Design thinking means defining a problem and fixing it with the best possible solution. The new education policy proposed by the union government gave importance to the design thinking model and vocational education system. Union government already implemented certain plans like Atal tinkering Labs to increase the importance of implementing of Design thinking model in schools. But the state government is lagging behind. Certain efforts like little kites and Samagra tinkering labs were made but they didn't create any results. As we are going through the revolutionary pandemic environment the state government and our schools should take some steps towards modern learning theories like Design thinking and cognitive learning.

2. What is design thinking ?
● Design thinking is a 5 stage solution based approach to solve problem .
● It is an iterative non linear process.
● Design thinking is a way of thinking and working supported by a collection of
strategies and methods. Basically it’s a problem solving skill achieved through 5 stage
process.
3. What are the 5 stages in design thinking
process ?
1. Empathy
2. Define
3. Ideate
4. Prototype
5. Test
4. STEP1
Empathy
● Empathy is the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes to start “seeing”
things through his/her eyes.
● The objective is to identify problems that others may be facing.
● The students need to see themselves in the user’s shoes and empathize by seeing,
thinking and feeling.
5. STEP2
Define
● Once the students have identified the problem and understood what the others must
be facing, they need to clearly define the problem.
● The Point of View (POV) statement helps transition into the define stage in Design
Thinking.
● The three elements that make up Point of View - the user, need and insight.
6. STEP3
Ideate
● Using different ideation techniques, help students brainstorm, explore their creative
potential and come up with solutions to challenges.
● Then aid them in identifying the best solution from a pool of ideas.
7. STEP4
Prototype
● Students now need to validate the ideas generated.
● Help them trim things down, or marry thoughts and customize. The idea
needs to become tangible.
● Also it is needed to collect feedback or suggestions from targeted users as
well as for appreciation.
8. STEP5
Test
● Finally, testing will help determine what works and what does not.
● It may even land you and the students back at the drawing board! Or if
the user likes the solution, then the process of design thinking can end.
● The best idea goes into execution
