, trunk main operations, data and pressure logging,
and customer service. I was Leakage Co-ordinator for Northumbrian Water responsible for a team of Leakage
Technicians and outside Contractors. As Internal Auditor, I took Northumbrian Water through the 2002 ISO and
wrote procedures for the Leakage Department. With AES Limited, I have carried out topographical surveys on
distribution pipelines and reservoirs, identifying valves and assets as a basis for developing reservoir operational
plans and strategies. Also I have sourced leakage projects for Northumbrian Water and private Industrial Estates
and Hospitals. I am currently planning this years AMP period for condition assessment of trunk mains, and asset
protection for Northumbrian Water.
I successfully set up and managed my own business for a number of years generating a large volume of sales of
overseas Real Estate, and managed staff in various locations dealing directly with the general public.

Reason for Leaving: Head hunted by International Real Estate Company (after working very successfully on a part
time basis) to manage a large area to promote their properties in the UK. After 30 years in the Water Industry
felt it was time for a move and would be good to gain more direct sales and marketing experience.
