2. RADIO ADVERT
• In the beginning I added the sound of rain to the
project as it would add atmosphere and set the
mood of the advertisement.
• It was taken from Freesound.com so it was
completely royalty free and legal to use in the
advertisement.
• I then, added the sound of someone vaping, which is
the focus of the advertisement, to convince people to
stop vaping as it has seen a dramatic rise in
popularity over the last 5 years.
• This was also taken from Freesound.com .
3. RADIO ADVERT
• I added effects and adjusted the gain levels of the
elements of the mix that I had added so far.
• The effect I added was on the rain sounds, they fade out to
shift the listeners focus on to the narrator which is
convincing them to stop vaping.
• The fade out effect is effective as it can be seen as the
protagonist walking indoors and being “safe” which can
represent their quit from vaping.
• I also added background music to the mix of the radio advert to
make it more generally interesting.
• The music is royalty free and therefore is legal to use in this
advertisement.
• The gain is turned down heavily to make sure it strictly remains
background music.
4. RADIO ADVERT
• After all the foundation of the radio
advertisement was complete, I then recorded
the narrator on my iPhone which had better
quality than expected. This was all that was
needed to record clear and high quality vocals
for the advert.
• There is also an overdub at the beginning of the
vocals which say “stop” .
• The vocals deviate from the original script a
small bit, but it gets the message of the advert
across effectively.
5. RADIO ADVERT
• This is the finished product as seen in the editor.
• The project has 7 tracks altogether which work
together to create the sound of the
advertisement.
• I have ensured that all gains of each element of
the radio advert are correct so that it remains
pleasant to listen to and so that no sounds are
drowned out by each other.
