Being able to say we are releasing our fourth album seems absolutely crazy. From the very
beginning of the process we wanted to make our fourth record our proudest moment to date, and I
genuinely feel we’ve achieved that. It’s been really hard work recording most nights after shows -
it’s been a real labour of love, as they say!
Liam
We’ve grown up, and you know, we’ve tried to be more hands on with the writing this time. A lot of
our singles have been bold and more pop based, but I’d say as an album this is a bit more chilled.
Zayn
As we’ve grown, we’ve aimed for the music to grow up with us, hopefully we’ve done that with
this album and hopefully our fans will have come on that journey with us. I really want them to love
it and feel as proud of it as much as we do.
Harry
When you’ve been working on the album all year it’s all built up to that one moment when you put
it out and everyone hears it. You feel vulnerable because you’ve put yourself in to that album all
year and it’s just going to come down to that moment. I think we’re a mix of excitement and nerves
at the same time to see what everyone thinks.
Niall
I think it’s a really special album, it’s by far my favourite yet. When we first discussed the direction
for the album we all said we wanted to strike a balance of the music we’re into now and what our
fans would want and expect to hear from us - I think we’ve done that with FOUR. We can’t wait for
our fans to hear it.
One Direction (commonly abbreviated as 1D) are a British pop boy band based in London,
comprising Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. They signed
with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh
series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010. Propelled to international
success by social media, One Direction's four albums, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012),
Midnight Memories (2013) and Four (2014) broke records, topped charts in most major markets,
and generated hit singles including "What Makes You Beautiful", "Live While We're Young", "Story
of My Life" and "Steal My Girl".
Their achievements include four Brit Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards among many
others. According to Nick Gatfield, the chairman and chief executive of Sony Music Entertainment
UK, One Direction represented a $50 million business empire by June 2012. They were proclaimed
2012's "Top New Artist" by Billboard.[2] According to the Sunday Times Rich List, by April 2013,
they had an estimated personal combined wealth of £25 million ($41.2m) making them the second-wealthiest
musicians in the UK under 30 years of age.[3] In 2014, Forbes listed them the second-highest
earning celebrities under 30, with the group earning an estimated $75 million from June
2013 to June 2014.[4]
After the release of Four, One Direction became the first band in the U.S. Billboard 200 history to
have their first four albums debut at number one.[5] Their third album Midnight Memories was the

named One Direction as the top artist of 2014.[7]
One Direction are a five-piece boy band consisting of Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993 in
Wolverhampton), a music technology student at City of Wolverhampton College;[141] Louis
William Tomlinson (born 24 December 1991[142] in Doncaster), a student at Hall Cross School;
[143] Niall James Horan (born 13 September 1993 in Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland), a student at
Coláiste Mhuire, Mullingar;[144] Harry Edward Styles (born 1 February 1994 from Holmes
Chapel, Cheshire), a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School;[145] Zain Javadd "Zayn"
Malik, [146] [147] [148] from West Lane Baildon, Bradford,[149] a student at Tong High School.
[148] Horan, Malik, Payne, Styles and Tomlinson all applied as solo contestants, but failed to
qualify for the Boys category. After a suggestion by guest judge Nicole Scherzinger, they were put
together to form the band One Direction, thus qualifying for the Groups category.[150]
Payne had auditioned in 2008 to The X Factor' s fifth series when he was 14 and reached judges'
houses, but Cowell thought he was not ready for the competition and asked him to come back in
two years.[141] This time Cowell chose him to be part of One Direction. Harry Styles was the
frontman for the band White Eskimo with lead guitarist Haydn Morris, bass guitarist Nick Clough
and drummer Will Sweeny.[145] Malik was noted for becoming nervous in bootcamp, and when he
was told he had to dance, he decided to remain backstage, effectively running the risk of
elimination. Cowell noticed Malik missing from the dance routine and went backstage and
convinced him to return.[8]
For their qualifying song, and their first as a group, at judges houses, One Direction sang an
acoustic version of "Torn".[9] In week 1 of the live shows, they performed "Viva la Vida" and were
safe for the week. Week 2 was "Musical Heroes", and One Direction sang "My Life Would Suck
Without You", which received positive comments from the judges; Minogue called them "five
heartthrobs"[151] and praised their performance, Cole called them "cute"[citation needed] and
Cowell said "You are the most exciting pop band in the country right now."[152] They sang
"Nobody Knows" in week 3, "Total Eclipse of the Heart" in week 4. In week 4, girl band Belle
Amie were eliminated, leaving One Direction as Cowell's last remaining act. They sang "Kids in
America" in week 5, "Something About the Way You Look Tonight" in week 6 and "All You Need
Is Love" in week 7. They were safe each week, never once being in the bottom two. For weeks 8
and 9, they performed two songs: "Summer of 69" and "You Are So Beautiful" in week 8 and "Only
Girl (in the World)" and "Chasing Cars "in week 9. They were safe both times, making it to the final
live show, being the first ever manufactured group to do so. In week 10, they performed "Your
Song". After performing "Torn" in the final, One Direction finished in third place behind runner-up
Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle.

han pasado por sus vidas aunque todavía son muy jóvenes. Es lo que tiene ser el grupo del
momento, que causas sensación y sin querer tienes a todas las chicas loquitas por tus huesos.
Estarán encantados de la vida, no es para menos.
Harry Styles (Twitter: @Harry_Styles) es sin duda el más ligón de la banda. Lo acaba de dejar hace
nada con su última novia, Kendall Jenner (Twitter: @KendallJenner). Ella no parece estar muy
contenta con la ruptura pero Harry es un chico muy ocupado, empieza la gira y ha preferido
centrarse en su carrera.

Lo que decimos, ser novia de un One Direction tiene que ser durísimo y más ahora que empiezan la
