• Co-founder, Enterprise Technology Architect and software engineer for Paragon Technology Solutions,
Inc., a technology consulting, software development, and transaction processing service provider
specializing in the ATM, POS, VAT refunding, and credit/debit/prepaid/loyalty card industries. Served for
10 months as lead designer, developer, development manager, and Payments system relationship
manager for one of Paragon’s key international clients, Global Blue GmbH. Previously served as lead
designer and developer of several software and database platforms for other Paragon clients such as
Fiserv, Maverick Network Solutions, Inxent Corporation, Denarii Systems, and others. Also provide a
variety of technology consulting services to Paragon’s clients and their downstream customers.
2. • Recently completed an assignment with YapStone, Inc., a payments processor for Expedia/HomeAway.
Architected the overall design for a distributed payments-processing system to replace a highly-
verticalized suite of heterogeneous applications. Became lead developer on critical-path ESB-based
routing and payments authorization components.
• Served as an enterprise architect and lead developer for Global Blue, GmbH, a Sliver Lake Partners
company, the leader in VAT refunding services worldwide.
• Architected and was lead developer for custom software for ATM and POS transaction authorization,
prepaid and debit card management and authorization, settlement and ACH services, client billing,
interactive voice response applications, and several web portals for clients interfaced to First Data,
Columbus Data Services, Visa, MasterCard, and other EFT gateways and card schemes.
• Served as designer and lead developer on an enterprise middleware and database repository project for
Wachovia/Wells Fargo. Designed and developed mission-critical, high-volume middleware solution for
an IBM AIX-based messaging-driven system for the requesting, staging, delivery, and distribution of
17,000,000 check images daily. Developed Wells Fargo’s entire Subpoena Request Fulfillment System.
• Served as technology architect for a large third-party-processing venture, Quest Point, LLC, undertaken
by First Union Bank. Was responsible for design and development of numerous high-volume
transactional and delivery solutions. Also was responsible for design and delivery of PC workstation
products that were central to the success of the third-party check, image, credit card, and lockbox
processing products.
• Intimate knowledge of and first-hand experience with EFT-related message and file formats including
ISO8583, ACH, EDI, and XML-based standards. Intimate knowledge of Diebold and NCR ATM hardware,
emulation, message format and run-time environments. Vast experience in international transaction
processing and currency conversion applications.

card issuance products, terminal and workstation products, low-level interfaces for PIN pads, card-

• Most recently, I was responsible for analyzing needs and selecting a Managed File Transfer solution. I

• Worked with enterprise architecture team, using EA Enterprise Architect, to consolidate an

• Primary systems architect for the Fiserv Prepaid Card product. Designed distributed transaction
processing platform for fault-tolerant, high-volume routing and authorizations.

• Completed a due-diligence analysis of a potential billion-dollar acquisition of a spin-off from a
multinational semiconductor and telecommunications equipment company that designs and
markets wireless telecommunications products and services.
Wells Fargo (Sep. 2001 – Jun. 2008)
• Held primary systems architecture role in designing and developing all delivery, staging, and front-
end components for Wells Fargo’s Check Archive Delivery System, designed to archive 17 million
check images daily. Designed and developed APIs for interactive and bulk retrieval and implemented
the bank’s subpoena request system, using C#.NET, Java, IBM UDB, Apache Tomcat, and MS IIS.
Fair Isaac/Card Alert Services (Aug. 2000 – Aug. 2001)
• Served as enterprise and systems architect for a novel multi-financial-institution ATM fraud analysis
and alerting system based upon multilevel rules processing, geolocation analysis, and targeted
merchant categories. Developed complex SQL Server data model using erwin. Served as lead
developer of all analytics using Transact-SQL stored procedures and a sophisticated Visual Basic-
based analytic front-end. System still operated by Fair Isaac after acquiring Card Alert Services.
Cigna/Intracorp (Jun. 1998 – Aug. 2000)
• Analyzed Intracorp Patient Care Management System RDB-based RDBMS for conversion to Oracle.
Converted over 200,000 lines of C++ database stored procedures and 500 tables to Oracle and
PL/SQL.
