Introduction
Business communication can be referred to as the overall communication that allows sharing
the company's information within or outside the company. This business communication
helps in the communication purpose of the company between the employees and the
organisations. Formal business communication serves the management of interactions
between the employees and helps to achieve the business objectives. Business
communication can be implemented by market plan proposals and suitable meetings,
executing decisions, and demonstration of new ideas.
In this assessment, a reflective report is made as per the communication and its overall effect
in the workplaces. The barriers and solutions are also discussed in this assessment, which
helps to overcome the problems of low productivity, poor customer services and lower
customer engagement levels.

Barriers and strategies of business communication
Business communication in an effective way can be defined as the overall practice of sharing
valuable pieces of information, ideas and thoughts within the employees. This practice helps
in the communication purposes of the organisations. Strategies for business communications
help implement the purpose (Fashuang, 2018, pp. 14-16). The various communication
strategies involved in business are specifically aimed towards the improvement of the
working relationships between employees, managers and employers as well. Some of the
crucial strategies include like minded employees, sharing of one another’s perspectives and
perceptions, active listening, empathy and teamwork (Yurievet al. 2018, p.15). Nevertheless,
there are several barriers associated with successful business communications and as such
creates hindrances in the path of achieving business goals and objectives. Such hindrances
mainly arise due to the influence of various internal and external factors such as culture,
social factors and technology. Such differences in socio-cultural values further creates
disturbances in the business communication channels.

Management culture and approaches for successful communication
Management of business communication has a great role in achieving the business goals for
the organisations. Also, the culture of organisations plays a vital role in business
communications (Yusof and Rahmat, 2020, p.1). Business culture in any organisation allows
the contact and interaction of the different regional people from different backgrounds.
Cultures of an organisation have a higher chance of improving the related cultural
knowledge, that further helps in the achievement of mutual trust and cooperation within the
employees. As Korotkov, Martynova, and Semenova, (2018, pp. 126) stated, cultural values
of an organization has the highest potential of affecting the company performance, both
positively and negatively, irrespective of the department. Therefore, it is the sole
responsibility of the company’s management to ensure the overall behaviour of employees
remain in alignment with the company values, goals and mission.
Efficacy of the communication strategies in business
Successful business communication is managing the interactions and communications with
the organisation's employees to meet business objectives and goals. Such communication is
highly needed for the mitigation of the various issues arising at the workplaces. Proper
communication is necessary to supress the socio-cultural differences that has a high chance of
acting as a communication barrier (Chernova and Kudryavtseva, 2020, pp. 79-83). The
overall communication can be considered as a two-way approach in which both the
individuals speaking to each other needs to alter its body language and communication
method as per the hearer. However, during the implementation of the communication
strategies, managers and employees need to be empowered with the ownership sense of
business. This will ultimately enable proper work freedom and smooth execution of tasks
within the stipulated time periods (Chaney and Martin, 2014, p.12). Lastly, in order to
improve my own communication skills, it would be vital for me to become an active listener
first, and then proceed further.
Business communication skill improvement
Improvement of the business communication skills is important. There are different ways to
improve the communication skills for the development of the business. Listening skill
development is important in that particular issue (Chernova and Kudryavtseva, 2020).

Collaboration as well as the team work is also important for the development of the
communication skills. It is important to determine that how can I spend my leisure time.
Before responding it is important to take the times. An appropriate knowledge as well as the
understanding is also important for the development of the business communication skills.
Important business communication elements
According to my point of view the important business communication elements is to maintain
the clarity as well as the consistency. Clarity is very important as clarity helps to improve the
connection as well as the engagement. Improvement of the clarity and the engagement
increases the trust as well as the transparency (Korotkovet al. 2018). People can know exactly
what he or she have to do through maintaining the clarity. On the other hand, for maintaining
the consistency in the communication, teamwork, discipline as well as focus is important.
Consistency in the communication helps to improve the product design as well as the
management of the company.
Reflection
Description
Business communication helps in sharing information between the employees and
organisation (Neill, 2018, pp. 1-26). It is followed by many steps and also has some barriers
and challenges. Some of the barriers, impact and challenges are necessary at the time of
implementation of communication strategies within workplaces. This will enable the business
managers to identify the required technology and tools needed. Some examples of effective
communication in the workplace include active listening, where the individual is highly
responsive and keen in listening to what someone else is saying.
Feelings
Considering the study, I can gain an overall knowledge of business communication and its
implementation strategies. I can also understand the impact of business communication on
the achievement of business objectives and goals. I can relate the communication strategies of

any organisation with the gained knowledge. In business communication, Clarity is very
important as clarity helps to improve the connection as well as the engagement. In this
context, an example of effective communication is friendliness where the overall
characteristics of the individuals fosters mutual understanding and trust. This will help me in
establishing proper working relationships at workplaces.
Evaluation
In this assessment, a presentation is made on successful business communication and its
effect in various workplaces. By studying this report, I will be able to develop my
communication skills that will further aid me in achieving my goals set (Bovéeet al. 2016,
p.45). By discussing the impact, strategies, barriers, and solutions, I can increase the
conceptual idea.It will help me develop the business. Similarly, an example of effective
communication is clarity and volume, where the individual needs to remain audible and clear
while speaking. This process will ultimately help me in observing how others speak and
communicate.
Analysis
By studying this assessment, I also felt that I have many conceptual gaps in reading,
understanding and interpreting the effectiveness of good communication. I need to mitigate
my intercultural communication gaps to achieve the goals. Additionally, I also felt that I need
to become more compromising in nature, thereby leading to better adaptability. Empathy is
another example of effective communication, where individuals are quite profound in
understanding one’s emotion and value of saying’s. This will help me in gaining confidence
while addressing some other individual’s concern.
Conclusion
Considering the presentation, it can be concluded that nonverbal, verbal, and gesture
communication needs the improvisation to develop my business communication skills. Also,
the improvisation of personal and professional skills for business communication is
necessary. In this report, the impact of effective business communication in the progression
of the business is discussed.

Action plan
Considering the presentation, after realising the necessity of effective business
communication skills, I need to improve my business communication skills. For this purpose,
I need to undertake a course associated with language learning. I need to enhance my
visualization skills as well. In addition to this, I also feel that my ability to argue certainly
lacks because of poor communication ability. In case I am able to improve my overall
communication, I will be able to argue over a certain topic in a more detailed manner. This
can be effectively achieved by taking part in various group discussions and interactions with
friends, family members and peers. However, the time required to improve my arguing skills
through communication is is going to be approximately 1 week. Besides this, since it is a
digital contemporary world, I also need to focus on the improving my overall technical
competence. This will help me in enhancing my overall potential of overcoming technical
hindrances. The approximate timeframe required to develop my overall technical competence
is going to be 2 weeks.
Conclusion
In reference to the above context, it can be summarized that proper business communication
play a vital role in the organisation's communication purposes and so as effective business
communication. By studying this report, an individual will be able to enhance its overall
communication skills, thereby identifying the various barrierss of proper communication as
well. It can also be concluded that business communication has some barriers which hinder
the implementation of the strategies.

receives the message, which then decodes for better understanding. Finally, feedback ensures
