Romania – a HS railway aproach

The high speed railway network development has become really posh for Central and Eastern European Countries, Romania included. At the moment when UN Economic Cooperation for Europe and TER project are talking about a HSLs master plan for TER countries evaluating the best corridors is a must. During the TER Steering Committee in Brno we have proposed an alternative solution to the official taking in consideration the demography, the industrial development and the priorities of Balkan region. A future network to connect Athens to Istanbul to Sofia to Bucharest to Belgrade and Budapest would bring the South-Eastern European countries closer one to another and closer to Western Europe through the most ecological land transport mode.

 the acquisition by CFR Călători of 45 EMU, worth EUR 200 million is expected in the
near future.
 High interest in refurbished DMUs acquisition by private operators
 Rolling stock manufacturers and components clusters in Arad, Cluj, Craiova and

Polish rail transport law did not overcome such important amendments in 2010 as in 2009. There was a lengthy amendment act transposing several directives supposed to be enacted in 2010, which is unfortunately still proceeded by the Polish Parliament. The act transposes Directive 2008/57/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 June 2008 on the interoperability of the rail system within the Community1, Commission Directive 2009/131/EC of 16 October 2009 amending Annex VII to Directive 2008/57/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the interoperability of the rail system within the Community2 and Directive 2008/110/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 amending Directive 2004/49/EC on safety on the Community’s railways3. This draft mainly concerns the interoperability of the Polish trans-European rail system with the Community trans-European rail system which has to be ensured while constructing and operating the parts of this system. It also particularizes the competences of the President of the Rail Transport Office (in Polish: Urząd Transportu Kolejowego; hereafter, UTK) in this area. This act is supposed to be enacted by September 2010 and to enter into force at the end of the year.

We are not against Metro as a mode of mass transport. Why Pune Metro project has become a matter of great concern is because despite serious issues, DMRC’s Pune Metro DPR was blindly approved by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) without any independent study, transparency and public consultations. Subsequently PMC has also approved a proposal to grant 4 FSI in the Metro influence zone of 500 mtr on either side of Metro corridor. It is necessary that Citizens should have information about the Metro and 4 FSI plans so that they can form own opinion regarding whether they would want these plans to be implemented. This presentation giving basic information about the Metro & 4 FSI plans and related issues & impacts has been prepared in a citizen friendly language & format for public information and awareness. The term "artificial intelligence" was first coined by John McCarthy in 1956 to describe efforts to develop computer programs capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. This concept was first introduced at a conference held at Dartmouth College, where programs demonstrated capabilities such as playing chess, proving theorems, and interpreting texts. In the early stages, Alan Turing contributed to the field by defining intelligence as the ability of a being to respond to certain questions intelligently, proposing what is now known as the Turing Test to evaluate the presence of intelligent behavior in machines. As the decades progressed, AI evolved significantly. The 1980s focused on machine learning, teaching computers to learn from data, leading to the development of models that could improve their performance based on their experiences. The 1990s and 2000s saw further advances in algorithms and computational power, which allowed for more sophisticated data analysis techniques, including data mining. By the 2010s, the proliferation of big data and the refinement of deep learning techniques enabled AI to become mainstream.
