PDMS CATALOG & SPECIFICATION SPECIALIST/SPRD
SPECIFICATION WRITER
Am extremely knowledgeable of the PDMS Paragon Module with an emphasis on the ability creating
new 3D components in a timely manner. Have the ability to resolve issues with components and
isometric drawings without the assistance of the Software programmers. Able to adjust to different
client’s specification structures. Works well with 3D designers to organize priorities of support
requests in order to meet isometric issue schedules and keep the Project within budget. Can toggle
between PDMS and SPRD software programs to assist with Companies’ priorities in order that only
one resource is required saving the company the cost of separate support resources for each
program.
WORK EXPERIENCE
JACOBS ENGINEERING, Houston, TX 2014 to 2015
PDMS Cats & Specs Specialist / SPRD Pipe Code Creator
• Created 3D components and specifications using the PDMS software program. Also created
specifications using SPRD software program and tested components loaded into specifications
to verify functionality.
• Reduced piping design delays by using SPRD Plus and Classic 7.1.2 for creating and modifying
specifications for PEMEX and Shell projects within issue schedules, ensuring 3D designers in
accessing components.
2. • Met schedules without exceeding budgets by to create isometrics using SP3D, checking
functionality of components added to specifications before releasing to designers for inputting
into 3D model, ensuring no delay to 3D designers in implementing piping designs.
• Sustained design requests and issue schedules by using PDMS Version 12.2 and supporting
Shell Carmon Creek Project, Noble Big Bend Project and INVISTA's Gulf Coast Projects,
creating 3D components and modifying specifications.
• Assisted Jacobs Calgary Office support for Shell Carmon Creek Field Facilities Project creating
3D components and specifications.
• Provided support for 2 separate 25 million dollar DuPont Projects with over 25 designers located
at the Jacobs Rogerdale Engineering Office as well as supporting DuPont’s 12 regional sites
with 20 designers completing over 100 requests a month by myself by creating 3D components
and modifying or creating new specifications. This allowed Dupont to have a single technical
specialist regionally so support requests could be completed in a timelier and fiscally responsible
manner then to have to have requests completed by their central technical group located in
Wilmington, Delaware.
• Able to adapt to the different client’s structure of their specifications and component creation.
VARIOUS CONTRACT FIRMS FOR DUPONT / INVISTA 1994 – 2012
PDMS Administrator / Cats & Specs Specialist / Piping Designer
PDMS Admin, PDMS Version12.2 Wilmington, DE 2011 to 2012
Created and maintained Project Model Databases at DuPont Hub and at the satellite locations.
• Improved processes by merging several DuPont Models at facility into one model using my
Catalog and Specifications as well as my Administration knowledge, ensuring ease for designers
in accessing various design databases instead of having to switch between different project
Models, saving time for the system to generate a different Project Model.
• Enhanced review process of Project Model by organizing PDMS Model MDB's per DuPont
Criteria before said model was archived, creating design database and ensuring ease in quickly
pulling specific model from database for reviewing them individually.
PDMS Cats & Specs Specialist, Wilmington, DE 1996 to 2011
Created 3D components and specifications using the PDMS software program at Day &
Zimmerman then Mustang Engineering for DuPont then INVISTA.
3. • Saved money by resolving problems with components and isometric drawings eliminating the
need for AVEVA specialists.
• Increased efficiency by developing budget and creating Facilities Engineering Agreement for all
INVISTA Projects, ensuring accurate budget submitted to client.
• Ensured design group in making scheduled issues by constructing 3D Models of Instrument,
Piping & Electrical Components using the PDMS CAD System, inputting into appropriate
discipline codes in timely manner.
• Reduced spending and eliminated outsourcing by creating cable tray and hanger components as
required and developing new nozzle specifications and components, such as DIN, British
Standard and Tri-Clover connections that were not part of original PDMS package.
• Improved compliance by populating Corporate Pipe Code Database and maintaining integrity of
Design Model per Company Guidelines and Standards for variety of Textile Facilities for DuPont
and then INVISTA.
• Eliminated additional client costs for completing upgrade designs by managing piping design of
various textile plant upgrades and expansions using Microstation 8 or AutoCAD 2006 CAD
systems after first doing on-site field surveys.
