3. CALCULUS
INTRODUCTION
• (from Latin calculus, literally "small pebble
used for counting")
• Mathematical study of change, in the
same way that geometry is the study of
shape and algebra is the study of
operations and their application to solving
equations.
4. INTRODUCTION
• Aryabhatta also known as
Aryabhatta I or Aryabhata
(476-550 Centuries)
• Famous Indian mathematician
and astronomer.
• Gupto Empire (Golden period
in Indian history)
• He considered to be one of
the mathematics who change
the course of mathematics
and astronomy to great
extent.
• He is known to have
considerable influence on
Arabic science world too.
5. BIODATA
• Name: Aryabhatta
• Date of Birth: 476 CE
• Date of Dead: 550 CE
• Place of Birth:native
of Kusumapura or
Pataliputra
• Invention: Algebra
• Book: Aryabhattiya
6.
7. CONTRIBUTION
• Wrote the famous Aryabhattiya which contains mathematical and
astronomical theories that have been revealed quite accurate in
modern mathematics. For instace, the value of Pi (3.14159).
• Create Zero in number.
• He also worked on the approximation for pi , and may have come to
the conclusion that pi is irrational.
• He gave the area of a triangle as perpendicular with the half-side is
the area.
• He also discussed the concept of sine in his work by the name of
ardha-jya, which literally means "half-chord".
• He provided elegant results for the summation of series of squares
and cubes.
• He was the first person to say that Earth is spherical and it revolves
around the sun.
• He gave the formula (a + b)2 = a2 + b2 + 2ab.
• Include the theory that the earth rotates on its axis.
9. CONCLUSION
• Aryabhata changed his world as well as ours through
his discoveries in the field of mathematics as well as
astronomy. Without Aryabhata many of the things we
take for granted may not have been here. His estimate
of "PI", sidereal year, and use of zero greatly changed
the world. Each one of his achievements had a great
impact. Aryabhata deserves to win the Nobel Prize for
all the tremendous work he did that changed his world
as well as ours.
