The members of Fifth Harmony all auditioned separately and were brought
together by the judges of X Factor USA. At the same time of Ally, Normani,
Dinah, Lauren and Camila were put together to create Fifth Harmony, there
were also two other groups created as the judges couldn’t decide as ‘they
cared too much’ to let them go.
When you watch back to all their auditions on X Factor USA, you can tell the
audience prefers Camila Cabello than the others as they cheer for Cabello
more, showing favouritism right from the beginning.
From this article, it is saying that a fan has taken out Camila’s voice out of
Fifth Harmony’s song ’That’s My Girl’ and proving it still sounds just as good
but is obvious that her voice isn’t in the song. Personally, when I have
listened to both of the songs, you can really tell that Cabello isn’t in the
song.

Billboard Article
The first person in Fifth Harmony to collaborate with
another singer was Camila Cabello with Shawn
Mendes. This created tension with the group as
Cabello asked her former band, Fifth Harmony, if
she could help out with the songwriting. However,
she was declined. After, she was then shut out of the
group even though she wanted to stay in and carry
on with her solo record. Furthermore, Cabello
realised that she couldn’t write a record whilst still
being in the group. This is when she told the group
she wanted to ’focus moving on.’ Come December
when Cabello had her ‘major success’ with ‘Havana’
which is still up on Billboard’s Hot 100.
