one of the largest and oldest regulatory
compliance UCC filers in the industry. Their
services include public record searches,
UCC filings, flood zone searches & filing,
mortgage filings and document retrieval
services. These services are delivered
through a combination of web based
applications and local field offices.
Its client base primarily consists of
financial institutions including banks,
leasing companies, commercial finance
organizations, corporate credit
management companies and title
companies. The client delivers business
value to its customers by automating
their government compliance filing
and due diligence search processes.
E-Filing (Electronic UCC Filing)
The client’s business technology platform represents the most robust national resource
uniquely dedicated to the needs of the lending and leasing industries. It is also constantly
developing ways to improve efficiency in the UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) handling, as
it relates to UCC filings, public record search as well as retrieval and portfolio management.
The client supports UCC submissions using XML and WEB based technologies.

2. Business Challenges
The client had grown inorganically in eFiling submission space. Multiple platforms and multiple
applications were used to support Web and XML submissions. Moreover, technologies used
(XML with VB 6.0 and WebFiling with text file based approach) were unable to support
increasing volumes and the required turnaround time. The client’s eFiling system did not have
built-in fail-safe mechanism to avoid duplication of filings, methods to discover reasons for
failure and the current status of any particular filing. Huge increase in eFiling support by many
US/Canadian states (19-Web, 7-XML) forced the client to increase support for them to remain
competitive in the market. The existing solutions were time-consuming, error prone and costing
a negative business impact, due to the client switching to another provider.
T/DG Solutions
T/DG solved the problem in two parts – by re-engineering a uniform business process to be
used by all the Web/XML/e-Recordation [real estate filings] submissions and then building an
application that would support the new process. A dedicated team of business experts, domain
consultants and technical architects worked with the client to capture the as-is process and pain
points. They also gathered scalability and performance requirements for the proposed design.
The new design provided two distinct components for:
T/DG presented architectural solutions for this E-Filing system. Impressed with the possibilities,
T/DG was invited to redesign the E-Filing system for its proven strengths in executing
end-to-end projects and strong project management expertise.
