2. About C-CAP
Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP)
works with public schools across the country to
prepare underserved high school students for
college and career opportunities in the
restaurant and hospitality industry.
The Arizona program, based in
Phoenix, encourages students to work in the
industry and to avoid debt while getting further
education.
3. “Arizona Culinary Teachers and
Friends” partnered with C-CAP to
take students to a professional
knife skills workshop at
Arizona Restaurant Supply on
November 23, 2013
4. Who did you serve?
We served high school students
whom we brought to this
professional skill training on the
use of knives – an essential tool
in the culinary industry
5. What did you accomplish?
• We were able to get students
to improve their knife skills
and manage their time while
using that skill under the
pressure of a competition then
7. What is your team’s plan for an
ongoing relationship with the charity?
• We will work hand in hand with C-CAP to
provide opportunities for disadvantaged
students to improve their industry skills.
• We will encourage students with a
passion for culinary to participate in
future C-CAP workshops, career days and
competitions.
8. How would your charity benefit from
receiving a portion of the prize money?
C-CAP would benefit by
enabling it to provide further
scholarship opportunities for
needy students; in the
end, students would be the
beneficiaries of your support.
