2. How effective is the combination of
your main products and ancillary
texts ?
I think the combination of our main documentary, the print adverts and
the radio production work well because we kept the title “To The Root It”
common throughout the documentary, print advert and radio advert. This
is so that the audience can recognise the connection.
By placing the channel 4 logo to the
right middle it looks like a
conventional channel 4 print
advert.
3. • To make a connection between the radio advert and the documentary we
used the same voice for the narration that we did for the radio advert
voice over. This is so that the audience can make a common connection
between the two. Also by using small vox pops from the documentary in
the radio advert this gives the audience a brief insight into what the
documentary might entail.
4. How did you use technologies in the
construction, research, planning and
evaluation stages ?
For any research that I needed to carry out I
would use the Googles search engine to aid me
in finding the information I needed.
I used YouTube mostly to gather my audience
feedback for the documentary and the radio
advert. This was so people could watch the
video’s and then give there opinions on them.
5. Adobe premiere is the programme which we uploaded
all our footage onto and then from there we edited it
into a sequence which we wanted to use for our final
documentary. We could also put music and images onto
our production by using this programme.
We used adobe Photoshop to create our print advert.
Once we had captured the image we uploaded it and
added on the title, strap line and channel 4 logo. We
also used Photoshop to edit the brightness of the
colours.
Blogger is the online portfolio I used to store all my
written work such as questionairres, brainstorms and
storyboards.
6. • For all of the filming of the interviews, cut aways, and vox pops we used a
recording camera and sometimes utilising the tri-pod for extra stability
when filming canted images of high shots. Other accessories for the
camera we used was the microphone for when interviewing so to get the
best quality sound and nullify any exterior noise.
