Why do you like this film?
- I like this film because it is a tragic yet beautiful insight into the love between two
people and the loss of a loved one. I like this film due to the fact that it shows that
true love never dies even if the people do. It emphasises that love is a huge part
of our lives and can change how we see the world.
What does it include?
- It includes an argument between the two main characters, an insight into their
daily lives, affection, a flashback of Jerry and Holly before he passed away, a
tragic loss and the determination to overcome the loss of a loved one.
How has it influenced you?
- It has influenced me to think that there is still romance within society and that
true love does still exist even though it’s harder to find. It has also influenced me to
want to spend more time with my family and enjoy life more because something
could quickly take time away from us.
3. Safe Haven
Why do you like this film?

I like this film because it shows how love can be found within a short space. I
also like this film due to the fact that the woman is playing hard to get and
eventually the man gets what he wants – her. I also like the film because the
storyline is detailed and includes flashbacks of moments in the woman’s past
which is the explanation as to why she’s in the new town.
What does it include?
- It includes flashbacks of her past (the reason why he moves to the small town),
chemistry between two characters, insecurities, true love, a single father whose
had to deal with a tragedy in his life and the connection between the two main
characters.
How has it influenced you?
- It has influenced me to believe that anything is possible even if it doesn’t seem
that way. It has influenced me to let my guard down slightly and let more people
in because then, better and happier things will happen to me just like in the film.
4. Dirty Dancing
Why do you like this film?

I really like this film because the choreography and music within the film is really
passionate and powerful for me personally. I love watching dancing and this just
shows how dancing can be felt rather than just seen. It uses emotions to show the
attachment between the characters and their dancing.
What does it include?
- It includes tension, flirtation, complications between the main man and woman,
arguments/conflict – when the woman begins dancing and she isn’t doing it very well,
love when they fall for each others as dance partners, success and happiness when
they complete the hardest move correctly.
How has it influenced you?
- It has influenced me to see that love can be found through anything whether it be
bumping into each other or through dance. It has also influenced be to believe that
music is an important factor to any film. I think that it has influenced me to want to
dance more and become more active because watching it makes me happy.
