1985-2004: Early life
ElizabethWoolridge Grant was born in NewYork City on June 21,
1985, to Robert EnglandGrant, Jr., a Grey Group copywriter, and
PatriciaAnn "Pat", a former Grey account executive turned high
school teacher. She has one younger sister, Caroline Grant, and one
brother, Charlie.
Grant grew up in Lake
Placid, NewYork, and was
raised RomanCatholic. She
began singing in her
church choir when she was
a child, where she was the
cantor.

Lana struggled with alcohol abusse in her early adolescent years.
At 18, Lana moved back to NewYork to go to rehab for her various
addictions.
After getting sober and graduating high school Lana declined an
offer of admission to the state university of NY, opting to spend the
year with her aunt and uncle in Long Island.While she worked as a
waitress, her auncle taught her how to play guitar wich pushed her
to start writing original music under nicknames like Lizzy Grant.
2005-2010: Career begginings

From 2005-2006 she recorded two lost albums and
one LP that were never released. However, she
created an album, Sirens, under the name May
Jailer eventually leaked in 2012.
In 2007 during her senior year at NY Fordham
University producer David Kahne sign Lana del Rey
to a ten-thousand dollar record contract with Five
Point Records after only hearing one demo.
She relocated to New Jersey to work on her label
debut.
Kill Kill, her three track EP
was released in october of 2008
under the stage name Lizzy Grant.

Her major label debut BornTo Die dropped on January 31,
2012 but she had a really bad performance on SNL that got
everybody talking about if she deserved the success she was
having.
Along her career she always have struggled with stage fright.
The record putted Lana on the number 2 spot in the
Billboard 200 chart and it sold 3.4M copies being the most
succesful album Lana had.
Shortly after, Lana’s Paradise EP was made avaible
November 12 2012, wich included new songs and won the
Best Alternative at the 2012 MTV.

For the next 2 years Lana would work on her first full-lenght album:
Lana Del Rey AKA Lizzy Grant was released on Itunes in January
2010 but pulled off only being available for a few months.
Eventually negotiating to terminate her contract with Five Point
Records, Lana moved to London where she fine tuned her sound and
persona and officialy becaming Lana del Rey.
In June 2011, she got her big break with the release of the DIY video
for her singleVideogames onYoutube.The video went viral catching
the attention of Polydor Records, wich Lana signed for.The single
was re-released in the fall and it was a total hit.

2013 was a huge year for Lana, Paradise
was nominated for best pop vocal album as
part of the 56th annual Grammy Awards.
She also picked up a Brit Award for
international female solo artist.
In addition she was also Grammy

Great Gatsby.
On december 5th 2013 Del Rey release
Tropico, a short film featuring songs Body

Ultraviolence was released on June 13 2014 debuting in the
number one spot in 12 countries.
Lana’s uniquely dark tunes were heavily influenced by her
thoughts on death as she told on an interview.
While on her 2015 Endless SummerTour Lana performed and

Honeymoon, released september 18th 2015.
In november of that year Lana was honored at Billboard’s

I discovered Lana in 2016, and that summer, I listened to her music
all the time. I became her fan really quick.
The first song I heard of hers was the Summertime Sadness remix by
Cedric Gervays.
The thing I like the most about her is her voice and the uniqueness
factor in her songs. I feel they are from another world. I also love her
lyrics, I feel they are really deep and special.
On April 19th of 2018 Lana came to Barcelona (Palau Sant Jordi) and I
went to see her, and it was amazing.
