Profile/Career Objectives
Presently I am working for a College in Nottingham managing and running the Area 6 Step
into work Youth Contract. This provision is targeted at 18-29 year olds who are unemployed
and seeking either employment or to move into an Apprenticeship. I deliver all the inductions,
carrying out initial assessments, creating bespoke ILP’s for them, delivering a weekly job
club plus running and delivering weekly employability workshop. In addition to these I look
at any underlying issues or concerns they may have, drugs, debt, housing etc, these are dealt
with and learners are signposted accordingly.
Within my previous roles as a Tutor/Trainer creating and delivering both employability and
Vocational BTEC qualifications to a variety of client groups as both group and 121 sessions.
I was involved in the delivery of the NEET provision (Non-mandatory) in conjunction with
the councils “Step Up” programme. This involved engaging with this age group ensuring their
retention met all set KPI’s and SLA’s, this was achieved by ensuring you managed and
determined their individual learning styles making it a fun and productive learning
environment. Prior to this I was employed as Team Leader by the same company, delivering
the CAP (Now CWP) contract in Leicester and surrounding counties, sourcing placements
within the Voluntary and not for profit sectors.
Before joining my present company I was working for a large training provider as a
Tutor/Trainer delivering the FND contract, delivering employability skills in group or 121
sessions.
I have worked as a Placement Officer, delivering the DWP Community Task Force Project.
Placing customers into 13 week voluntary placements within organisations I sourced locally.
Previously I ran a Response to Redundancy Learning Centre in Wolverhampton, dealing with
both short and long term unemployed, delivering a variety of Learn direct Courses, in
addition I carried out a variety of work shops covering Interview Techniques, Effective
Communication, building Self Esteem, Role plays, Interview Questions and preparation.
Before this role I was as an NVQ Assessor, with the same company, delivering Level
2 and 3 Business Improvement Techniques (Lean Manufacturing), to candidates at
their place of work, covering the East and West Midlands. I have achieved my A1
