2. TARGET READERSHIP
My music magazine is aimed at both genders age ranged from 16-22. The readers will generally
interested in new music and the charts. Parents of the readers will fall into the B/C1 grouping as
the reader will rely on the parents for finance, However some readers may work part time as they
are either in college or at university. The people who read this magazine will have a good social
life and enjoy having fun whilst listening to the latest new music. The average reader will like
going shopping and owning some of the typical popular brands.
3. FORM AND STYLE
My magazine is an A4 full colour magazine which will contain the chart
update and information on new bands and singers to look out for. The
colours on the front cover are going to neutral and not to bright as it wont
appeal to my target audience. The main image on the front cover with feature
someone who is in the magazine. The cover lines will stand out off the main
image and will include things that are going to be in the magazine to grab the
audiences attention and make them want to buy the magazine. Exclusive
interviews on singers and bands will also be included in most issues, the charts
will also come with a review to give the gossip on who’s gone up and down in
the weeks chart. Graphic are going to be bold and messy to appeal to my
target audience. The price of my magazine is going to be around £2.50 which
is the general price for a music magazine.
4. THEMES AND TYPICAL
FEATURES
The same colours and layout will be used in every magazine. The same
features such as charts and interviews will be included in each magazine. The
same kind of artists which sing new music will be interviewed in each issue to
appeal to my target audience. In every issue advertisements will be included to
interest readers. Pictures will be included rather than just big blocks of text to
prevent readers from getting bored and not interested in the magazine.
5. POTENTIAL ADVERTISERS
A range of brands will advertise in my magazine particularly those which are
to do with music and teenagers such as radio 1, HMV, ipod, 4music. Which
will all appeal to my target audience which may make them buy there products.
Some advertisements will be placed on the front cover to catch the attention
of the reader.
6. EDITORIAL TEAM
The editorial team will be made up of experienced writers and designers
which know how to appeal to teenagers and young adults. The editors will
know what teens want so will use the correct language when writing articles
and text. Readers of the magazine will regularly be asked to contribute their
ideas. The aim of the team is to bring new music information to those who
want to know it.
