  • 10. Presentation Features Language Features Language features are parts of the text which attract our attention and help us understand the text. What language features were used in the poster? Presentation features help us to find information quickly and easily. What presentation features were used in the poster?

  • 13. Produce an online safety leaflet for teens. What sort of information could you include? Consider: Uses of Social Media, Benefits of having online presence, Dangers such as ID theft, trolling and bullying, Your ‘online brand.’ What do people think of you based on your online presence?

You could include ideas such as: ● Asking your child to show the sites they use, ● Showing your child how to set profile settings to private, ● How to post photos and videos, ● Trolling and bullying behaviour. (75 words)

Editor's Notes

  1. Start session by giving matching exercise: Types of SM and what you can do on each platform. Answers on next slide.
  2. Students make questions based on the answers given. They then scan the text (next slide) for the information required to make relevant questions. (additional A4 sheet available with text which can be sliced up into 3 - saves paper!)
  3. The padlet was designed so that students could collaborate and add their ideas to one ‘giant document.’ They can then take and use ideas to produce their own writing.
  4. These two slides were used as a warmer for a session on SM.
