2. General Information
Central universities common entrance test (CUCET-2020) is scheduled during May – June,
2020 for admission to different programmes of 14 Central Universities and 4 State
Universities at different centres across the country

Candidates are required to apply online through CUCET – 2020 website.
All research programmes (RP) examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT)
mode
All integrated/UG and PG examination will be conducted in offline (OMR) mode.
CUCET – 2020 provides facilities for applying to admission to these universities by single
examination process with nominal examination fees.

4. Question paper pattern (UG &PG)
Part A: Language, general awareness, mathematical aptitude and analytical skills – comprising of 25 MCQs Part
B: Domain Knowledge – comprising of 75 MCQs. This part may consist of three/four/five sections.
Each section will have 25 questions. A candidate is required to answer a set of any three sections (75
questions). However, he/she must ensure that he/she fills right circles in the OMR Sheet corresponding to the
question numbers attended.
For example: - Part B of Entrance Test-Paper (eg. UIQP01) shall consist of four sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry,
Mathematics and Biology comprising 25 questions each. Applicants shall be required to attempt any three
sections with combination of either PCM or PCB.
While choosing the combination applicant must ensure that he/she has appeared in respective subjects at
10+2 or Pre-Board or equivalent qualifying exam.
Note: For Admission to some Integrated Programme/MBA/LLB/MCA or any other general Programme, only
one paper comprising of 100 MCQs covering English language, reasoning, data interpretations/numerical
ability, general awareness and analytical skills will be held.
5. Contd.,
ii. Applicant will have to choose one correct answer on OMR sheet. However, if an applicant marks multiple
entries on OMR sheet for particular question(s), it will be treated as wrong answer with negative marking.
iii. There will be negative marking in CUCET-2020 in UI and PG programmes.
Each correct answer will carry 01 mark and for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. Questions
not attempted will not be assessed and hence will not be considered for preparing final merit list.
iv. If an Entrance Test-paper contents X number of sections and an applicant is required to answer Y
number of section but if an applicant attempt all „X‟ sections then best of „X‟ sections as per instructions
on the question booklet will be considered for preparation of Merit list.
v. Each paper will be only of Two Hours Duration.
6. Contd.,
(a). After completion of UI & PG Programme(s) exam in CUCET-2020, applicants will be allowed to take
Question Booklet and duplicate copy of OMR Sheet. However, each applicant must ensure to handover
original OMR Sheet to the Invigilator.
(b). After completion of RP Programme(s) exam in CUCET-2020, applicants can login and view the
question paper and his answer keys at the time of submitting Grievances.
After CUCET-2020 result is declared, applicants will be allotted seats in order of merit in their respective
programme and university/institute through online/offline counselling.
The counselling session will be conducted at each university/institute separately and notified accordingly
on their respective websites.
There will be separate fee for online counselling.
Applicants are advised to visit the CUCET-2020 and respective PUs website for admission counselling
process.

9. CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF TAMILNADU
(CUTN), THIRUVARUR
There are about 26 Departments and with 62 Programmes with around 2133 students and 129 Regular
Faculty members.
This is one of the best central university pursuing UG PG and research courses among central universities.
One of the few universities offering integrated B.Sc.,B.Ed.,(4 year) course in mathematics.
CUTN was allotted 516.76 acres of land by the Government of Tamil Nadu in two Revenue villages viz.,
Neelakudi and Nagakudi.
The academic campus is being developed in Neelakudi village (412.03 acres) and residential campus in
the Nagakudi village (104.73 acres).
Construction works commenced from April 2010 onwards.
And they are constructing more and more buildings in recent days.
