Introduction:
Over the last two decade the readymade garments of Bangladesh remarkable success. Today
this readymade garments sector is multi-billion-dollar manufacturing and export industry. This
garments sector plays an important role overall economy of Bangladesh.
As one of the leading garments their needed to establish buying house, planning to increase share
in marketing. As a new readymade garment of Bangladesh they need to penetration into market
of CIS countries as well as. Japan, China and other countries creating new market of export
volume and provide more and more order. And it contributes prospective factories in
significantly earning of valuable foreign exchange for the country.
A new company related with garments sector creates job opportunities with job market in
modern compliance factories. Garment export is certainly one of the most significant social and
economic developments in contemporary Bangladesh. A new company likes JAHARA
FASHION LTD; need to introduce its productive quality in advertising for creating product
demand on customer.
A new garment company can use direct export of high quality product with best quantity and
price in foreign market for earning more order. In Bangladeshi garments sector many company
also like to invest on Bangladesh for low expense and high quality work arrangement.
Keeping environment and decent labor practice issue in mind, all our garment factories have
designed in a manner that satisfies both local and international legal requirements, which are
responsible for manufacturing.

JAHARA FASHION LTD. is an export oriented company. It is located in BSCIC industrial
area, Gazipur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Marks description of this company is “MADE IN
BANGLADESH”. It has a group of skilled employee, managerial staffs and workers.

Organizational Structure:
The word Organizing means the process of creating an organization‘s structure. Organizational
structure means the formal arrangement of jobs within organization. It is consisting of work
specialization and departmentalization. Jahara Fashion Ltd. follows the some assumption from
both work specialization and departmentalization.
Work Specialization: work specialization is a process to divide the work. It is consisting with
job rotation, job simplification and job enlargement specialization.
Here, Jahara Fashion Ltd. follows the job rotation system and job simplification properly. They
use job rotation system to train the employees/managers properly. On the other hand, job
simplification use to doing the admin job by the managers.
DEPARTMENTALIZATION: It is the basis by which jobs are grouped together. It is an
important part of organizational structure.
In Bangladesh, the profit making organizations follow:
 Functional Departmentalization
 Product Departmentalization
 Geographical Departmentalization
 Process Departmentalization
 Customers Departmentalization
Jahara Fashion Ltd. follows the process departmentalization and customer departmentalization.
There business is manufacture based so, they follow the process departmentalization. On the
other hand they also identify their customers. So, it is easy to say, Jahara fashion Ltd. follows
both process departmentalization and customer departmentalization.
Contemporary Organizational design: New and Modern organization designs are known as
contemporary organizational design. Here, Jahara Fashion Ltd. follows the contemporary
organizational design. They mainly use Network Organization to minimize their expanses. They
have some partners who can produce product less than them. So they follow this Network
Organization. They also follow the project structure design. The employee works continuously
on the project due to the managers of Jahara Fashion Ltd’s is working on the project.
My Opinion about their organizational structure: Organizational structure is very important
issue for the every organization. Here, Jahara Fashion Ltd. doing job rotation, job simplification.
In departmentalization, they follow process departmentalization and customer
departmentalization. So, their organizational structure is comparatively better position than
others RMG sectors.
Situation analysis:
Situation analysis is a collection method that managers use to analyze an organization’s internal
and external environment to understand the organization’s capabilities, customers, and business
environment.
Jahara fashion ltd is an export oriented knit oriented composite industry. There is present some
internal and external issues for the company which play an important role in their business
process. The situation analysis is a critical step in establishing a long term relationship with
customer. Some of factors are explain below:
External environment analysis:
External environment is a composedof all the outside factors or influences that impact the
operation of business. The business must react or act to keep up its operation flow. A business
does not operate in a vacuum. These factors happen outside the business. It will affect possibly
the objectives of the business & strategy.
There is some example of external factor that can affect Jahara fashion ltd internally,
Competitor analysis: the factors that affect the most business in the degree of competition.
Some business think get on with their own plans is the best way and they ignore the competition.
Though any profit making company doesn’t need any competitor.
Strategy group mapping: strategic group map help to define the target of firm’s competitor.
This process will make Jahara fashion ltd several from other RMG industry. This process will
help the industry to identify its close rivals.
Industry structure: it is talk about the number and size distribution of competitors in an
industry. The number and size of competitors and the several key factors are extremely important
in fixing a firm profitability.
Macro environment analysis: macro environmental factors affecting the small clothing
industries and their competitors. There is six major macro environments which is – demographic,
natural, political, technological and economic.
Macro environmental factor:
Economic factor: As a RMG industry, Jahara fashion ltd they have to face some economic
factors. Which product sells their competitor at a low cost, but they can’t sell that same product
at a low cost. Because their competitors are already developing. It has both negative and positive
impact on the clothing industry. People have more disposable income, during economic boom.
Like, they may buy more clothing, increasing sales for clothing manufacturers, wholesalers and
retailers. In the other way recession have the opposite effect.
Technological factor: Technological factors affect the clothing industry including availability of
resources, production and demand. Jahara fashion ltd need to access faster technology to increase
their production capability. This organization has to emphasized science and technologies.
Legal and political factors: this factor is affecting the small business in the clothing industry. It
has to face some issue such as workers right and child labor law. Jahara fashion ltd has to face
some political issue in our country. Like long time hortal and during the time of rana plaza
incidents. But they rarely face political issue in the out country.
Social factor: In the context of globalization, companies are facing the challenges of adapting
effectively to changes area.
Internal environment analysis:
Organization’s internal environment is basically includes with the elements of organization,
current employees, management and corporate culture which defines employee behavior.
Internal factor helps Howa Company meet with its objectives.
There is some example of internal factors that will affect Jahara fashion limited:
Symbol: symbol is a sign, mark or word that indicates the representing idea, object or
relationship. Jahara fashion limited also uses their symbol.
Language: it is important to motivate your employee. Some of organization uses a specific
language or jargon to inspire employee. Jahara fashion limited should use this for their
employee.
SWOT Analysis:
SWOT analysis is a one kind of business strategic plan.Albert Humphrey credited the SWOT
analysis technique. SWOT analysis stands for S.W.O.T.
Here,
S= Strength
W= weakness
O= Opportunities
T= Threats
It is use to make/create organizational strategy. Strengths help you to identify your
organization’s advantages. Weakness helps you, what should you improve in your business?
Opportunities help you to identify your business advantages. And finally, Threats help you to
identify your obstacles/barrier. Strength and weakness is the part of internal factors.
Opportunities and threats is the part of external factors. The external factors may include
macroeconomic matter.
We did ‘SWOT analysis” over the Jahara Fashion Ltd. as a part of our project report. Here it is,
Strength:
Identify the business advantages. So, Jahara fashion ltd. also has some strength:
Teamwork: Jahara Fashion Ltd. is consisting of well trained management team, employee and
labor. They are beautifully connected with one another. They support one another from their own
place.
Functional Planning: Jahara fashion Ltd is consisting of 52 managerial staff. They create plan
in order to various department based. All of department are related one another. They plan for
various departments such as, knitting, dyeing, cutting, production, accounting, hr dept and
factory manager department.
Following assumptions give them extra advantages in the field of corporate market.
Weakness:
Identify the business disadvantage. So, Jahara fashion ltd. also has some weakness:
Limitation Of The Technology: we the people of the present world, we live in the age of
technology. But comparatively our country is not as develop as modern world. So, that is a very
big issue in the field of RNG sectors. As a result, Jahara Fashion Ltd. is not able to use
technology properly.
Lack of power supply: Though Bangladesh is a full of natural resources (GAS), but industries
are not get those properly. In Bangladesh, most of the resources (GAS) are used in domestic or
household work. Besides, load shedding is a very common issue in our country.
Location: Jahara Fashion Ltd.’s location is a huge disadvantage for them due to bad condition
of roads and the transportation system.
Opportunities:
Identify the business advantages which could be a fact in the business. Jahara fashion ltd. also
has some opportunities. Like:
Good relation with the customers: A proverb goes that time, “Customers are the king”. So, it is
important to make sure a good relation with the customers. Jahara Fashion Ltd. makes a good
relation with the customers.
Product Quality: At present, Bangladesh earns a huge name and fame for good quality export
product in the whole world. So, Jahara Fashion Ltd. is also increasing the product quality.
Threats:
Identify the business obstacle to improve business.
Increasing price of raw materials: Most of the RMG sectors faces this increasing the price of
raw materials. So, Jahara Fashion Ltd. face this problem.
Increasing Vat/Tax: Increasing vat is a common issue in our economy. As a result, the
production cost is increasing due to increasing vat. Jahara Fashion Ltd. also face this problem
like others.
Export market change uncertainty: Changing market is a very common issue in our country
as well as the whole world. So, as a result, it’s a one kind of threats that face every RMG sectors.
My opinion about SWOT analysis at Jahara Fashion Ltd. : SWOT analysis help us to know
and summaries the key issues and the Opportunities facing in the Business. As I see, Jahara
Fashion Ltd. also has a lot of sector to expand their business. As we all know that, Bangladesh
Garments sectors are in the leading position after china. It is a huge opportunity to expand their
business all over the world.
Company’s Objectives:
Jahara Fashions ltd. Is a 100% export oriented knit composite industry. As a profit making
organization they have some fixed & certain objectives. Jahara Fashions ltd’s main objective is-
become one of the leading companies with customer satisfaction. They also ensure their product
quality. They all-time try to contact with their buyers and supply product according to their
buyers demands.
Goals: To ensure quality service/product with the best value to their customers by maintaining
follows:
 Keeping strong commitment with the people they do business.
 Ensuring a pleasant, clean and professional working condition for their employees.
 Maintaining all the compliance of Green Products.
Strategic management
The set of managerial decisions and actions are that determines the long-run performance of an
organization. Jahana Fashions ltd’s managers want to develop the organization’s strategies. That
is an involving to all basic management functions like: planning, organizing, leading and
controlling. This is help to them to achieve the goals and objectives. The managers plan how the
organization will do what it’s in business to do, how it will they compete successfully and how it
will they attract and satisfy their customers or buyers.
Types of Organizational strategies:
Jahara Fashions ltd follows two types of organizational strategies.
1. Corporate-level strategies
2. Competitive strategies
Corporate-level strategies:
A corporate-level strategy is when a business makes a decision that affects the whole company.
A corporate-level strategy affects a company's finances, management, human resources, and
where the products are sold. The purpose of a corporate-level strategy is to maximize its
profitability and maintain its financial success in the future. A corporate-level strategy is utilized
to help increase competitive advantage over its competitors and to continue to offer a unique
product or service to consumers. Jahara Fashion ltd. is aware about that. And try to implement
corporate level strategies to be more competitive over their competitors as well as achieving
customer demand.
Jahara Fashions ltd flowing two types of Corporate level strategies:
1. Growth strategies
2. Stability strategies
Growth strategies
They want to expand their business and also creating new product to increase the customers.
Growth strategies try to increase organizations business by expansion of new product. But they
have face few problem that’s why they can’t perform well. The main problem they faced that
quality problem like sewing defects, Sizing defects. The sewing defects like open seams, wrong
stitching techniques used, same color garment, but usage of different color threads on the
garment etc. Sizing defects like Wrong gradation of sizes, difference in measurement of a
garment part from other, for example- sleeves of XL size but body of L size. Unskilled worker
can’t proper us of raw materials for this reasons they can’t get maximum output. Their problem
is they can’t choose they are customer and market. Another problem is of their technological
problem. Because their technologically disadvantage for this they cannot produce quality
product. They can’t get their raw materials for that reasons they can’t get quality full product.
For this reasons they want to take growth strategies it helps to them solved the problem. Growth
strategies help the managers to created new product in target customers in new market.
They are flowing two types of growth strategies:
a. Vertical Integration
b. Horizontal Integration
Vertical Integration:
Backward Vertical: They want to get materials in their own source. This is help them to
controlling the input. By this step they achieve proper use of raw materials.
Forward vertical: In this steps they wanted to gain control over output. For this they establish
their own distribution channel and ignore other distribution.
2. Horizontal Integration:
Jahara Fashions ltd have not any dyeing in their company. For this reasons they faced
technological problem. But their nearest competitors have dying. They make a plan to combine
their operation with their competitor so that Jahara Fashions ltd can use their dying system on
their product line.
a. Stability Strategy:
Some time they faced many kinds of problem. For this reasons they want to take `stability
strategy. It help the organization to handle the problem.
b. Competitive Strategy:
Textile industry of Bangladesh increasing day by day. So their competitors are also increased. If
they are not became distinct compare to their competitors, they will lose their market. For this
the take competitive strategy to sustained in the competitive market.
Jahara Fashions ltd choosing two competitive strategy.
a. Cost leadership strategy
Their production cost so high compare to their competitors. Cost leadership strategy reduces
production cost to relative their competitors. When reduces the production cost they can achive
lower price for their products. When least product price in same quality product then customers
are buying more product at lower price. By this company can increase their sales and make more
profit easily.
b. Differentiation Strategy.
Jahara fashions ltd. want to offer their customers best quality product for this reason they take
differentiation strategy. It help them to produce best quality product, in terms of product design,
features, brand image, quality, or customer service.
They follow those strategy, as a result, they are doing their work properly. So, they expand their
business by followed those strategy.
Managerial issues and key managements:
The managerial issues and key management of JAHARA FASHION LTD, is very interesting
and too much commitment. MR. BENOZIR AHMED who is the chairman and managing
director of this company control his company as well as. He has first priority on team building
which he done well. His managerial managers are very skillful and well experience. In this
company they work on departmentalization program. The accounts & HR (Mr.SUJON
MAHMUD) has controlled all the department managers and collect all the information. He is a
funny person and motivates his partners and employee all time. He is very sincere on his work.
Other departmental managers are MD ANISUR RAHAMAN in factory department, MD
MONIRUZZAMAN in product department, MD NURE ALAM in knitting department and
MD.NOZRUL ISLAM in cutting department. They all are controlling their department very
strongly.They monitoring whole working process of production line. While monitoring they plan
some issue which is very beneficial for them like product quality, materials overload, arrange
enough raw materials for extra supply. They always analysis their managerial issues and find out
what to do for better movement. Overall their managerial issues are as well as. They always
collect the feedback of every department. And its help them to know what going on product line.
Management skill:
On skill approach, this company’s managers are very good. Their technical skill is very well
design. They have enough knowledge about their Owen department. They are high qualified. All
the manager are true sincere on their work.
On human skill they are also authentic. They help other partners and employees on their
departmental work together as a strong team. For this they have no misunderstanding each of
others.
Managerial role:
Interpersonal role is the most important part of JAHARA FASHION LTD, company’s
management system. Their alliance or, liaison is very strong. Cause their leader always motivate
themselves.
On informational role they always monitoring their departmental program and report to the HR.
They instruct their non-managerial workers and employee. Based on information collect they try
their best to do. From collecting information they faced some problems like communication gaps
and absence of employee on product line. But they control it with their experience and method.
Customer service strategy:
Their customer service strategy is very interesting. As a new company they want to try
introducing their products to customer. They want to make a good relationship between their
service and customer. They always analysis customer demand and based on it they design their
product. They provide services beyond the customer’s expectation. They research on market and
gather more and more information for customer satisfaction. They want to give 100% pure raw
material product to the customer in an available price. Their strategy is to satisfy customer with
their product and introduce their product as a brand. They provide their best service for their
customer. They try to give the products on timely deliver.
But sometime they face some problems in transportation to one place to another for political
issues, sticks, and environmental problems. At the end they try their best for customer
satisfaction.
Performance in Social Media:
As a new company their first target is to introduce their product on social media. Cause social
media play an important role in this present time. They have introduced themselves on google
almost but not properly. They strongly think to adjust with social media. They have an Idea
about advertisement. They believe, if customer watches their products on online, customer will
bought their products.
Challenges:
On managerial work JAHARA FASHION LTD, company’s manager have many challenges.
Their first challenge is to controlling their employee. On second they have lots of competitors.
For this they are trying to set best managerial function concepts than others. Finally they faced
some challenges to shift their products on outside of the country. But this problem they maintain
as well as. They have a competitors challenge also. Cause they are new and they have small area
and small number of equipment which is not good for customer attraction. And that time their
competitors take the advantage. Sometime the competitors give their product on low cost which
are not possible for themselves. They faced some problem also to take loan from bank, because
they have no big place and guarantee of movement.
They have faced also a challenge on team working. A virtual team is not effective for them. They
try to make flexibility on their work, but sometime they can’t. they have also a problem on
growth strategy and competitors analysis.
Opinions of managers:
The entire managers of different department present their opinion based on their work experience
about their company’s establishment.
Managing director Mr. BANZIR AHMED said that “I believe on team work and hardworking”
Accounts & HR Mr. SUJON MAHMUD said that “we want 100% quality maintain products”
Production manager Mr. MONIRUZZAMAN said “we convert our industry as a big company
with our hard work”
Factory manager Mr. ANISUR RAHMAN SAID “we focused on a work system for creating
better workforce”
Conclusion:
There are many readymade garments in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is the suitable place for the
RMG sector due to cheap labor fair trade status. Bangladesh earn the highest amount of us dollar
from this sector. RMG sector is very popular in Bangladesh. They have the best opportunity to
develop their business here.
Jahara fashion limited is a developing RMG sector in Bangladesh. They grow up their business
in chronological way. They following many steps to achieve their goal. Though they have low
market share, they will create a good position in the market. They are try their best to overcome
with their competitor. Jahara fashion limited needs better workplace for develop their business.
They have to choose better place for their industry. Because their communication way is not so
good. They have to access new technology for grow up their business and achieve their goal. We
know that, they have to face many problem. But they are working hard and use their own
techniques to grow up their business. In the future they will be a leading RMG industry.
Company visit:
It is a great pleasure to us to visit JAHARA FASHION LTD as a part of our Management 210
course. We all of the Group members visited this company which is located in konabari,
Gazipur, Dhaka, Bangladesh.we discuses with the employees, workers and the managers about
this company. We get information from them that is help us to do our research done. We ask
them many question. Questions are given in the Appendix part.

The business must react or act to keep up its operation flow. A business does not operate in a vacuum. These factors happen outside the business. They plan for various departments such as, knitting, dyeing, cutting, production, accounting, hr dept and factory manager department. So, Jahara fashion ltd. also has some weakness: Limitation Of The Technology: we the people of the present world, we live in the age of technology. But comparatively our country is not as develop as modern world. So, that is a very big issue in the field of RNG sectors. As a result, Jahara Fashion Ltd. is not able to use technology properly. Lack of power supply: Though Bangladesh is a full of natural resources (GAS), but industries are not get those properly. In Bangladesh, most of the resources (GAS) are used in domestic or household work. Besides, load shedding is a very common issue in our country. Location: Jahara Fashion Ltd.’s location is a huge disadvantage for them due to bad condition of roads and the transportation system.

My opinion about SWOT analysis at Jahara Fashion Ltd. : SWOT analysis help us to know and summaries the key issues and the Opportunities facing in the Business. As I see, Jahara Fashion Ltd. also has a lot of sector to expand their business. As we all know that, Bangladesh Garments sectors are in the leading position after china. It is a huge opportunity to expand their business all over the world.

Jahara Fashions ltd flowing two types of Corporate level strategies: 1. Growth strategies 2. Stability strategies Growth strategies They want to expand their business and also creating new product to increase the customers. Growth strategies try to increase organizations business by expansion of new product. But they have face few problem that’s why they can’t perform well. The main problem they faced that quality problem like sewing defects, Sizing defects. The sewing defects like open seams, wrong stitching techniques used, same color garment, but usage of different color threads on the garment etc. Sizing defects like Wrong gradation of sizes, difference in measurement of a garment part from other, for example- sleeves of XL size but body of L size. Unskilled worker can’t proper us of raw materials for this reasons they can’t get maximum output. Their problem is they can’t choose they are customer and market. Another problem is of their technological problem. Because their technologically disadvantage for this they cannot produce quality product. They can’t get their raw materials for that reasons they can’t get quality full product. For this reasons they want to take growth strategies it helps to them solved the problem. Growth strategies help the managers to created new product in target customers in new market. They are flowing two types of growth strategies: a. Vertical Integration b. Horizontal Integration Vertical Integration: Backward Vertical: They want to get materials in their own source. This is help them to controlling the input. By this step they achieve proper use of raw materials. Forward vertical: In this steps they wanted to gain control over output. For this they establish their own distribution channel and ignore other distribution.

Cost leadership strategy reduces production cost to relative their competitors. When reduces the production cost they can achive lower price for their products. Differentiation Strategy. Jahara fashions ltd. want to offer their customers best quality product for this reason they take differentiation strategy. BENOZIR AHMED who is the chairman and managing director of this company control his company as well as. He has first priority on team building which he done well. His managerial managers are very skillful and well experience. In this company they work on departmentalization program. The accounts & HR (Mr.SUJON MAHMUD) has controlled all the department managers and collect all the information. He is a funny person and motivates his partners and employee all time. He is very sincere on his work. Other departmental managers are MD ANISUR RAHAMAN in factory department, MD MONIRUZZAMAN in product department, MD NURE ALAM in knitting department and MD.NOZRUL ISLAM in cutting department. They all are controlling their department very strongly.They monitoring whole working process of production line. While monitoring they plan some issue which is very beneficial for them like product quality, materials overload, arrange enough raw materials for extra supply. They always analysis their managerial issues and find out what to do for better movement. Overall their managerial issues are as well as. They always collect the feedback of every department. And its help them to know what going on product line.

As a new company they want to try introducing their products to customer. They want to make a good relationship between their service and customer. They always analysis customer demand and based on it they design their product. They provide services beyond the customer’s expectation. They research on market and gather more and more information for customer satisfaction. They want to give 100% pure raw material product to the customer in an available price. Challenges: On managerial work JAHARA FASHION LTD, company’s manager have many challenges. Their first challenge is to controlling their employee. On second they have lots of competitors. For this they are trying to set best managerial function concepts than others. Finally they faced some challenges to shift their products on outside of the country. But this problem they maintain as well as. They have a competitors challenge also. Cause they are new and they have small area and small number of equipment which is not good for customer attraction. And that time their competitors take the advantage. Sometime the competitors give their product on low cost which are not possible for themselves. They faced some problem also to take loan from bank, because they have no big place and guarantee of movement. They have faced also a challenge on team working. A virtual team is not effective for them. They try to make flexibility on their work, but sometime they can’t. they have also a problem on growth strategy and competitors analysis.
