automation in which all the components requiring change were identified
and converted to use XCOM, a much cheaper alternative.
Implementation of Multi-Row-Fetch Concept: This is a latest feature in
DB2 available only from version 9.0 onwards. We identified the high CPU
consuming programs that can be tuned using this concept and achieved
1000+ minutes mainframes CPU saving on a monthly basis at peak periods.
DB2 Upgrade from V7 to V8: Since DB2 V7 is already out of support
from IBM, there are chances of any issues related to the functioning of DB2
software, if they arise at any time, remaining unresolved. Therefore system
was upgraded to DB2 V8 to allow running all the DB2 applications
uninterrupted. After this, upgrade of DB2 V8 to New Function Mode in
production subsystems is required to use all features of DB2 V8.
