Benefits Of Hard Work
All of my life I've had to learn to be a hard worker. My family would never let something just be handed to me. Growing up, I've had to earn any
privilege I wanted, such as a cell phone. My family members are all hard workers and that has carried on to me. Hard work is very important to
my family and I. Hard work is not just doing the bare minimum for a job or goal, it is instead putting in all the effort someone has to get it done to
the best of their ability. The amount of effort and time put into something is what makes a hard worker rather than the difficulty of the job. For
example, the factory worker that gets the job done faster than their peers or the lawyer that practices their closing argument a few extra times. Not
everyone has the quality of being a hard worker, but anyone can learn if they truly want to. Jobs that are rigorous are very beneficial in life because of
what they can teach people. These types of jobs can teach someone how to better themselves and their life. I hold the belief that everyone should
have a tough job at least once in their life because learning to be hardworking is the most important thing in life. Those that work hard are typically
more successful in their careers than others. Employers search for people that are hardworking, so those that are tend to get better jobs and have
more opportunities. They are usually wealthier because they get promotions rather than those that do not work as hard. There is no need for them to
worry about losing their job because they do so much that is beneficial to their employer. Having this wealth will make them less stressed financially.
Any stress they do have, they learn to cope with quickly because they have to work hard to get a job done no matter how stressful it is. So, compared
to others they have a more stress–free life overall. They have a motivation to work towards any goal they please, no matter how much work and effort
is needed to achieve it. In my family, we have a strong belief that hard work builds character. That's why I believe that people that are hardworking
usually have better personalities than those that are not. They learn discipline from their work and are more enjoyable to be around because

Hard Work Research Paper
Success literature going back hundreds of years espouses the benefits of hard work. But why is it that some people seem to feel that "hard work"
is a dirty word nowadays? I define "hard work" as work that is challenging. Both hard work and "working hard" (i.e. putting in the time required to
get the job done) are required for success. A problem occurs when people think of challenging work as painful or uncomfortable. Does challenging
work necessarily have to be painful? No, of course not. In fact, a major key to success is to learn to enjoy challenging work AND to enjoy working
hard at it. Why challenging work? Because challenging work, when intelligently chosen, pays off. It's the work that people of lesser character will
avoid. And if...show more content...
Hard work is something you look forward to because you know that it will lead to tremendous growth. And you eventually develop the maturity
and responsibility to understand that certain goals will never just flow into your life; they'll only happen if you act as the driving force to bring
them to fruition. When faced with the prospect of saying to yourself, "If I always avoid hard work, I'll never in my life get to experience X, Y, or
Z," it's a little easier to embrace the benefits of hard work. What will you miss out on? You'll probably never run a marathon, marry the mate of your
dreams, become a multi–millionaire, make a real difference in the world, etc. You'll have to settle for only what going with the flow can provide,
which is mediocrity. You'll basically just take up space and die without really having mattered. The world will be pretty much the same had you
never existed (chaos theory notwithstanding). If you want to achieve some really big and interesting goals, you have to learn to fall in love with hard
work. Hard work makes the difference. It's what separates the children from the mature adults. You can keep living as a child and desperately hoping
that life will always be easy, but then you'll be stuck in a child–like world, working on other people's goals instead of your own, waiting for
opportunities to come to you instead of creating your own, and doing work that in the grand scheme of this world

Hard Work Value
The belief in hard work and its rewards is a universal American value. Born of one of America's foundational mythologies, that all men are created
equal, hard work is thought to be the key to securing financial and social success. When all are equal, so the argument goes, success depends not on the
circumstances of one's birth–race, class, gender or geography–but on one's natural talents and willingness to work hard. Within this meritocratic
framework, hard work, not opportunity, is the primary determiner of achievement. Contemporary ethnographies support this claim; studies of the
working–class from Silva, Hochschild, and Lamont, along with Khan's ethnography of the upper middle–class, confirm a fundamental belief in the
merit of hard...show more content...
Lamont's respondents ranked "being hardworking" as one of the most valued positive qualities a person could have (pg. 20). The workers Lamont
interviewed also placed emphasis on the non–monetary rewards of hard work; conflating hard work with responsibility and caring for others (pg. 24).
It is through hard work that these workers exert some measure of control over their often–unpredictable environments (Lamont, pg. 23). Arlie Russell
Hochschild's book, Strangers in Their Own Land, echoes many of the same observations. Hochschild's respondents spoke of working hard for their
whole lives and being proud of that hard work, regardless of the outcome (pg. 155). Hochschild's workers expressed the sentiment that work is its own
reward, and that hard work is honorable (pg. 149, 155). Notably, the working–class subjects of these studies rarely emphasize the financial rewards of
hard work except when relative to providing for others–yet another mark of the honor hard work confers. Like their working–class counterparts,
members of the upper middle–class share a commitment to hard work that deemphasize economic rewards and focuses on character and ability.
Shamus Rahman Khan's book, Privilege: The Making of an Adolescent Elite at St. Paul's School, interviewed students who, though economic success
seems certain, remain acutely aware of the need to work hard. Students believe hard work won them entry to

Importance Of Hard Work
Why is hard work important? Well what is hard work? Hard work is putting in your all, applying yourself, and giving it your best effort. Hard work
is persisting when others have given up. Hard work is continuing to strive for your best even through temporary failure. It means enduring through
hard times. Hard work is something that you can control, and it is up to you to do hard work. Hard work in a work environment is when you exert
an effort to learn, perform and produce beyond the level of expectation. It can mean that the "boss" has noticed you do not leave work undone or under
done, you keep up with necessary changes and you don't sit around complaining about the job and let the work slide. Self–motivated, proud of your
work and willing to keep everything in play while things might be going through changes or changing management. Hard work shows and you can
and definitely will be rewarded for it. So why is hard work important? Well what are some positive side effects of working hard and giving it your all?
You would be surprised how something as simple as applying yourself can help you out in your life.
First off you are showing not only your boss but your fellow employees that you are motivated, driven, and responsible. This builds trust among a
workplace environment. More of your coworkers will come to you with questions, projects, and opportunities because they have seen how you
apply yourself and trust in your ability to perform well at your job. Hard work shows those around you can and will perform. Second, not only does
it positively impact those around you, it positively impacts how you feel about yourself. If you are doing your best and its showing, you feel better
about yourself and as a human being. You feel as if you are excelling in life and with those feelings come true happiness.
Doing hard work and knowing you are able to put the work in will also make you more confident as a person, student, and professional. Confidence
is key to success. Someone who has confidence can pull a lot more off than those who are shy, even if they aren't as intelligent. And if you go into a
presentation or interview type of situation confidence always proves to help you do and look your best. Hard work

Importance Of Hard Work
Having a good work ethic is needed in our day to day culture. Work ethic is important. Donna Devlin, Staff Coordinator for Boston University Center
for Career Development explains how being punctual is vital. Your co–workers rely on you to show up for work on time, and can impact others if you
are not their. Give your supervisor plenty of notice if there's a change in your schedule (Devlin 1). Also, you must value the importance of hard work.
Dr. Michael J. Miller, Chief officer of Ziff Brothers Investment and editor– in–chief of PC magazine and Info world indicate that work ethic is
declining both in America as well as other industrialized nations. Concern has been expressed that the decline in work ethic corresponds to lower
levels of job performance, higher levels of absenteeism and turnover, and increases in counterproductive behavior ranging from unauthorized to
employee theft (Miller 2). Others have argued that work ethic is not in decline, but is different among generations. You need to have professional
behavior. If you are working in a public area, be aware of those around you. Be courteous and friendly to all visitors, and put your personal phone away
while at work. Frequent phone calls can take time away while at work, and can make you seem unprofessional. Also, follow the dress code. Be sure to
know your organization's dress code and act accordingly (Devlin 1). A good work ethic is needed. You need to use professional behavior. It is good to

The Value Of Hard Work
Anh Hoang Professor King ENG 101 12 Dec 2015 The Value of Hard Work Essentially, the concept of one's ability to participate in manual labor has
been juxtaposed with strength and endurance. However, it is not considerable to say that white–collar are always "weaker" than other labors because a
person needs both the effectiveness in physical works and the mental effort that he/she gives in order to be successful on works. With this belief, I
will analyze three opinions about hard work in Crawford, Braaksma, and Colon works. To begin, manual workers play an important role in the
world. In his essay "The Psychic Satisfaction of Manual Works", Crawford describes himself as a household electrician whose work mostly "got
covered up inside walls" (212). This work seems not to be interesting at all, but he still takes this position with pride because he believes his work
has "a social currency". In other words, Crawford understands that his job as an electrician is needed by many people, and he works not only to
better himself but also to enjoy his favorable work, as a craftsmanship who "consist only in the desire to do something well, for its own sake." (212).
He sees his manual work valuable and comfortable to him, and he hopes that others, especially one who has the same job with him understand the
valuable of manual works. Because manual labors are in front of reality judgement as all of their failures or shortcomings are interpreted, they have the
right to be proud of

In other words, Crawford understands that his job as an electrician is needed by many people, and he works not only to better himself but also to enjoy his favorable work, as a craftsmanship who "consist only in the desire to do something well, for its own sake." (212). He sees his manual work valuable and comfortable to him, and he hopes that others, especially one who has the same job with him understand the valuable of manual works. Because manual labors are in front of reality judgement as all of their failures or shortcomings are interpreted, they have the right to be proud of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
