INTRODUCTION: All members introduced themselves to our new incumbent, the Rev. Janet Read-Hockin.
MINUTES: Corrections to the minutes of the May 1st meeting:
Under community development, the date for the art show is corrected from Oct. 27th to Nov. 24th.
Acceptance of minutes as amended: Proposed by Brian Jones. Seconded by Doug Goss. Approved.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Brian Jones reported that :
Assets: There is a higher cash amount at the moment because of the need for $50,000 for the kitchen
renovations.
Liabilities: There is a deficit in the coffee hour funds.
Memorial Fund: All projects for which donations have been given must be approved by the parish council and
the executive council.
H.S.T.: We were given a refund of $3,600.
Rectory Reserve: The rectory was upgraded at the cost of $5,000.
Income: Our parochial offering is down by $9,000. Hopefully, this will change since we now have a new
incumbent.
Fund Raising: This is low at the moment. However, there are two bus trips coming up as well as the Christmas
bazaar.
Other Income: The donations from the Our Faith, Our Hope campaign are another source of income.
Savings: Because of our new furnace, we saved money on fuel. Since we did not have a full time incumbent,
money was also saved on the rector’s salary.
Insurance: This has been paid.
On Track ?: This is difficult to say. The month of July was a deficit month. However, overall, we are close to
budget.
Outreach: Overall, the revenue for Outreach is down from a surplus of $ 4,515.81 on Jan. 1, 2012 to a deficit of
$1,084.01 as of now. The donation to the food bank was raised from $3,600.00 to $5,400 and this money was
given to the food bank. However, donations for this have yet to come in. We are $3,000 short.
Our inter-faith lunch programme also needs fund raising so that it can continue. Donations for Faithworks are
expected in the Autumn.
Motion to accept the financial report: Moved by Sonia Halloran, seconded by Anne Moir. Passed unanimously.
PROPERTY REPORT: Sonia Halloran reported that:
Kitchen: It is in the last stages of completion. $30,000 was budgeted for the renovation. To date $21,900 has
been spent. We will probably be $5,000 under budget. Countertops, sinks, wall plastering, plumbing and
electrical work are still to be done.
Garden: It looks wonderful.
Plastering: A quote will soon be received for repairs in the church especially at the Manderley entrance and in the
library.
Roofing: Both the rectory and the church will need this work done in the future.
Garage: Repairs will be needed in the future as well as a new roof.
A special thanks was given to Reg McCrae for all he does including his work on the kitchen renovations which
saved money because we didn’t need to hire someone. Thanks was also extended to Deb Chapman for her hard
work on the rectory.
Motion to accept: Brain Jones Seconded: Brian Todd Approved.

to be discussed at Parish Council should be communicated with in writing.
BOOKCASE: Freda Gearing suggested we place a bookcase at the back of the church so that people will be
aware of the books that they could borrow. Mike Riley will be asked what it would cost to make one. If it is too
expensive, we’ll look elsewhere. Moved: Freda Gearing Seconded: Doug Goss Approved.
STREET FESTIVAL: Ann Moir reported that it will be held September 29th from 12 noon till 3pm. Joan-

animals will take place on Sept. 30th. This year, because Thanksgiving is early, we will celebrate Thanksgiving
only on the national holiday, Oct. 7th .

Pollesel’s suggestion for a Centennial fund that would bring a holistic approach to stewardship- one third local,
one third national, one third international. A report will be given regarding this at the next Parish Council
