Objectives of Focused Work
Teachers and students will favour this resource for collaboration, communication and
creation to support the principles and practices of effective learning and teaching
described through the model of pedagogy.
The use of this resource by teachers and students across schools to:
• Collaborate between teacher and teacher, student and student and student and
teacher in developing and choosing appropriate tools in LIFE to support learning
progress against the achievement standard of the curriculum.
• Communicate between teacher and teacher, student and student and student
and teacher using tools in LIFE to demonstrate learning and cycles of feedback to
move learning forward
• Creation and construction of knowledge by teachers and students using tools in
LIFE to demonstrate understanding and provide evidence of learning progress
against the achievement standard.
• Students are acting as instructional and supportive resources for other students
• Teachers find opportunities to network with other teachers to share online
resources for planning and teaching.

LIFE is used as a key resource by teachers to technology enrich and
shape learning environments enabling progress to be personalised,
visible, explicit and responsive for each student.
Key activities of LIFE resource activate collaboration, communication
and creation and promote a learning environment that enables
active, interactive and personalised engagement of each student in
their learning.

10. Professional Learning for LIFE in 2014
Professional Learning in 2014 will be provided from School Service
Centre North and will include: Skill development events, Networking
and sharing workshops, Masterclasses and strategic in-school
support.

Editor's Notes
An LMS is a resource to support learning and teaching in a contemporary online environment. The LMS being used is called LIFE. LIFE is a commercial, ‘off-the-shelf’ learning and teaching product that includes a defined set of functionalities. It currently provides an easy-to-use, safe and innovative online learning and teaching environment for teachers and students, that supports access to content and collaboration spaces via a range of online resources.
LIFE enables teacher access to current curriculum, support material and tools to facilitate planning for learning and teaching. LIFE enables teachers and students to personalise, access, collaborate and communicate in a variety of ways. LIFE also provides functionality to support student assessment and tracking, monitoring and reporting.
