The past tense is used for actions that
took place in the past time, But not a
specific time is given. This tense
doesn’t indicate whether the action was
complete or incomplete.
In simple words, we can say that it is
used to describe the past situation, past
action and past habits.

e.g. play →played. played
cross→ crossed, crossed.
The irregular verb forms all the three different forms of
verb.

come→ came, come , go→went, gone
