• Computing and storage capacity are provided by the distributed “edge DCs”.
• Traffic of some applications might be able to be served at network edge
• Can avoid traveling long distances to centralized cloud DCs.
• Can reduce the amount of traffic to the cloud
• Can decrease the transmission latency of network connectivity.
• Can also help avoiding links and nodes at high risk of congestion, disruption, and
